CHAPTER ONE

。HAN AERA
When you want something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done.

The day is over and I'm ready to go to bed as I applied my favorite apple moisturizer on my legs, I heard my phone ringing inside of my purse. I know my best friend is calling but I am exhausted to the point that I decided I would talk to her tomorrow.

I have been alone in this empty apartment for six months - not that I minded - since I was alone in Korea too, therefore staying here in New York for a while isn't much different. I've been practically raising myself since I was 14 and I am used to it. It's always lonely and quiet even though my parents are still alive.

The ringing stops for a second before it rings again, I can mentally hear my best friend cursing at me as she waits for me to pick up. I don't know why I'm ignoring her though, I am usually very excited when she calls, but right now I feel unusually nervous.

My phone rings for the nth time and letting out an exasperated sigh, I gave up and slide my finger across the screen of my phone to finally answering her call.

"Yah, how long are you planning to making me wait? You know I'm busy, you idiot"

My lips curve into a smile upon hearing Krystal's voice, I know she's busy, she has a million part time jobs on her shoulders.

"Good evening to you too" I say sarcastically, but don't misunderstand, we're just like that.

"I need to talk to you, there's something you need to know!'' The is panicking, which means it's urgent. I didn't hesitate so I didn't want to interupt her.

"Sehun," She whispers as my throat restricts upon hearing his name, "he is getting married."

The world around me spins in slow motion as if I was to die any moment, and whatever was left in my stomach is urging to come back out.

"W-what?!" My voice peaks, and I wasn't sure if I was capable of speaking anymore.

"Sehun is getting married to someone else." I tried to find my voice, but nothing was working. It felt like my heart had been shattered.

"Aera? Are you still there? Are you still alive? Did you just jump out of the building?” I let out a fistful air stuck in my tightening chest before I could shout at my supposed best friend over the phone.

“Shut up Krystal, I'm going to kill you after I kill that imbecile,” I let my ear suffer more as she babbled through the phone, hiding the actual burning rage and sadness that was tormenting me. 

“I don’t know how she managed to do it! Maybe spread her legs as soon as Sehun talked to her!” My heart clench tightly again upon hearing his name. Oh Sehun; my childhood friend, my saviour, my greatest love, but it's always been like that; one sided. I have love him for t
