Aera woke up to a loud bang. Her mother was home, and Aera’s lips tugged into a smile. “Mom?” She got up and looked for her mother.
She found her standing beside the window and puffing a cigarette while watching someone outside of their house. “That damn reporter!” Dahae muttered angrily. She then turned to her daughter. “Come on, tell him to get lost!” Dahae yelled, and Aera flinched.
She was still injured, but her mother grabbed her arms. As she tried to pull Aera up, the pain from her feet spread through her legs, and Aera stumbled while trying to save herself from falling. “Okay! Okay! I’ll do it, don’t push me,” she exclaimed. Aera carefully got up, and she managed limp down the stairs and out of the house to talk to the reporter.
“Ah, this again,” the same reporter whose camera she broke greeted rudely.
Aera looked down in frustration, she realized that being called a was really getting annoying. “Please stop pestering this house, mister.”
The reporter only smirked. “Young lady, secrets are meant to be revealed. Your mother will be going down, and you’re going right with her.” He then looked down at her bandaged feet and chuckled maniacally, “Serves you right,” before leaving.
Aera was about to argue back when she saw that someone was watching her. Kai was standing on the terrace while gazing over at her. He raised his eyebrows in a confused manner, and Aera was growing more frustrated.
Then, her front gate opened, and Sehun walked right in in a large, thick jacket. “Aera?”
Aera smiled as she remembered how he promised that he would take care of her until her feet were healed.
Upon seeing her, Sehun furrowed his brows. “What the hell are you doing here while wearing that?” He asked while wrapping his arm around her waist to steady her.
Aera grabbed his shirt to stop him from walking inside, and whispered, “Mom’s home.”
