Mingyu was still amused at himself. He didn’t know where he got all that confidence to tell the older that Wonwoo would fall for Mingyu. Mingyu himself was not the bold type actually. Mingyu and manly was not really connected because seriously, he was not that manly. He was the type that would squeal like a girl when he saw a cute or romantic scene in a drama, he would also sometimes let out an ‘omo’ just like girls.

Mingyu also still remembered that time when he had to kill that cockroaches. He hated cockroaches, he hated it so much. He was afraid and disgusted by that one scary creatures god made. He was sweating hard and had to hold himself from screaming. But he braved himself because he had to do it. But really, this would be Kim Mingyu’s charms, dependable. He would be a great husband that would never let his family hungry. He would do anything, even something he hated, just so his loved one would be comfortable. He was full of affection and would give hands for those who need help.

He was also very optimistic. That was one of the few things his parents always taught him, he would never give up easily as he also had believe that he could get anything if he tried his best. That was also maybe one of the reason why he was very good in cooking, fixing breaking things or anything related to his hands, good in sports, good body, likeable personality and etc. Really, he was just that perfect.

So this time too, he believed that if he tried his best Wonwoo would accept him again just like before. He knew Wonwoo so well. If Mingyu had to describe Wonwoo as a thing, then the fittest one would be a marshmallow. If you put it in the refrigerator for too long, it would became cold and hard but then, if you warm it a bit, it would turned soft and fluffy. Wonwoo was just like a marshmallow, the only thing Mingyu needed to do was giving a lot of affection and attention and BAM, Wonwoo would show his soft side for sure.

After that night, Mingyu was more comfortable in showing his affection to the older. He could also flirt freely just what his usual self would do. He also observed the older one and Wonwoo didn’t really changed that much with his child self.

It was Monday morning, when he had morning class just like Wonwoo. Mingyu knew Wonwoo had been asking him to not talk nor look at his direction when they were at the university, he didn’t know the reason though. Mingyu just walked a few steps away from Wonwoo but then, he saw a girl was walking next to him. Mingyu frowned when he saw Wonwoo was leaning closer to her before he let out a laugh.

Mingyu disliked that. So, he went to them and asked something just popped out of his head. Radio club. He had no intention on joining the club but he really couldn’t think of any other club in this Mass Communication’s building.

Mingyu then looked at the girl next to Wonwoo, she was quiet pretty, not really his cup of tea though. But Mingyu had to give props to Wonwoo for knowing quiet a lot of pretty girls. This hyung of him might be a popular guy in the university? Mingyu couldn’t help but to think like that.

Mingyu had to admit that he was quiet jealous of the girl in front of him. She could made Wonwoo laughed like that. Being a curious and friendly kid, Mingyu then asked her name. It was Mina.

And she didn’t have a Korean family name so Mingyu just suggested a family name just to tease the older student. Since Wonwoo insisted he would be the husband, Mingyu just suggested a Jeon as her surname. But when he heard this Mina girl wanted a Kim Minah instead it just made him laugh. He hated himself for laughing because of this girl but that was just so funny. Mingyu could see how Wonwoo’s pride was hurting just because of that. It should be Jeon Mina because Wonwoo was the husband, but her name was Kim Mina, then Mingyu was the husband! Mingyu actually didn’t really care on what kind of role he had to do, like.. if Wonwoo wanted him to be the wife then he would. It didn’t bother him much as the older did. But Mingyu was doubting that ‘who was the wife’ would be a problem at all, they were already this big, Wonwoo should know that those kind of things didn’t matter anymore, right?

Just like usual, he greeted people he met on the hall. Since they greeted him first, so of course, Mingyu would greeted them back. It was lunch time, and for today, Wonwoo’s class ended just like Mingyu’s. He took out his phone and messaged the older, asking him if he had his lunch already or not. He didn’t get any reply yesterday and actually, he didn’t really expect one too. He just wanted to show the older how he really cared for him. Mingyu hoped he would met Wonwoo at the cafeteria for today, since yesterday he had to take lunch first because of the class schedule. Mingyu just wanted to see how Wonwoo usually having his time with his friends as they eating their lunch. What kind of food Wonwoo usually order in the cafeteria and other small things.

Mingyu was ready to dig his fried rice when he saw another tray was placed in front of him. He could see the hands’ of the tray’s owner and he knew who it was. She still had the same nail color as yesterday, pink.

“Hey, mind if I join you?” Nayeon said with her eyesmile. She already put her tray and sat on the seat, it was not like Mingyu could reject her.

It was uncomfortable for Mingyu to be facing a girl Wonwoo loved actually. But Mingyu couldn’t just push her away like that, why? Because he was very curious of their relationship before. People said Wonwoo was being dumped, but then why? She should be happy to be able to date Wonwoo. It was not like she dumped Wonwoo because of Mingyu, he didn’t even there when they broke up. So, what was the reason?

“Is that okay for you to eat with me like this? Your boyfriend is not mad?” Mingyu asked with a grin. People who see Mingyu’s face would think that he was flirting for sure. Mingyu didn’t care though, he was not going to make a bad impression in front of her. He needed information after all.

“I don’t have a boyfriend” Nayeon said with a smile.

“No way! Is that because of your high standard or the guys are just blind? There’s no way they would leave a girl like you alone”

“I know right” Nayeon sighed, “I wasted my time by dating a guy who basically didn’t love me back”

Mingyu arched his eyebrow. What?

“I just broke up with him because I could felt that he doesn’t love me”

“How do you know?” Mingyu was very curious for sure. Was she playing a victim card or Jeon Wonwoo didn’t really love her? But by seeing Wonwoo’s act before, Mingyu knew how much Wonwoo really loved the girl in front of him. Just by thinking about it made a slight nudge on his heart.

“He has a fiancé”

Mingyu widened his eyes, “What?”

“My ex is gay. He made a promise with his childhood friend to marry each other”

Mingyu was speechless. So Nayeon knew about Mingyu’s and Wonwoo’s promise? Somehow, it made Mingyu’s heart even more uncomfortable. Wonwoo must be trusting her so much to share such a thing with her.

Nayeon then took out her phone before she showed it to Mingyu. She was showing a picture, like a banner? It was talking about Movie club project, Cherry Blossom Tree and they were holding an audition soon.

“I think he was being so cruel” Nayeon said with a fake sad face.

“Why?” Mingyu knew she was acting at the moment, but he didn’t know why she suddenly showed that picture. Did she wanted to take a part in that audition?

“My ex, he is a member of that movie club. We just broke up because of his stupid promise he made in the past but then! He has to make a movie with his own story life? Is he kidding me?” Nayeon scoffed as she looked at her phone screen, the picture.

While Mingyu was astonished. Wonwoo made a movie project based on his story life? Mingyu believed it was about their childhood promise from the way Nayeon talked before.

“He…He made the script too?” Mingyu stuttered. He didn’t know why he stuttered. Was he happy or what?

“No, it was made by Sana, Momo and Mina” Nayeon said as she read the picture that contained the details of the movie project including the script writers.

‘Is it Mina I just met before? If yes then… as expected… our daughter’ Mingyu grinned.

“Ah, you might not know this but.. it was a public secret already” Nayeon said,

“What?”

“Taken since 9, Jeon Wonwoo. It was already known around the campus that he made a promise with his childhood friend. That was the reason why some of my friends didn’t agree with our relationship at first. They were right, I shouldn’t have dated him because I was the one hurting instead”

“But how could it spread out like that?” Nayeon was disappointed when Mingyu was more interested with Wonwoo’s story instead of comforting her.

“He told everyone in our pre-class trip. He said it because of that truth or dare kind of game”

Mingyu couldn’t help but a smile crept on his face. He felt a bit happy. It felt like a light suddenly shone through his dark cave, he finally knew the reason of why Wonwoo wanted the younger to act like they didn’t know each other. Especially about Mingyu living in Wonwoo’s house. If other people knew about it, they would get the idea of him being Wonwoo’s fiancé for sure. Mingyu didn’t mind of people know about them though, but since the older had an opposite thought about it then Mingyu would respect it.

“Oh look, Jeon Wonwoo is here. There’s going to be a good watch!”

Mingyu heard someone said not so far from his seat. His then eyes then searched for the certain black jet haired student. He saw Wonwoo walked inside the cafeteria with a blonde student next to him. He didn’t noticed Mingyu’s existence in the room before the friend next to him told him. Wonwoo then met his eyes with Mingyu and the older just rolled his eyes, looked a bit annoyed.

“Oh look.. He just gave me a dirty look” Mingyu’s eyes then fell on the girl in front of him. Nayeon probably didn’t know that the dirty look Wonwoo just had was for Mingyu not herself. Mingyu scoffed.

Nayeon saw Mingyu scoffing and her hope reach through the rooftop, “But I am okay, I believe I can move on”

“Yeah.. Good luck with that” Mingyu said nonchalantly.

The caramel haired student then fished out his phone to text his Wonwoo hyung. He just felt like pampering the older with delicious food he would make, he felt extremely happy after he knew about those things Nayeon just told before.

To Wonwoo Hyung:

Hyung, be back faster today! I will cook a lot of good food~

Mingyu looked at Wonwoo’s direction after he hit the send button. He saw the older checking his phone and glanced at Mingyu’s direction.

From Wonwoo Hyung:

I thought you said you don’t want to act like a cute petty wife anymore?

Mingyu smiled at Wonwoo’s answer. This was the first time Wonwoo replied to Mingyu’s message.

To Wonwoo Hyung:

It’s okay. I promise to be the wife after all.

Mingyu saw Wonwoo just let out a deep sigh in the other side of the room. Mingyu then pouted slightly when the older just decided just to ignore the message.
