“I’m trying out for Alice,” I smiled, although a bit guilty that Myungsoo was the one who influenced my choice. Jonghyun cocked his eyebrow, genuinely confused.

“Didn’t you say before that you wanted to be the almighty powerful character?” Jonghyun gave me a perplexed stare.

“I…” I froze.

Did I just screw it up?

 “I… changed my mind!” I blurted out lamely, hoping that he would take my answer. He slowly nodded, although I could see suspicion creeping into his eyes.

“You know you’re going into a battlefield, right?” He asked.

“Huh? What battlefield?” Confused, I replied.

“You know… those…” He motioned towards the crowd of screaming fangirls. “The ones who want to tryout for Alice just to be with Myungsoo.”

I let a nervous laugh pass through my lips. If Jonghyun ever knew that I was somewhat the same as the fangirls, he would definitely know that I wasn’t Eunmi.

For some reason, I had the impression that Jonghyun didn’t like Myungsoo very much. At first,  I thought it was because Jonghyun and Myungsoo were trying out for the same role- but I felt that his dislike was much, much deeper than that.

*bringg*

“Class is over! Please take a look at the sample scripts we handed out earlier! Remember, tryouts are next week!” The teacher’s voice blared over the rowdy classroom. I waved good-bye to Jonghyun, who rushed to get of the stuffed classroom.

“I guess I should look over this script…” I tilted my head and pensively flipped through the sample script packet the teacher handed us. I buried my head in the script as I slowly walked out the door, muttering to myself.

“Woah!” I walked into someone, and I fell down on my bottom.

“Are you alright? I’m extremely sorry about that!” A worried voice appeared above me. Rubbing my hurt nose, I stared up to see Myungsoo’s deep brown orbs. Flabbergasted, I stuttered that I was perfectly fine.

“Oh, that’s good,” He breathed a sigh of relief, and noticed the sample script in my hand. “Oh, is that the Alice in Wonderland sample script?”

“Yeah…” I pushed myself off the cold floor, brushing the front of school uniform to make sure there wasn’t any dirt.

“I’m trying out for the Mad Hatter,” He smiled. “What about you?”

“Ah, I was thinking of Alice…” I unsurely met his eyes. It was Myungsoo, for god’s sake. One of the most popular guys in this school, and I was talking to him!

“Oh, that’s good,” He muttered, a small grin on his face. “You know, you’re different than I expected.”

“Eh?”

Different? I bit my lip, unsure if that was a good or bad thing.

“I didn’t know you would be so… gentle,” He scratched the back of his neck. “I always thought that you were… how to put it… flighty?”

“Flighty?” I squeaked.

“Ah, but you’re not!” He quickly said, and gave me a heartwarming smile. “Perhaps you can practice the script with me someday this week? Since we have a lot of scenes together…”

“I…”
