‘Did I hear wrongly? Or did Hyukjae… really confessed?’ She thought to herself with her eyes widened. Seeing that there’s no reaction from Hyun, Hyukjae moved in front of her and held onto her shoulder as he lowered himself to Hyun’s eye level.
‘Hyunnie, I love you. I’m not saying this just to make you stay. I’m saying this because I really meant it. I love you and I want to be with you even if it might hurt me again. I’m willing to take the risk now. I’m sorry to hold myself back again and again, hurting you as I selfishly protect myself. I’ve thought through it and I’ve realised that what you’ve said on that day was true… I know I’ve been such a jerk for hurting you and saying all those stuffs that I don’t mean.
But I couldn’t help myself because I’m afraid that you might end up like her too… Leaving me and creating that big empty space that was going to stay there for a very long time. Moreover, I wasn't ready to actually risk our friendship that is so precious to me. I’m afraid that if all these end badly… I might even lose you as my only best friend who knows me so well and doesn’t leave me even when the whole world turns their backs towards me.
But I didn’t know that by doing this… I’m indirectly hurting you too. By doing this, I’m treating you the way she have treated me before. I’m really sorry for causing all those tears, I’m really sorry for being the main reason for your pain…
I know this might come too late but I’m not going to force you to stay if you really want to leave, but I’ll follow you wherever you’ll be going.’
He paused as he got something out of his coat’s pocket. The air tickets to New York City. ‘I even bought the same flight as you. Hyun, I don’t ask for anything else as long as I’ve got you.’ He smiled softly.
‘Yoboseyo? Hyung, can you help me check if it’s possible for me to check what time and which flight Hyun is taking and help me book the same exact flight as her?’ I asked Teuk hyung. ‘Goodness, Hyuk! It’s already 3am in the morning, I need my sleep! God damn it!’ Leeteuk answered groggily, apparently angry that he was woken up from his sleep.
‘Hyung, please help me… I really screwed up this time and I really need your help. You’re the only one who I could think of that could help me.’ Hyukjae pleaded sincerely and Leeteuk sighed as he heard his desperate voice. ‘Alright. I’ll call you back in a few minutes later…’ He said before hanging up.
After a few minutes, Leeteuk did call back, which Hyukjae picked up immediately after three rings. ‘And yes, everything is done, come over to my apartment to get it later.’ Leeteuk groaned and just hung up after saying whatever he needs to say.
‘Thanks hyung…’ Hyukjae muttered to himself even though Leeteuk has already hung up. Looking at nowhere in specific, he has a look of determination and breathed out, ‘This time, I’ll not screw up.’
Hyukjae continued, ‘Hyun, will you continue to be my girlfriend, not trial one, but the real one?’ He asked her the crucial question.
He could hear his heart thumped as he waited for her reply. Hyun blinked a few times before having tears of happiness falling down of her cheeks. She then hugged him tightly and buried her face in his chest as she sobbed happily. Words aren’t needed to know that Hyun has already accepted Hyukjae and agreed to be his girlfriend.
‘I love you, Lee Hyukjae. Please don’t leave me anymore.’ Both of them were in each other embraces, feeling the happiness as the blissful started engulfing them. They’re finally together.
‘Never will I let you go anymore.’ Hyukjae whispered into Hyun’s ears.
This was supposed to be the last chapter... But I thought if I ended it here, it'll be so meh, so I decided to write a few more chapters so, it's gonna end pretty soon! I know I've said this before >< But yeah... this time it's the real 'gonna end soon'.
