I'm probably going to regret staying up this late, when I have to wake up in like four hours to go to school (what am I doing?)

But I finished my tests and presentations and I felt like doing something none school-like and Tada!! I still have one more oral presentation on Friday, but it's never too early to celebrate xDD

Anyways, this is a short chapter, but there'll be a follower up at the end of the week, coz this week ain't over yet :D

Hae Lye concluded that she didn't like her brother’s ex-girlfriend, when the said girl showed up at their house, a day after their encounter with her at the golf centre, baring gifts with the false excuse that her mother wanted her to bring them over. Dinner had been in motion and their mother had invited the girl to stay over for the meal and wait for Taehyung since he was to arrive soon- great.

Still feeling petty about her brother’s escape the other day, she’d decided not to warn him about the guest at home, certain that if he was on his way, he’d turn right back around and not show up, leaving them with the girl once again- that was not going to happen. She was not going to go through that awkwardness again while her brother cowered away. Her brother was to face his past and deal with it, not them.

She knew he’d be mad that no one had warned him, but how long was he going to hide? He’d ran off the other day with Jungkook claiming that they had some things to take care of, but they all knew that he’d avoided his ex and Jungkook-Oppa had been his accomplice.

Unfortunately for her, dinner wasn't anywhere ready and their mother, upon the arrival of the two boys, had forced them to sit in the leaving room and converse. As Hae Lye had predicted, her brother had not been ecstatic of the surprise, but he had played it off and had disappeared with Jungkook seconds after they’d sat in the living room.

His ex didn’t seem bothered by the not so warm welcome or by the fact that the two boys had left the room and had been gone for over fourteen minutes- Hae Lye had been counting; it’s how long she had had to sit in that room and listen to her ‘Unni’ go on and on about herself and her adventures in Europe.

Did she always talk this much? - And mostly about herself?

This was not how Hae Lye remembered her, but again, she was never super close with the Unni. It had been Tae Gi who had gone ‘Noona this, Noona that.’

Hae Lye felt like she was suffocating in the room and was minutes away from pulling someone’s hair, not hers- she likes her hair just fine. She set her glass on the small table beside the couch she was sitting on and stood up. 

"Where are you going?" Tae Gi asked, shifting his attention away from the pretty Noona since her arrival in the house.

She ignored her brother and exited the room. There was no intended destination; she’d just wanted to leave the room. Matching in the hallway muttering profanities her mother would send her to the convent for and probably end her acting career; she was too distracted that she didn’t see the figure walking in her direction.

"Whoa, watch out, young lady!" strong hands halted her before she could bump into the person.

She peered up from her tablet to find Jungkook smiling down at her.

Her eyes widened and she felt heat creep on her face. She hated it whenever her parents called her young lady, but Jungkook-Oppa calling her that…she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her.

“Oppa,” she tried to smile, but her face formed more of an awkward grimace and she wanted to stomp her foot and cry. Why was she embarrassing herself in front of him? Now she really did want to pull her hair out.

"Sorry, it kinda got stifling in there," she uttered without thinking, the blush never leaving her face. Okay, so maybe, just maybe she had a tiny crush on Jungkook, but who could blame her?
