“Hyorin-ah, you are the leader.”YG said after he stared at your group for a while.

You were standing in one of the YG dance practice rooms and just finished showing YG your potential debut song choreography. The 5 of you stood nervously as he continued talking.

“I don’t pick leaders based on age you know,”YG continued,”So you should know I have a lot of expectations from you. Don’t make me regret it.”
“Yes sir.”You bowed, thankful. You didn’t have to be leader, but it was something you wanted and worked hard for.
“That being said you are set to debut in a month.”He smiled mischievously.
Your group gasped and looked at each other surprised and he added,”Today you start recording the teasers and main MV. We will continue MV recordings as preparation continues at the same time. If you can’t handle it you won’t debut and train for another year. Then we’ll do another evaluation to see if you’re ready. Got it?” He stood up with his team behind him following.
“Yes sir! Thank you!”You all said together and bowed again as he smirked pleased, and left the room. 

After the room cleared out and it was just your team you all turned to each other and squealed. Normally you didn’t like that but you were so excited you couldn’t help it.

“Omo!”Insook cried,”We’re going to debut!” Insook was the closest one to your age and you were best friends. Even though you weren’t officially leader unti now, she and you took care of the group like big sisters.
“Congrats for leader Unnie,”Bibi smiled,”I knew it would be you or Insook unnie.” Bibi was the makenae of the group and was very cute. Of course your group, like the rest of YG, is suppose to be a charismatic group but she was just naturally like that.
“Thanks,”You smiled back,”I will try my hardest to lead us well.”
“Ew that sounds so practiced,”Jiyeon laughed,”Like you just did an interview.” Jiyeon was the middle aged member and was also your favorite member to be sarcastic with. She didn’t take things personally so you guys joked around a lot. But that’s only for people she knows, Jiyeon tends to be quiet and to herself in general.
“Yah,”You snickered,”We have to start practicing you know, why not start now?” 
“I can’t believe we start recording our first music video today!”Eunseo gasped,”That’s crazy!” Eunseo was the second youngest of the group and she was the funny one of the group. She actually considered being a gag woman if the singing career didn’t work out for her.

As you all continued talking a man walked in and put a big bag on a bench in the dance room while you all turned to look who it was.

“Hello.”He greeted,”I am Minhyuk, I will be your manager.”
“Oh, Hello!”You started and bowed with the girls following,”Please take care of us well.”
“Of course,”He nodded as you all came back up,”Please introduce yourselfs. Your group, what your in charge of, etc.”
Lined up you started,”I am Hyorin, the leader of the group, main rapper, and a main vocal.”
“I am Insook,”Insook continued,”I am a main vocal and the main dancer.”
“I am Jiyeon,”Jiyeon said,”I am a sub vocal and sub rapper.”
“I am Bibi,”Bibi smiled,”I am the maknae of the group and a sub vocal.”
“And I am Eunseo,”Eunseo finished,”I am a main vocal.”
“Oh no face of the group?”Minhyuk manager joked.
“We felt that we should shine together,”Insook spoke up,”So we decided on no face for the group.”
“Tsk,”Jiyeon snickered quietly to you but loud enough for Insook to hear,”You both practice interview answers together? Huhuhu.”
As you tried to hold in a laugh Minhyuk manager smiled,”So you’re the comedian I’m guessing Jiyeon?”

Surprised and nervous, all three of you stopped laughing and exchanged quick glances. (He could hear that?! He’s half way across the room and she whispered so quietly!)

“I’m sorry.”Jiyeon quickly bowed in apology,”I-”
“No it’s fine,”Minhyuk chuckled as he waved his hand,”I prefer to have someone funny so schedule trips won’t be boring.” That helped relax you all a bit.
“However, that being said,”He continued still smiling,”You should know that I am very aware of things and will see and hear everything you do. So don’t try to do anything you’re not suppose to.” Your hair on your neck stood up again.
“So, first thing first!”He grinned happily as he looked at a notebook he was holding,”We are going to head to the salon and then the MV recording area. Keep in mind that WINNER will also be there, they are recording their last MV today for their comeback. Ok?”

You all nodded but were shaking with excitement. This is all you have been dreaming of the past 4 years you had been training. Minhyuk manager waved his hand again to tell you all to follow him and he took you outside were you saw a van waiting for you. 

“This is your van now.”He said as he opened the doors,”This is what will transport you around from now on, understood?” 

You all nodded and before you know it Bibi ran into the van and called a seat.

“Ya! You can’t just take a seat like that!”Eunseo said following her,”You let your unnies pick first!”
“If that was the case Hyorin-ah and I should have went first!”Insook hissed following behind.
“Wait for me!”Jiyeon called entering the van,”Eunseo you’re suppose to sit with me so we can listen to your music together!”

You were behind Jiyeon and noticed Minhyuk manager smiling to himself as he opened the passenger side door. He looked over and you couldn’t help but quickly look away, he caught you off guard and staring at him.

“Ah sorry!”You quickly apologized.
“It’s okay.”He laughed,”I can tell I’m going to have a lot of fun with your group. Let’s go shall we?”

You nodded and got into your seat. This was it. You were going to be a kpop idol. And you couldn’t stop smiling. (We’re almost there.)

You all already changed, had your hair and make up done at the salon, and were pulling up to a huge warehouse. After the van came to a stop you all got out and saw all the costumes, props, and stage sets surrounding you. PDs and stylists running around, hearing music play, and just seeing the cameras made you freeze. It was really happening. You were going to debut. Minhyuk manager lead you all inside were he met with the senior PD and writers, alll whom then walked up to you. 

“Good morning,”The PD greeted,”Who’s the leader?”
“I am.”You answered.
“Okay good,”He nodded and started writing on his clip board,”And what is your groups name?”
“24/7.”You replied.
“24/7? What does that mean?”He asked, clearly curious.
“It means music is everything to us. 24/7.”You explained.
“Ah ok.”He nodded again,”Alright so listen up, the way it works is we are going to record the choreography first. Multiple times as a group and then as focus shots. After that the single shots will be recorded and then you guys are done. That being said, do you see that half of the warehouse?” You all looked over to where he was pointing and spotted WINNER recording their music video. “Your sunbaes are here recording too so don’t be a bother to them okay?”He warned,”They’ve been recording through the night due to their schedule.”

Honestly you were excited to talk to them, whenever they had a chance. You all trained with them in the past but MINO and you had been training together for the longest. Granted MINO joined YG a short time before he debuted, but you had trained with him at Stardom when he was still a member of Block B. You had left Stardom for YG and he left to join BOM, before he left BOM and joined WINNER.

“Shall we get started?”The PD smiled.
“Yes!”You all answered excited.

Surprisingly for your first time recording, you all had it down and it was going along nicely. After about 4 hours of just choreography the PD had released you all for a break before starting the single shots.While the girls sat on a couch off to the side with you you laid your head back and looked at the ceiling. (I can’t believe it. This is it.) You smiled to yourself when you heard a voice call you. It was Mino.

“Hyorin-noona!”He smiled as you turned to look at him. He had the same smile you had seen change over the years as he matured and got older.
“Mino-yah!”You smiled back as you got up and walked over to him,”How have you been?!” You guys exchanged a hug and sat at a near by table.
“I’ve been good!”He said,”Just been getting stuff ready for our comeback. What are you doing here? You’re recording a music video?”
“Yeah,”You nodded,”We’re set to debut in a month. Apparently this is a test from YG. If we can’t handle the schedules and pressure he said we won’t debut and will have to train for another year.”
“Wah,”Mino sighed,”YG hyung is always like that. But I’m sure you guys will be fine. It feels surreal huh?”
“Oh yeah,”You agreed,”But I’m so excited and ready for this. Noona is already old you know?”
“Ah noona, shut up.”He joked,”You look like you just graduated high school. You’ll be fine. I’ll bet you’ll be a fan favorite.”
“Yeah whatever.”You joked,”CL sunbae-nim is the same age as me and she started when we were 18.”
“Stop comparing yourself. We just should have auditioned for YG first before any other company.”He reminded.
“I guess. I don’t regret our time at Stardom though. It was a lot of fun.”You shrugged,”You talk to Zico today?”
“Yeah, want me to tell him you say hi?”Mino asked. You nodded.

As trainees they allow cell phones for family but that’s about it. You have to stay off social media and anything that will let people into the world of training basically. Granted you were friends with Mino and Zico for a very long time but you always tried to do the right thing so you only used your cell strictly for family. 

After Mino texted Zico real quick he looked up at you,”I hope your ready.”
“For what?”You wondered. You assumed it was something about debuting but then Minho surprised you.
“Big Bang is coming after us.”He told,”They’re starting to record their Japanese music videos so after this last single recording of Taehyun, we’re leaving and they’re arriving.” You suddenly felt nervous and he could tell.
“They’re pretty cool, don’t worry about it too much.”Mino chuckled as he saw your anxious expression,”Not going to lie it’s still sort of awkward for us but they’re nice.”
“I just-”You started when you saw Seungyoon walk up.
He greeted you,”Sorry to interrupt.”
“Oh no it’s fine.”You assured,”Don’t worry about it.”
“Ah Hyorin-noona this is Seungyoon,”Mino introduced,”Seungyoon this is Hyorin-noona. She is the leader of the girl group that is rumored to debut.”
“Hello.”Seungyoon greeted polietly,”I’m sorry to interrupt again but Mino we have to go. Taehyun finished, all our stuff is ready, and Big Bang is almost here.”
“Alright, I’ll see you later noona.”Mino said getting up from the table,”Let’s try to have lunch some time okay?” He smiled his cute eye smile that you remembered seeing for many years, but this time something was different. You didn’t know what it was, but it was there. 
“Yeah.”You agreed a little flustered,”We will.”
They started walking away when you saw Seungyoon lean into Mino’s ear. You could have sworn you heard the word dating.
“No! She’s an old friend.”Mino hissed quietly, but obviously you heard,”Don’t start rumors got it?” You couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed, but it wouldn’t be the first time people assumed you two were dating.
“Unnie!”Jiyeons voice rang behind you,”After me it’s your turn for single shots okay?”
“Yes!”You answered looking back at her,”Thank you!”

Her face disappeared and you walked over to where the rest of the girls were sitting. As you plopped down you rested your head on Insook’s shoulders and she laid back so you were a bit more comfortable.

“Hyorin-unnie,”Bibi asked as she scooted closer, squeezing Insook a bit,”How do you know Mino sunbae-nim?” She squinted her eyes before she whispered,”Are you guys dating?”
“Yah.”Insook snickered,”Why would you jump to that conclusion? A girl and guy can’t talk?” You laughed a little. Insook was like Mino and joined the group just last year so before she joined YG she was just a fangirl and Mino was her favorite in WINNER. 
“We’re just friends. I trained with him in another company before we both ended up at YG.”You explained,”And if you guys were star struck about Mino wait for a little bit.”
Insook looked at you curious,”What does that mean?”
“Big Bang is recording a music video here too. They’re already on their way.”You told.
“Big Bang?!”Eunseo gasped, looking up from an old magazine prop,”They’re coming here?! Now?!”
“I think she just said that?”Jiyeon joked as she walked over,”Hyorin-unnie it’s your turn.” 

You nodded, got up, and headed to where the crew and PD were. The PD was reviewing Jiyeons clip and you couldn’t help but look over his shoulder. Jiyeon had so much charisma and you couldn’t help but feel proud of her. Well, you were proud of your whole group. You couldn’t help it but you always viewed te girls as your younger sisters and they have come a long way. After he was finished the PD looked over at you and started giving direction.

“Alright you’re the leader so I expect this to go smoothly. Since you are main vocal and main rapper you have 2 separate shots to do. We’re going to get the vocals out the way first because those are always the easiest. Then we’ll do your rap parts, understood? And make sure you are just flowing with charisma. This isn’t some flowery love song. This is a female empowerment song, the stuff YG is best at.”

You nodded and an assistant led you to your spot. Make up did a quick touch up and the music started. You did the lip syncing perfectly and then your rap portion started. 

“Do you want to lip sync the rap to or do you need to rap it?”The PD asked behind the camera as he reviewed your vocal portions.
“I prefer to rap it,”You replied,”It makes it easier.”
“Good job!”The PD nodded,”I prefer that way, it is more real that way. Ready?”

You nodded and again and the music started. While Eunseo’s vocal portion played you did a bit of free style dancing and waited for your portion to play. Finally it started playing and you start spitting out the bars you were so well known for. As you rapped you were reminiscing of when you got into YG. Stardom had released some snippets of yours already and you had been featured in multiple underground tracks, but a viral video of you rapping had gone around. That along with your audition got you in. As you got to the middle portion of your rap you noticed 2 figures watching you from the side. You shook yourself out of it and finished your rap.

“Cut!”PD called,”That was good Hyorin-shii but we’re going to rerecord the last portion okay? Are you cold?”
You felt bad it didn’t go smoothly,”Oh no, I’m sorry. I just got a little distracted.”

As the PD reviewed the shot you looked up at the 2 figures again and you froze. It was GDragon and Taeyang. You saw them whisper when they noticed you were looking. Your heart stopped and you quickly looked away. (Ah! I probably look like a weirdo just staring at them! AHHHHHH!) You felt your face get hot with embarrassment and you quickly looked at Insook. She was already looking at you, obviously noticing your sudden nervousness. You quickly tried pointing in G-Dragon and Taeyang’s direction with your eyes and then your eyes widened with irritation when you saw her turn to look in their direction, so obvious. Luckily, with your peripheral vision, you saw that they didn’t notice but Insook sure saw them. Her face went white and she quickly looked back at you with big eyes. You tried so hard not to laugh. Insook quickly turned to the other girls and quickly tapped on their laps. After she got their attention she pointed at GD and Taeyang and the other girls froze with her. 

“Alright this last shot and you guys are done, okay Hyorin-shii?”PD called again. 

You nodded and took a deep breath to calm down. Quickly taking a glance you noticed they were still standing there. (Ok, no. They’re just watching. This is your debut. You’re not going to mess up recording just because they are here. This is it.) Knowing that YG threatened to not debut you, you suddenly felt your motivation come back. Nothing was going to distract you or get in your way. The music started and your rap portion came on. The charisma poured out of you and when you finished the PD clapped.

“And that’s a wrap!”He called,”We are done!” 

All of the crew and workers stood up and started taking stuff down, moving stuff, just getting stuff ready for the next recordings as you sighed with relief. Totally forgetting they were still there you looked in their direction and saw them whispering when they noticed you looking. That’s when GD smiled at you.
