I nodded my head. "I understand..."


"I'm sorry." She repeated.


I dragged myself out of the nurses office and walked towards the front room of the building. Taemin, who saw me, immediately got out of his seat to be by my side.


"Are you okay?" 

"Yeah... I'm fine. I just need a day or two of rest." I reassured.

"... Want me to take you home...?"


I smiled at his offer, but politely turned him down. "No thanks. You have to get to class too."


He pouted a little. "Well be careful okay? And get a good rest..."


"I will..." I said, taking my bag and leaving. 

 

At home, I intentionally avoided my headaches and drowsiness until I couldn't handel it anymore. Quickly downing some medicine and water, I laid myself in bed, and tried to some sleep.


In bed, I began to think.


Things really didn't go as planned for the first day... but don't worry, Unnie...


I'll do better tomorrow! 

And when you come back home, you will see nothing has changed... and everything... is the way... it should be...



My train of thought unconsiously subsided, as I drifted off into a deep slumber.

When I woke up the next day, I decided to forget about yesterday's happenings and focus on the new day. I checked my temperature, measuring the heat of my forehead with a thermometer.

 

"98.7..." I whispered.


That's normal. I guess I can go to school today...


Taking my untouched bag from yesterday, I snuck an apple from the countertop island, bitting into the juicy contents before heading towards school. I arrived at the gates early, like usual.

Sigh.
