What If's
The Biography of a VampireOf course the next morning someone just had to barge in and destroy Jina's dreamless sleep.
“Wake up! It’s late!”
She opened one eye to look at the unfortunate soul who dared to wake her. It was Emi so she couldn’t do anything. The human left with a proud smirk and loud steps on the carpet. Jina looked at the clock beside the bed and saw it was actually very early: 7 in the freaking morning! She groaned and got into the bathroom. She was still exhausted and would have preffered more silence and less overreacting. When the vampire entered into her room with a towel around her thin frame she found her father leaning against her desk.
“You left early last night.” He started without having an issue that his daughter was there only in a towel.
Jina glanced at herself before she took a few steps back, using the bathroom door as a cover.
“After what I found out and how my life turned out to be, I think it’s good I went in the first place." She answered bluntly.“What happened with you and the other two charity cases?”
Jitae rolled his eyes and scoffed.
“Well, long story short, we got our dates for today or tomorrow. Depends on each bachelor.” Jina nodded, signing for him to continue. “Joonyoung and Hongbin behaved well. No one died.”
“I want to know about the dates. Who’ve you got?”
He raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
“My date is a nice lady. If you want more details go ask Hakyun or Myungsoo.”
“Be careful what you tell me, dad. I might do it.”
He shrugged.
Time flew past fast and nothing really happened home, except the usual yells from among Jitae's family.
It was getting really loud and Jina's senses were getting overwhelmed by the guests. She seriously considered killing them and throwing them in the forest more than once.
When Jina's phone rung she really hoped it was anyone as long as he or she would want her somewhere, anywhere.
“Please, tell me it’s not about clothes or make up or boys.” Jina answered her phone annoyed.
“You know me too well.” Yuna chuckled. “I wanted to tell you that we’re meeting at Fey’s to rehea-well actually to learn. Be there at 2 o’clock.” She announced and hung up.
Jina looked checked the time with a lot of hope in her eyes but it was almost 12pm. She groaned and fell on the bed. She raised her head when she heard Joonyoung come through the balcony.
“Tough morning?” He asked bemusedly. Jina groaned which seemed terribly satisfying for her brother. “I take it as a yes. From my point of view you can only escape if you come with me over Lee’s.”
“From my point of view I would be the only girl in a house full of creatures. Hakyun is an unpredictable vampire. Myungsoo is a man who would annoy the hell out of me to the infinite and Hongbin would wallow in self pity before trying to make everything better, make me happy and struggle with this painful blame that I went crazy because of him.” Jina explained as she raised and crossed her legs under her.
Joonyoung stood there speechless. Her point of view was definitely very logical.
“Alright. We’re all a bunch of hormonal depraved erts. Maybe it’s not such a good idea for you to live with us but from time to time it would be nice if you’d just come over.”
“What do you mean live with us? You don’t live with them, Joonyoung. You’re just camping there for a week.” She suddenly became moody.
Joonyoung sighed and sat next to her on the bed. He let himself fall back and turned his head to look at his sister. They stood there staring at each other for almost ten minutes until he started to talk.
“I want to move in with them.”
Jina didn’t really know how to react. Her brother just announced he wants to move out when he's still in school and Jitae was a little stressed over the whole new vampires coming to town thing.
“You know that Myingsoo has a big trail of behind him and that’s why those vampires want to come and rip his head off, right?” She asked in her sisterly stern voice. Joonyoung nodded. “You do realize they will kill anything that comes between them and their mission, right?” He nodded again which annoyed her,“You won’t be safe, moron!” She snapped and punched him quite hard in the ribs.
“It’s really cute that you care Jina but I’m a big guy. I am your older brother even if I don’t usually act like it.”
"Well you found a bad moment to act like one." She started angrily, “Joon, we always say they're coming, they want to kill, they want to mate but they don’t know I’m alive. However, when they will enter the town…”
“They did already.”
Well that was a surprise.
"Yeah. I forgot to tell you. Actually, that’s the reason I chose to visit you. They’re here. Hakyun thinks they might lose themselves in the crowd but we should be able to track them down somehow.” He furrowed his eyebrows, not really sure of how they will be able to protect themselves.
“What will happen when they’ll figure out that I’m alive? What will happen when they will see me?”
Jina was asking legit questions and she was worried for good reasons which seemed to have caught Joonyoung unprepared.
“I guess we will have to hide you.”
She raised an eyebrow, “How? Are you going to put a bag on my head?”
He shrugged, "I don’t know but we will find something.”
He smiled nicely and left the same way he came. Jina rolled her eyes and fell back on the bed when her phone rang again.
“Where are you?!”
Hearing Yuna's voice Jina immediately glanced at the clock: it was almost 2 pm.
Time does fly fast when you know you won’t die unexpectedly, Jina thought to herslef.
“I’m sorry. I’ll be there in a flash.” Jina mumbled as she was walking already down the stairs.
“I would pay to see that.”
Jina smirked, "Deal."
On the other side, already at Fey’s was Myungsoo. He was looking around for his ‘lovely’ date. Both he and Jitae chose to have their dates on the next day while Hakyun preferred the night. Myungsoo had a slight idea why the older vampire wanted that but he didn’t say anything.
The young vampire rolled his eyes when he didn’t catch a glimpse of the girl that paid for a date with him.
“Women…” He mumbled.
There was a time schedule they had to go with and that woman was late; very late. Myungsoo wanted to get it over with and go home and relax or maybe call Jina but no, what’s-her-name had to be late. He glanced at the bartender and paid for another drink.
The door to the bar opened and got Myungsoo curious so he turned to look over. There were two persons that entered and one was his favorite girl in the world. He got up and walked towards his former crush with a pretty smile on his face. The supposed date blushed as she walked towards him only Myungsoo passed the stranger and went straight to Jina.
“What are you doing here?” He asked her.
She shrugged. “I had five minutes to arrive here where Seulgi should be.”
Myungsoo nodded. He did see Seulgi in the back with a few other humans, talking loudly and dancing.
“What are you doing here?” She asked back smirking.
He rolled his eyes and glanced at the female sitting at the bar, watching them.
“That’s my date. She paid good money for me. Lucky human.” Myungsoo muttered knowing she could hear him clearly.
“Oh, lucky you.” She shook her head bemusedly and pushed him towards the bar. “I’ll go look for Seulgi. You go to your date.”
He looked down at the vampire girl with a glint in his eyes, one that Jina knew from somewhere before.
“Fine but you owe me for doing this.”
“I don’t. You wanted to go to the party and you wanted the attention.”
He pouted but Jina didn’t seem to care. She smiled sarcastically and went further into the bar. Myungsoo watched her until she disappeared after a corner before he glanced at his date. He couldn’t do anything but sigh and hope she won’t be too pushy. He didn’t want to kill anyone for the time being.
••••••••
Yuna was surprised when Jina arrived after exactly five minutes.
“I’m here and like I said, it took me five minutes. Don’t forget you owe me lunch.”
Jina walked up on the stage and took her place in the team. Not far was Myungsoo who had a perfect view over the stage.
••••••••
The entire rehearsal went worse than Jina could imagine. Firstly, Seulgi was indeed very harsh when it came to her dance and from some unknown reason started to express her anger on Jina. She could as well stand and just breathe and Seulgi would start complaining.
“Stop!” Seulgi yelled, stopping abruptly the song again. She looked at each teenager and her eyes landed on Jina who was trying to stay calm.
On the other side, Myungsoo blocked his date’s voice completely and listened to the girls.
“Jina you don’t even try! Where’s the passion? Where’s your will to dance? I don’t want to be ashamed when we’ll get on stage.”
Jina rolled her eyes. “I’m trying. I actually do but you seem to complain about anything I do.”
Seulgi glared at her and walked closer. “Maybe you should stop disappearing with Hongbin and pay attention to your friends.”
Jina’s eyebrow twitched. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I mean exactly what I say. Maybe you shouldn’t go with your boyfriend who knows where and come to school where your friends are. Then you might actually have an idea of what we are doing here.”Seulgi complained before she turned to her laptop.
Jina’s eyes flashed red when Seulgi turned her back. Minho saw how pissed Jina was getting and he glanced expectantly at Myungsoo. The vampire didn’t even blink.
The situation was getting really bad for Jina. Her vision blurred to the point she could see just the mere human that dared to insult her. She felt something inside snap and a wave of memories come on her mind. The vampire fixed Seulgi with a deadly glare and hissed. She started to walk slowly towards the human ready to snap her neck. The mad vampire was ready to grab Seulgi when Myungsoo flashed there and caught her waist before he dragged her out of there. Minho wasn’t too surprised of what happened but he was curious what will happen next.
