“Jihyo”

“What’s wrong?” Jihyo says from her desk, she doesn’t look up from her work as she’s typing furiously

“…Nothing…”

“You haven’t touched the lego in my wardrobe and you’ve been here for over half an hour”

“That doesn’t mean anything”

She turns around to meet the eyes of her friend sitting on her bed cross legged

“It really does but fine, just fix your face then, you look ugly when you brood”

“Shush”

The two laugh and Jihyo goes back to her work, having the odd privilege of being friends with someone as unorthodox as Jeongyeon Jihyo is fully able to read her like a book, if it was a good book Jihyo didn’t really know but she enjoys their time together none the less. She knows it’s only a matter of time until Jeongyeon starts talking…three…two...

“So I was talking to Momo before I got here”

Bingo.

“Yeah? And what?”

“She thinks I should talk to Nayeon”

Jihyo turns back around, leaning back on her chair “And you think you shouldn’t”

Jeongyeon sighs, running a hand through her hair

“It’s not that shouldn’t, I know I should, I just don’t want her getting the wrong idea”

“Who?”

“Nayeon obviously, I’m asking her to leave me alone for real now if she hates me so much, not begging for her friendship back. We’re going to be adults soon, this can’t continue, it’s getting petty now”

Jihyo knows that, she’s known that for a long time

“What if she wants to be your friend again, or at least you know get along to a certain degree”

Jeongyeon pauses for just a second and it tugs at something in Jihyo. Of course being 15 and 16 at the time things were susceptible to a more emotional reaction, they were both more erratic in behaviour then, but even still it lingers in the air, those young raw feelings.

“Then…she’s going to have to realise that we can’t just pick up where we left off, she dropped me like I was no-one, I can’t be someone to her anymore”

“You aren’t giving her a chance to try”

“That’s not how I work Ji…I’m not doing this for her sake”

Jihyo hums “I know that, if it was for Nayeon’s sake you would have done it already, you’re not as mean as you think you are”

“Says who?”

“Me”

Jeongyeon laughs hard “Shut up you sap”

Jihyo shuffles forward in her chair and extends her leg, kicking Jeongyeon’s own

“I’m the sap? That’s such a lie, you are, and I can prove it too. Gimmie your phone”

It was right by Jeongyeon’s foot

“No”

“Gimmie”

“No”

This time Jihyo doesn’t ask, she just lunges at it before Jeongyeon can get it out of reach

“Why is this your lockscreen?”

“Oh my-It wasn’t me! I swear it! Give it back!”

“You’ve been dating for like two weeks”

“Shut up”

“Whipped”

Jihyo opens the phone and proceeds to giggle uncontrollably, almost slipping off her chair

“Oh my God Jeong”

“Be quiet you hobbit”

“Hobbit? Real original Jeong, you’re just mad”

“I’ll come over there, I will. You’re laughing now but when you get drop kicked onto the bed it’s a different story”

“Then I’ll tell Momo and then what”

“Oh my- shut up or you’re get
