CHAPTER twenty two

Aera pushed her way through the huge crowd of people waiting at the gate, and Sehun followed right behind her. There were a surprising number of people waiting for their loved ones to arrive, and all had expressions of joy, anticipation, and adoration on their faces as they met with those they waited for. Aera felt a sense of disappointment once again, for she was at the airport to wait for someone she hated from the bottom of her heart. However, the fact that she was here to support her one and only love was enough for her to stay.

As they reached the metal fence holding everyone away from the doors, Aera spotted Kai and Jaera waiting as well. They were talking, but it seemed that Jaera was not in a good mood. Her arms were crossed, and her lips were pulled into a frown. It confused Aera, since the last the time she saw the young girl, she was happy and bubbly.

As Aera and Sehun made their way to Kai and Jaera, the younger girl turned and waved happily. “Aera unnie! You’re here!”

Aera’s stone cold face relaxed on sight, “Hey, Jaera. How come you’re here?”

“My big doofus of a brother dragged me here,” she pouted.

Kai raised his eyebrows. “I dragged you here?”

“Obviously, I would never come pick up that woman myself if I ever had the choice!”

Aera’s eyes widened. She had no idea that there were other people who disliked Naeun as much as she did.

But before she could say anything, Kai beat her to it, “Jaera, watch what you’re saying.”

“Why should I? It’s not like she was ever nice to me! Even Sehun oppa knows this,” Jaera frowned before hugging Aera, eliciting a small squeak from the latter. “Aera is nice to me, so I like her very much!”

Aera smirked at Sehun, who just shrugged. He would never say it, but he did agree with Jaera a bit. Kai stared at Aera as well, and she felt his gaze. However, she refused to make eye contact with him, and instead placed all her attention on his younger sister.

The older female hugged Jaera back, “I like you too, Jaera.”

“Sehun! Kai!” a shrill voice cut through the air.

Both men turned to the sound, and their eyes lit up on sight. There was Naeun standing in all her pregnant glory, and she was decked out for the red carpet. Her silk dress was a light pink color, and she wore pearls on her ears and neckline. She smiled at them but then frowned at the sight of Aera and Jaera.

Aera’s own happiness dispersed the second she heard that voice. Oh, how she wanted to smack the girl. But as y as she wanted to be physically, she decided to hold back. She didn’t want to make Sehun upset again.

Naeun approached them and handed Sehun her coat, and being the gentleman he was, he also took her luggage. She also gave him a peck on the cheek before throwing a smirk at Aera, who reddened in rage. “How was the trip, Aera? I hope my Sehun hasn’t been giving you too much trouble.”
