Letting my eyelids fall slowly, I might have drifted off to sleep, but a sudden voice from behind me shook my senses back together. My eyelids fluttered open, and I spun around to find the owner of the voice. A handsome young man was standing a few feet away from me and he seemed curious as to what I was doing.


"Oh... uhm... hi." I said, a bit dazzed. I was tired, and who was this boy again?


"What are you doing, Eunmi? Watching your locker rot?" He joked playfully. 


" Hahaha... I'm just checking some stuff..." I said, not exactly knowing how to respond. The atmosphere was a bit too stuffy for me and it made me uncomfortable.


He held his gaze on mine and tilted his head a bit. "Hey are you okay, Eunmi? You're acting a little weird... and you seem a little red." 


"Ah! No. I'm completely fine!" I said waving my hands.


"Well if you say so... I'll walk you to class." He took my hand and started to drag me to the around but abruptly stopped, taking me by surprise. 


"You're hand is burning!" he said, with worry in his eyes. With his free hand, he gently felt my forehead for a moment before assuming that I had a fever. It might have been the fever but my cheeks felt warmer when he touched my forehead. 


But wait, a fever? On the day after break ended?

"Lets go to the nurse." When he started to lead me to the office with his back facing me, I was given my chance to think about who he was.

 

Who is this person? Eunmi must have mentioned his name... Jihoo? ... No... Woohyun? ... No... Kai...? ... Oh! I think I know!


"Taemin!" I nearly shouted.


He stopped to face me with curiousity. 


"Uhm. Nevermind. I forgot..." I quickly made up a weak excuse, and mentally face palmed right after I said it. But at least I knew who he was now. I knew spending all that time with Eunmi and cramming all the information about her wouldn't be such a big waste. I grinned to myself but stopped shortly because I felt light headed.


He pulled my hand a little, wanting me to keep going. I obeyed and we finally reached the office.


I was with the nurse while Taemin was waiting in the front office. 


"That's right Sweetie, you have a fever, and a pretty high one too." The nurse showed me the gray skin-reading thermometer.


"102.4..." I read out loud. I lowered my head immediately after and quietly spoke. "But I can't skip another day of school or it'll hurt my grade.


She gazed at me with sympathy. "I'm sorry but it's school rules... Students must not attend school if they are sick..."
