Ch. [26]
Rain of BladesHyukjae yawned as he sat up on his bed. He pouted as he reached his hand further and turned his alarm off. He stood up slowly, stretching his arms and neck before standing in front of the mirror, frowning deeply at his image.
It had been already three weeks since he fought Cho Kyuhyun and there was still that cut on his cheek that wasn’t healing at all.
There was something new that day though, because the scar seemed to be darker than before.
Hyukjae pursed his lips tightly, reaching his hand up to gently caress his cut with his fingers, flinching at the slight pain. As soon as he touched it, Hyukjae’s mind was flashing with blurry images of his abdomen stained with something dark.
Hyukjae blinked and he looked at the scar again before pulling up his shirt, raising an eyebrow for the things he was seeing. There was nothing in his abdomen, but he still ghosted his fingers through his skin, just to make sure.
The images of that huge stain were still in his mind and Hyukjae felt slightly confused. He closed his eyes as he tried to remember where he got them from but there was nothing that really told him what they meant. He opened his eyes again and saw his cheek. If he looked careful enough, there were small dark pointe along it and he frowned. Could it be because it was Kyuhyun the one who did it?
Sighing softly, Hyukjae took out a small band aid from his closet and placed it carefully over his cheek. He didn’t mind having scars in his face, but he didn’t want anyone to see that it was becoming dark.
It was already Friday and maybe he would go ask about it to his father in the weekend.
“Ah no,” Sungmin smiled slightly after Hyukjae asked him if they would go to the Lee’s mansion.
“Aside from you, Hyuk,” Donghae spoke. “We are not allowed to step on it if we have not been required. It seems like everything is fine so we do not need to go.”
Hyukjae nodded. “I’ll still go this weekend, I need to ask something to my father.”
“Have you had any news from the mansion?” Sungmin asked. “About the prisoner?”
Hyukjae looked up. “No,” he said, frowning. “But I really doubt he is still a prisoner, to be honest.”
Donghae bit his lower lip and let out a soft, nervous chuckle. “It’s been almost a month since he was caught,” he said. “Haven’t the Cho’s done something about it?”
“Since Cho acted from self-action, ignoring the pact the families had, the Cho’s can do nothing more than send messages asking for the prisoner to be freed,” Hyukjae laughed. “As if that would happen!”
Sungmin and Donghae let out a nervous laugh. “Yeah,” they simply said, finally turning around when the teacher came in.

Taemin followed Siwon, biting his lower lip. “Is he alright?” He asked when the taller finally stopped his tracks, in front of his own dorm.
Siwon looked at Taemin. He had seen already how dependable the little boy was from Kyuhyun and he didn’t know if he would be fine or not. “I don’t know,” he confessed, opening the door of his room. “I’ve been trying to contact his father to see if they have news, but I haven’t gotten a response yet.”
“It’s been almost a month,” Taemin said. “And Hyukjae has been changed, I cannot ask him.”
Siwon sighed deeply. He hadn’t been able to sleep at all thinking on everything that implied Kyuhyun losing his powers and Hyukjae’s father gaining it.
Of course, it would be the end of a war and a dispute that started hundreds of years before, but it would also mean only one man would rule the world and Siwon truly doubted that man was good enough to do so. He smiled apologetically to Taemin before coming into his room, leaving the smaller behind, playing with his fingers out of nervous.
Taemin bit his lips and looked around, quickly running away before a Lee would find him and try to kill him. Kyuhyun wasn’t there anymore to protect him and although his father did sent him to school and gave him all what he needed, it was sure he would never go against the family when they decided to take his life away from him.
It was dark already and Taemin went to the forest where he felt a little more secure than his own room. He sighed softly as he sat down against the trunk of a tree and hugged his knees firmly.
The noise of steps approaching made Taemin start to panic and he quickly hid behind the trunk, looking careful what was happening. He frowned as he saw Hyukjae coming closer and he felt himself tremble as he saw the other so determined.
“Who is hiding behind that tree?” Hyukjae asked and Taemin gasped.
Hyukjae ha
