It was winter, the season of fog, mist, and snow. A warm cup of coffee in the morning, the warmth you get from the fireplace, and the fun of making a snowman are what make it a special season. But JongIn barely has any time to appreciate it.

It was a cold and exhausting day for JongIn. He just got back from a business trip from the UK and he immediately had to get back to his office for a meeting. After two whole hours of agonizing presentation, he finally gets to go back home and snuggle up with his omega.

The drive to their house in Gangnam takes longer than his old condo, but it was all worth it. He had bought this house as a gift for their anniversary. It is an enchanting terrarium, like a luxurious, tropical modern family mansion. The architecture is mostly transparent, exposing views of picturesque gardens and lush greenery all the while allowing light to filter through and gently eliminate the house interior. It has everything one could ask for in a mansion and of course, a 2 floored underground garage for JongIn’s car collection is a must.  JongIn parks his car and takes a lift up, entering the code and getting into the house. He expects Kyungsoo to be waiting for him as usual, greeting him with a welcome home like he usually does, but instead finds the place dark and empty. Furrowing, JongIn walks farther into their house, the sensor lights on and offing on his way. He searches a couple of rooms but still doesn’t find any traces of his husband.

“Everly, where is Kyungsoo?”

“Master Kyungsoo is not home Master JongIn.”

Everly replies,  the artificial intelligence that Elyxion came up with in collaboration with Agust D Inc. had been working on it for quite a few years and she is finally ready for use. But a test run had to be done and per Yoongi’s suggestion, she got installed into their house.

“Did he leave any message?” JongIn asks the virtual butler.

“Yes sir. He said ‘Find me before midnight. I will be waiting for you”

“Find him?”

“Yes sir. Master Kyungsoo hasn’t taken any of the cars and the CCTV by the gate shows the sir has left in a cab. I have recorded the cab number if you would like.”

“Not necessary. I might know where to find him.”

“Very well sir. Might I remind you that it is already 9: 48 PM? You only have 2 Hours and 12 Minutes to find him. I wish you luck, sir.”

“” JongIn immediately jumps into action.

His first and most confident destination was his family house. He brags in on his parents cozy on a couch watching some cheesy kdrama.

“Is Kyungsoo here?” He asks before his mother snaps at him, silently rolling his eyes at his father for being annoyingly clingy, his arms wrapped around his appa’s waist with a vice-like grip, absolutely not letting go of his spouse.

Taemin and JongIn, buy now used to Minho’s possessiveness and utter shamelessness before his own kids, ignored his presence to go on with their conversation.

“He isn’t. He was here this morning but he left after our evening tea. He should be home. Why? Did he not reach home?” JongIn can see the concern in his appa’s eyes. Even his father let go of his husband to concentrate on their conversation.

JongIn immediately reassures them that no, Kyungsoo is not missing or kidnapped, he is fine, and ends up telling them about their little hide and seek that Kyungsoo started and that JongIn didn’t know he was part of.

“Ahh..young love. Why don’t we play a game like that Taeminie?” Minho says sweetly, wrapping his arms back around Taemin’s waist and snuggling his neck, earning a smack on his head from his mate.

“We are playing no games”

“Fine, we can just stay here all day. Hey you, why are you still here being a killjoy? Go find your husband and leave my husband alone.” Minho shoots at his son and JongIn doesn’t even wait for his father to finish that sentence before he dashes out of the house.

 JongIn dials each and every one of their acquaintances, friends, and family, asking if anyone has seen Kyungsoo, but all he gets is a no, they haven’t. He goes to every place he could think of, but to no gain.

With no other option left, he ends up calling the only person he had ignored so far, Hoseok. Kyungsoo and Hoseok had gotten much closer over the past year to JongIn’s dismay. But he is a good husband, so he can’t just pull his spouse away from his childhood best friend.

“Hello, who is this?” right, Hoseok doesn’t have JongIn’s number. He took it off Kyungsoo’s phone for ‘safety’ purposes.

“It’s me, Kim JongIn.”

“Oh, JongIn-shi! What do I owe you for you to make this call?”

“Is Kyungsoo with you?”

“Straight to the point I see. Why are you asking me? Is Kyungsoo missing?”

“Just tell me if he is with you”

“Oh I would love to hang out with Kyung but sorry to disappoint you Mr. Kim but I am currently thousands of miles away here in Bali enjoying a wonderful honeymoon with my wife. I hope you do remember attending my wedding a few days ago?”

Right, Hoseok got married to Winni last Sunday. He even attended the wedding at Kyungsoo’s request.

“I thought you would have noticed JongIn-shi. Your phone is making an international call right now. It would cost you quite a lot you know. But I guess it doesn’t matter to you.” JongIn pulls away to look at his phone screen and indeed, the location tracing software on his phone show Bali and he simply cuts the call without even a goodbye.

JongIn huffs out a breath, making a cloud of fog hang in front of his lips and he clenches his phone and tries to remember all the places that Kyungsoo could have gone to.

Then it strikes him. Did Kyungsoo really remember that place? JongIn hesitates but still decided to give it a try. And he wouldn’t want his husband to be freezing on this cold night.
