Party-pooper

Cooking for Love

"Thank you, sweetheart!" Seyong's mother gladly accepted the cake from me.

I gave her a sheepish smile, "It's okay, really."

Seyong pouted. "Umma!" he whined, "I helped too, so don't I get a thank you as well?" He then cleared his throat, and shuffled around in his spot a bit. "I mean, why should Hyeri get all the attention, when I'm the one who lead her here?"

His mother blinked a bit, before shaking her head in amusement. "Aigoo," she cooed. "My son is so silly; of course you do, dear."

And as she continued to praise him for accompanying me here, I let out an inward sigh; his motor-mouth could have given our cake secret away!

After Seyong's mother placed the cake into the kitchen, she came back out, and then brought us around the house, to introduce us all to the other adults there. Hearing that, my eyes quickly flickered over towards Seyong, and surprisingly, his eyes were already on me. The alert look on his face, told me that he was feeling the exact same; we just both wanted to go home, and laze around. But not wanting to be rude, (well, Seyong just openly complained about wanting to go home, but received a scolding from his mom for that) we agreed, and the two of us followed her around, and greeted them all as politely as we could.

And judging by their compliments, they seemed to be impressed, and I could tell that Seyong's fat ego was being fed, with that smug look on his face.

"Omo, what a lovely daughter you have," spoke a lady, whose name I had already forgotten.

Seyong's mom shook her head with a smile, "No, she's not mine, but because she's such a dear, I do treat her like one."

A smile automatically lit my face once I heard that. Her friend then turned back to her and blinked, "Oh?" She then looked at both Seyong and I, and then held up a finger. "Ah," she said, and I could imagine a light bulb shining on top of her head. "This is your son's girlfriend!"

Hearing that, both Seyong and I slowly craned our neck towards her and managed to choke out a, "What?!"

People these days, why do they always assume the worst?!

"Aigoo, why is it so chilly, all of the sudden?" I heard a man from nearby say.

His friend shrugged, "I don't know, but I feel like it's coming from that girl over there."

My head couldn't help but snap over towards them, and when I did, they caught sight of my unintentional glare. Seeing that, it caused them to slowly inch away, making me let out a huff.

Seyong's mother laughed. "Oh no, these two are just friends," she said, with a flick of her wrist. "But with the way they argue, they might as well be married."

"Umma!" yelled Seyong, in protest.

His mom and her friend both giggled at his irked expression, while I just shook my head. Her friend then asked if we were going to stay, and before either of us could politely decline, a familiar blonde male walked into the room. His eyes blinked in surprise, while his mouth slowly formed into an amazed 'o'.

I was the first one to speak; "Baro?"

Saying his name (or nickname) out, had perked the lady's attention, as she then turned back to face me, "Omo, you know my Sunwoo?"

Both Seyong and I nodded, where Baro then proceeded to explain (as it turns out to be, his mother) how the three of us attended the same school. Seeing this, Seyong's mother then happily encouraged us to go out and have fun with him and his friends. When the two adults left us, Baro then explained how this party was to celebrate the promotion of his father's job. He said that his parents didn't want him to be too ‘lonely’ during the celebration, so he was allowed to bring a couple of friends over.

And once we were outside where everyone else was, I scanned through the place, and instantly spotted his friends in a separate section from the adults.

Gongchan could be seen eating with Jaehyo, as Jinyoung and Zico could be seen taking a photo together. CNU was chatting with Taeil, while explosions of laughter could be heard from Yukwon, Minhyuk, Kyung, P.O, and Sandeul. I found myself easily greeting the guys, as I happily went to take a seat next to Yukwon. Seyong went and joined Zico and Jinyoung, as Baro went to get more food. The guys continued talking, but then decided to re-tell their joke, when I couldn't help but voice out my confusion.

And as I continued to snack on the nearest plate of chips, I found myself laughing at a little dance that Sandeul was doing, which he had called the 'sprout dance'.

It got funnier, as both he and Baro swayed their hips, with their arms on their heads, while Taeil was sandwiched in the middle. Photos were taken, and after pulling a silly face with Zico, I suggested that we also had a 'normal' one together. He agreed, and went to drape an arm over my shoulder, as I slightly tilted my head a little closer to him. The two of us smiled at his phone camera, and right when it focused on us, I felt something hit the back of my head.

My yelp automatically made Zico withdraw his arm back to himself, as he asked me what had happened.

"I don't know, but it felt like something got launched at my head," I mumbled, while scanning the floor for the evidence.

"Woops!" came a voice.

My eyes flattened, as a sheepish red-head approached us. "Sorry fatty," said Seyong, not sounding very apologetic. "I was trying to aim for the bin."

His reasoning made me roll my eyes. "Not only do you have horrible aiming, but you're also very blind," I said with a huff. "There's a bin right next to Jaehyo, so you could have just taken five steps over there, and thrown it away!"

Seyong turned to look at the bin, and then back to me. "I guess it must have slipped my mind," he said, with a quick shrug. "Oh well."

Giving me a bump with his hip, he then wedged himself in between Zico and I, and started speaking to him, where he then suggested that they take a photo together. I shot him a glare, holding back the urge to punch his face right there and then; the nerve of this guy! Walking away with a roll of my eyes, my ears perked up, at the sound of Yukwon calling me over to him. And seeing his bright smile made me temporarily forget about the crazy butthead back there, as I took a seat next to him.

"You have to try this beef," stated Yukwon.

He offered me his fork, and I used it to pick up a piece of meat. "Oh wow," I managed to say, after swallowing the food. "That's really good."

The brunette nodded in agreement, and then pushed his plate in between us. "Here, eat with me," he said, with another bright smile.

I nodded with a grin, and then started to share the food with him. Yukwon was always so nice and smiley, it was hard to be in a grumpy mood around him. We ate and talked and basically just enjoyed each other's company, as everyone else was all over the place, doing their own thing. When Yukwon took a piece of lettuce, and wrapped it around the meat, I laughed, as he offered it to me. I eventually ate it, and gave him a thumbs up, which made him beam that megawatt smile of his, and then go back to eating.

And as we continued to eat, I noticed how neat his part of the table was, in comparison to my own half.

I couldn't help but blurt out, "Wow, you're really neat."

He smiled a little, "I clean a lot at home, so it's a habit to keep things somewhat tidy."

"If you clean, then do you cook?" I asked.

"A little," he replied, while pinching his two fingers together slightly. "I clean more than I cook though."

"Ah, I see," I nodded, "I cook more than I clean."

An amused look appeared on Yukwon's face, "Really? Well then me and you would be a great couple." He then let out a chuckle, "If we live together, then you can cook, and I'll clean."

I laughed, going along with his playful comment. "Hey, that sounds like a good deal!"

Entertained by our joke, the two of us then high fived each other, but our laughter was soon interrupted, when a groan was heard from in front of us.

"Do it," said Kyung, who was sitting opposite of us.

Holy moly, when did he get there? Or was he actually sitting there the whole time...?!

Both Yukwon and I exchanged a confused look, which caused him to go on. "The two of you need to go out, get married, and have wonderful children already," he grumbled.

"Um..." was the only thing that came out of my mouth.

Kyung did a dramatic huff, "You guys are always so lovey-dovey, how is it not possible that you aren't together?" He then ruffled his hair to show his frustration, which made me give Yukwon another puzzled look.

But he only gave me an unsure shrug, as he looked just as equally as baffled as me.

"Tell me about it, it's like watching a real life drama," spoke another voice. Minhyuk appeared out of nowhere, and took a seat down next to Kyung. "Except this is more frustrating, because you guys seem to be stuck in the same spot."

Both Yukwon and I looked at each other again, and the knowing look in his eyes made me lift an eyebrow. "How about we give them some fanservice?" he suggested, with a cheeky smile.

Knowing what he was up to, I couldn't help but smirk a little, "Eh, why not?"

Reaching out, Yukwon's hands intertwined with my own, as we slowly touched our foreheads together. And then on the count of three, we both turned to face Kyung and Minhyuk with a beam, while our heads still touched. Yukwon and I both burst out laughing at Kyung's expression, while Minhyuk shook his head at us. Wow, I didn't think our playful skin-ship could have such an effect. Turning over, Yukwon and I both gave each other a playful shoulder bump, as Minhyuk said something about marriage. I would have asked him about it, if I didn't feel someone give my head a sudden whack.

Glaring at the source, I let out a harsh, "What?"

Two dark eyes caused my glaring ones to feel somewhat stunned. Seyong looked down at me with a look that told me that he wasn't very amused; "Let’s go home."
