“And your new babe?” Ha Na asked, her back facing him as she placed the knife in the dishwasher.
"Who?" Jungkook demanded.
“Your fiancée? Will she be okay with us going together?" she turned around, facing him again, waist leaning against the counter.
Jungkook didn't get to answer because then the front door was opened and shut and soft footsteps could be heard in the hall. Ha Na raised her brows with a smile playing on her lips knowingly at him.
"Could that be her?" she whispered excitedly, eyes darting to the still empty doorway of the kitchen.
Jungkook stood there, trying to keep his face as motionless as possible. ! In less than 10 seconds Taehyung would be in the kitchen and Ha Na would obviously want to know why he was there. Why Kim Taehyung was at Jeon Jungkook’s house when they did not like each other and why he had not rung the bell, but walked in like he owned the place.
"What if it was?" he heard himself ask. The ?! That was not what he had wanted to say, not that he had had anything to retort with, but it surely wasn’t that.
"Then I want to see the , you dumped me for!" she turned her head to the entrance the same moment Taehyung entered the kitchen, typing something in his phone.
He seemed to notice their presence in the kitchen because he stopped in his tracks and looked up at the two exes. This was definitely not the way he had pictured his afternoon to end up.
"Kim Taehyung-sshi?" Ha Na mumbled confused, eyes goggling at the orange haired boy, mouth agape.
"You dumped me for him?" she hissed at Jungkook pointedly.
Jungkook's eyes almost popped out of their sockets, but he managed to remain composed, even though he felt like he was about to throw up once again. Today was definitely not his day.
"Am I interrupting something?" Taehyung asked, obviously sensing the awkwardness in the room. What was Jungkook's ex-doing at his home? Were they back together?
His eyes roamed around the room and dropped at the still open dishwasher, he also caught the smell of food in the air. Great, crashed a silly reunion of the exes and now he probably had to answer stupid questions from the chit that was staring at him like he owed her an explanation for -blocking.
"No, we were just talking about you." The girl answered his question, seeming to have recovered from whatever shock she might have had.
“You were?" the older boy tilted his head and raised a brow, his eyes shifting to Jungkook. Had the younger boy told the truth about their relationship? He would not be surprised if they were back together then it was a given for Jungkook to be honest to the girl.
Jungkook seemed to have come back to the present hearing Taehyung’s question. "No, we were talking about someone else, but she misunderstood."
The younger realized at that moment that he only had two options; either to come clean or lie to the bone.
Taehyung's brows fell, pursing his lips. He noticed that the girl’s eyes were trained onto him all the while. She was plainly checking him out and he tried not to let her know that he was aware of her not subtle behavior.
"But since you're here for whatever reasons, do you happen to know who he's dating, this mystery person?" Ha Na asked, her eyes meeting Taehyung’s, a smirk on her face. So, she had known that he was aware but had continued nonetheless.
Taehyung was not new to such behavior; he was a model, after all, something like this was part of his job, but he had thought that she would, at least, have the decency to be subtle about it, but oh, well. He didn’t blame her for it.
"He’s dating someone?" Taehyung inquired, gaze wandering back to Jungkook. Although he took in what the girl was saying and it looked like he was conversing with her, his words were directed towards the other boy in the kitchen.
He was? People had said that Jungkook had dumped his girlfriend for someone else, but so far he hadn't gotten the impression of it being the case. But the younger had mentioned her cheating on him. He fought the urge to rake his hair; he didn’t care to understand their complex love story.
"Guess you don't know." Ha Na murmured
