CHAPTER twenty one

Sehun brought Aera home, and both decided to rest on the couch. The TV played the nightly news, but they didn’t pay attention at all. The hands were still intertwined, and Aera felt the happiest she ever felt in a long time.

Yet, thoughts of earlier in the day continued to plague her mind. Sehun also made a motion to get up. “Stay…” Aera whispered before Sehun could let go of her hand. She felt so torn, sad and guilty because she was using Sehun to feel normal again.

Sehun didn’t let go, and instead relaxed back onto the sofa. He also caressed her hands with his fingers. “Will you come with me to the airport to fetch her?” Sehun asked. He didn’t want Aera to think that she was alone.

“No,” Aera refused. Sehun heaved a sigh and rested his back on the sofa. He knew that Naeun won't like what he was going to do, but Aera also needed him. More importantly, he wanted to take care of her.

Seeing that Sehun did not reply, Aera rested her head on his shoulder. “Mr. Kim got me a gift.”

“Of course he did,” Sehun replied tersely.

“But I didn't see him. After his secretary came, his wife ended up shouting at me.”

“What?” Sehun asked, but he watched Aera shrug as if it didn't matter. However, he knew that she must have been feeling disappointed.
