Chapter 18
After awhile, they both pulled away, Hyukjae furrowed his eyebrows, both hands still on Hyun’s face, caressing her blushing cheeks with his thumbs. ‘If I ask you to stay, would you?’ Hyukjae asked but Hyun could feel the hesitant in his voice and sighed. ‘Hyukjae, why would you want me to stay? And what’s the meaning of this kiss?’ She asked with knotted eyebrows.
Tears were threatening to flow out of her eyes because she was afraid to hear what she didn’t want to. Hyukjae kept quiet, holding himself back again. Hyun sighed and chuckled sadly, ‘Hyukjae, I’ll stay… Only if you would say the three words. Three words and I’m yours.’ Hyukjae looked at her, opening his mouth and closing it again.
For a moment, Hyun really thought that he was really going to say the three words to make her stay. He did say the three words, but a different one that disappoints Hyun.
‘I am sorry.’ He said before walking away, looking down. Before Hyukjae could get back into the house, Hyun shouted loud enough for him to hear. ‘Couldn’t you just take this risk? Just because of her, are you going to stay single forever?!’ She said, feeling annoyed by how Hyukjae gives all up just because he got hurt once. Hyukjae was silent and he didn’t even turn around to look at Hyun.
He didn’t move.
‘You said you don’t want to be hurt anymore. But by doing this, do you know you’re hurting me? In order to protect yourself from getting hurt, you unconsciously chose to hurt me. Is this fair? Isn’t love all about taking risks?’ Hyun paused as the tears that were threatening to fall moments ago, flowed out.
‘Stop deceiving yourself and let your heart make the decision for once. Lee Hyukjae, you know that you’ve fell for me. You said it before; you wouldn’t kiss me, not unless you really fell for me.’ Hyun breathed in a deep breath and wiped her tears, calming herself down as she continued in a much stable voice, ‘If you don’t have the heart or intention on really making me stay, please do not find me anymore and just allow me to leave peacefully. I would really appreciate it if you do that. Thank you, Eunhyuk-ssi.’
She then walked towards Hyukjae and lightly bumped her shoulder into his and headed into the house. Hyukjae could only look at the ground. This is it, he thought. Hyun would never call him Eunhyuk, the nickname that the girls he knew gave him. She thought that calling him Eunhyuk would make her feel like she isn’t one of his closest friends and she also dislikes it.
‘You’re Lee Hyukjae when you’re with me. But you’re Lee Eunhyuk when you’re with those girls, araso? Never show them Lee Hyukjae because Lee Hyukjae belongs to only one person and that’s me!’He remembered her saying it childishly.
But this time, he really did it. She really wants to cut away all relationship she has with him. He ruffled his hair harshly before letting out a frustrated sigh. He couldn’t go back in; he couldn’t face Hyun again, so he decided to head back home quietly.
After Hyun stepped back into the house, she put on her mask and pretence once again. She didn’t want to ruin the party and she was thankful for the masquerade theme so as the mask could cover up her swollen crying eyes and make it less obvious.
Of course, Donghae saw through her and knew that she wasn’t feeling good again. He tried to ask her but decided to stop pushing her when she let out a frustrated sigh and assure him that she’s fine. Donghae knew something must’ve happened in the backyard but decided to keep quiet about it.
Readers must really be frustrated with me for breaking these two up again huh..... Kekeke~ ><;; Of course I'm not letting them two get together so easily! :P Otherwise, this story plot would really . D: Kekekeke~~~ Enjoy and meanwhile.... wait for my update!!! ^^
