A Dysfunctional Couple Part II
The Golden Ticket To Willy Wonka's FactoryBelieve it or not, even I'm getting impatient with the very small Taekook interactions :D
Anyways enjoy!! :D
Jungkook looked away first, eyes darting into the hall and then at the digital clock hanging above the kitchen entrance."Crap!" he rushed to get the door as the bell rang a second time. He had forgotten about the food he'd ordered. But it wasn’t his fault, they took longer than expected, you couldn’t blame him for forgetting.
He opened the door and a tall thin girl in a uniform and scooter helmet stood there holding a paper bag, her pale face slightly flushed, lips pressed together, probably worry about the delay. Her eyes widened when she saw Jugkook and hang in the air.
Jungkook realized that the guards had let her in, and remembered that had he had forgotten to tell them to bring the food to the house. He had informed them of a delivery, and he had assumed that they’d understood what he’d meant, but he had to be specific next time. Not that he was planning on getting this drunk ever again.
"You made me cook when you had ordered food already?" Ha Na's voice came from behind him. He tilted his head, a smile playing on his lips. "I didn't ask you to cook, you volunteered yourself and I didn't know when the food was coming and I was starving."
"The food is late because I confused the addresses," the girl spoke, almost inaudibly.
"I couldn't let you burn down the kitchen!" Ha Na responded ignoring the girl standing at the door.
"It's okay, you're here now," Jungkook smiled at the girl, making her gasp and blush, then he turned to Ha Na who was now standing beside him at the door; "I've never burnt down a kitchen or any building."
"No, you only washed a full chicken with soup." He knew what she was doing. She was getting back at what he had pulled in the kitchen minutes ago. They both knew that the girl standing outside the door was smitten by Jungkook. And if she had not already realized who he was then it was his looks that had her taking heavy breaths on his porch.
But still Jungkook couldn’t stop the red creeping on the tips of his ears; but he recovered from the second-hand embarrassment with a playful chuckle and soon after the girl laughed along, louder than he had expected.
"It was an accident!" This time, he winked at the girl subtly and saw how her pupils dilated and she in a breath.
He could feel Ha Na’s disapproving look beside him, but he didn’t care. He was going to have some fun before he’s forced to sit back in the kitchen and have ‘the talk’ with his ex.
"An accident that shouldn't repeat itself,” she said and then turned to the delivery girl. “But unfortunately, whenever he's in the kitchen he does something bizarre." She made a face.
Jungkook shook his head; "She can’t get over the fact that all she can make is pasta and I’m a far better cook than her," he reached for the paper bag in the girls hands, which started trembling the moment she noticed Jungkook reaching out to her. hung open and Jungkook swore he noticed something wet in her eyes, but he was done playing and he felt dizzy all over sudden. He had to sit down for a moment.
When the girl finally let go of the bag- he had had to pull a little forcefully the bag for the girl to let go- he thanked her and turned back around into the house. “Tell my fake girlfriend to pay you!” he called behind him.
"Gimpab; why aren't I surprised…" Ha Na mused taking a bite from a yellow pickled radish slice as she eyed the boy who was now stuffing himself with Gimpab and kimchi.
"How much did it cost?" Jungkook wanted to know.
"Not much for me to hold a grudge."
Jungkook knew that Ha Na was the sort of girl that was driven by her pride just like him, she liked being the hero in her own story, her own knight, so there was no way in hell she was going to ask him to pay back the money for the Gimpab. Paying had given her an upper hand and made her feel good about herself.
"But we aren't dating anymore, so you can't casually buy me food or anything."
‘Are you telling me that all the other people that give you presents are your friends?’ this would have been the question, one should have asked but this was Ha Na.
She just gave him a sly smile. "I was hoping that this would be the start of our reconciliation.”
He pursed his lips, letting her words hang in the air. Did she really think she could get back on his good side by buying him food or cooking for him?
"You don't regret cheating on me," he finally said. It was not a question, but a statement. She knew him well enough.
"We were broken up," she stated evenly.
"We were taking a break," he corrected as calmly as he could.
She shook her head. "You kicked me out of here, telling me to never show up here again, remember? At that time, I really believed that we were through."
"And yet you still showed your face here," he said cynically.
Ha Na knew Jungkook very well and although the brat wasn't throwing a fit, he was boiling inside. Jungkook was the type of person that would laugh with you while he figured out ways to ruin you. He was able to control his temper in any circumstances. He was no drama queen, showing weakness was not his nature.
"I didn't sleep with Mingyu," she told him annoyed.
"Of course, you didn't," he made no effort to hide his sarcasm.
"It’s the truth, I didn't sleep with him." She hissed at him.
"I don't care, we were broken up,” he shrugged.
She sighed irritated, her hand tightening on the chopsticks she was wedging between her fingers. She wanted nothing else other than to use them to wipe Jungkook’s smirk off his face. He may not be a drama queen, but he was a grade A .
"What I meant is...you misunderstood. You didn't give me a chance to explain my side of the story; you just jumped into conclusions," She said through gritted teeth. They were going to settle this and she was going to come out the bigger person out of this failed relationship.
"Alright, what's your side of the story?" Jungkook ushered for her to get along. At this point
