MonsterHyojin knocked on the door of the dorm. It was opened by a tall, slender boy with strong looking arms.
“Hello?” He said. Hyojin raised her badge and a look of confusion passed over the boy’s face. “Is something wrong?”
“Minhyuk, what's going on?” Someone else yelled. Another boy, near the same height appeared and blinked in shock. “Officers?”
“Kang Minhyuk?” Hyojin asked, looking at the first boy. He nodded. “And this is…?”
“Lee Jonghyun.” The second one said slowly.
“May I come in?” She asked and the two boys moved. She stepped in and turned to them. “My name is Kim Hyojin. I understand your friends of Kim Himchan?” Jonghyun nodded.
“Yes. Did he do something?”
“It's more of what he didn’t do. His younger brother called in saying that he didn't come home. We wanted to ask you a few questions.”
“Himchan’s missing?” Minhyuk blanched. Hyojin nodded.
“Unfortunately, yes. When was the last time you saw him?”
“I saw him this morning.” Jonghyun said. “We met up for breakfast but I haven't spoken to him since then. I saw him walking around campus, but I didn't talk to him. I was running late to class.” Hyojin nodded.
“He came over here early to return a book he borrowed from me.” Minhyuk said. “He said he had to go to work after that. I think he gets off at 4:45 on Fridays.”
“Thank you both. If anything else comes to mind, please call me.” She handed them a small card with her number and they nodded. “One more thing,” she added. “I want to speak with Jung Yonghwa and Lee Jungshin, to see if they know anything.”
“Yonghwa won’t.” Jonghyun said. “It’s almost finals. He’s holed himself up inside his room and hasn’t really spoken to anyone. Himchan asked me earlier if he was okay. They haven't spoken.”
“I see.” Hyojin said, feeling slightly disappointed. “And Jungshin?”
“I can text him.” Minhyuk volunteered. “Have him come over to talk to you, so you don't have to track him down.”
“Thank you.” She said and Minhyuk pulled out his phone, typing out a message. A few minutes later, the door opened.
A boy, even taller than the other two, walked in. He looked between the three of them.
“What's going on?” He asked. Hyojin held her badge up.
“I’m officer Kim Hyojin.” She said. “And you’re Lee Jungshin?” The boy nodded. “Can I speak to you for a minute?”
“O-of course, but can I ask what's happening?” Jungshin sounded slightly bewildered.
“Himchan’s missing.” Minhyuk said and Jungshin’s eyes widened.
“Missing?” Hyojin nodded.
“Yes. I want to know when the last time you saw him was.”
“Yesterday. We got lunch together, but I haven't seen him since then. I was going to ask him a question about class earlier, but he didn't pick up his phone, so I headed over to the library to see if he was there.”
“And?” Hyojin prodded.
“He wasn't. He had just gotten off work. Hyosung said he left with some girl? Apparently just as he was getting off, she showed up and Himchan didn't seem happy, but they talked a bit and then left together?” Hyojin nodded.
“Thank you, all of you. I’ll make sure to update you if we find him.” The three boys nodded.
“I’ll go tell Yonghwa.” Jonghyun said, and slipped out of the room. Hyojin left after him, and started for the library.
