Chapter 11

”Minhyuk darling, dinners ready!” His mom shouted from downstairs and Minhyuk closed his computer. 

”How was your day?” His mom asked, Minhyuk smiling vaguely ”It was okay I guess…” He said casually, though it hadn’t been okay. It had been everything but okay, but he didn’t want to upset his mom who was stressed enough already. 

”Oh that’s good, I think y-” 

She was cut off by Minhyuks dad entering the kitchen. The both of them could directly sense that something was wrong. 

His mom rose to her feet, her husband pushing her away. 

”Get out of the way!” 

Minhyuk swallowed, it was never good when his dad was angry. 

”Minhyuk, can you please tell me why I got a call today from Mr Son?”

”No sir, I can’t”

Of course he could. 

”He told me he saw you and Shownu…”

”I can’t even say it…” His dad muttered and his mom put a hand on Minhyuks shoulder.

”Minhyuk dear, what is he talking about?” She sounded scared and the guilt hit Minhyuk like a train. 

”Mr Son saw the two of them… Kissing”

The hand on his shoulder was gone and it was replaced with a hard slap on his left cheek, Minhyuk screamed in surprise and pain, his cheek burning and not daring to look up and meet his dads furious eyes. 

The first couple of bruises were easy to cover, one on the jaw and two on the ribs. Minhyuk secretly used makeup to cover the ugly blue skin, his dad not knowing about that either. His dad thought makeup was for girls, and girls only. 

Ever since his dad had caught him with Shownu, everything had been hell. 

Minhyuk were constantly feeling down, constantly on the edge. He flinched whenever someone got too close or too loud, making people wonder what was up with the usually bright and smiley Minhyuk they all knew.
