Waking up, the first thing Yixing could hear was beeping, a constant beeping that never faltered nor stopped. Then he could feel something gently raking its way through his hair, a gentle humming heard next to him. When Yixing had fully and properlly regained consciousness, he was no longer in the warehouse, Guo Ling was no longer pressing a knife up to his neck and turning his head to the side, found Yifan sat in a seat next to his bed smiling softly. 

"Hey" he all but whispered when he saw Yixing staring at him 
"Wh-what happened?" Yixing asked, shifting and wincing at the pain that shot through his body. 

"The police turned up to provide some help" Yifan replied "And Luhan wanted to... but he couldn't exactly fight his way through the two policemen preventing him from doing so" he added 
"He's so weak" Yixing muttered, managing to crack a smile as Yifan let out a laugh before the two of them fell into silence. 

It was there that Yixing took in Yifan's appearnace; a bruise or two on his face... well that was where Guo Ling had probably hit him, and dried blood trailing down his chin. Slowly reaching out, Yixing his fingers across Yifan's face, the latter leaning into Yixing's touch before taking his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. 

"This is the first time I've been able to speak to you since you were brought here" 
"What happened to Guo Ling?" Yixing asked as Yifan let out a shaky sigh. 

"He doesn't matter now. What matters is that you're in a safe place where nothing else will happen to you from now on, okay?" he replied, watching Yixing nod his head as his eyelids began to droop.

"Sleep if you're tired" Yifan muttered
"No I'm fine I just-" but Yixing's words were interrupted by a yawn, generating laughter from Yifan who gently ruffled his hair. 

"Sleep! You look like a zombie, so get some rest"
"And you'll be here when I wake up?" Yixing asked and he was sure he could see Yifan hesitate, though he didn't question it. 

"Of course I will, now sleep; you need to rest"

Yifan stayed with Yixing until he was sure the latter was asleep. Quietly standing up, Yifan moved some strands of hair away from Yixing's eyes before leaning down and gently planting a kiss on his forehead. Forcing himself away from Yixing, he made his way out of the room where a police officer was waiting for him, ready to accompany him back to the station.

Watching Yixing awake from his slumber, Luhan was more than happy to help him sit up and get comfortable in his bed. Whatever Yixing wanted, Luhan would get it for him, thinking of himself as Yixing's personal assistant- he refused to be called a waiter or slave at Yixing's suggestion- until Yixing was well enough to come home. 

With Yixing awake, Luhan was able to tel lhim everything; how he went to the police station and begged the officers to listen to him, the manhunt that ensued afterwards and how by the time they got to the warehouse Luhan was pretty sure that Yixing was going to die upon hearing of the situation he found himself in. 

"And I would have gotten in there and give Guo Ling a piece of my mind if those officers hadn't stopped me" he concluded 
"Weakling. Even I could have probably fought my way through them" Yixing commented, laughing at Luhan's expression 
"Hey! In my defense they were big, mean and scary!" trying to save himself from any further embarrassment. 

Whatever made Luhan happy... 

It was admist their conversations that Yixing suddenly remembered there was someone missing. Yifan had promised him that he would be there when Yixing woke up yet as Yixing looked around the room, he could not find the guy anywhere. 

"Hey Lu... where's Yifan?" he asked, feeling Luhan shift uncomfortably next to him 

When Luhan didn't answer him, Yixing knew something was up. Something had to be up, otherwise Luhan would have given him a definitive answer and wouldn't be avoiding the question by moving onto another topic. 

"Luhan, where's Yifan?" he asked again as Luhan bit his lip before sighing, deciding that Yixing had to know what was going on 

"When we were trying to find you... Yifan knew that the only way people were going to listen was if I went down to the station and told them about how he made you hide him in your house, held the gun up to him and all of that" he began, studying Yixing's facial expression before he carried on. 

"It took a lot of begging and convincing to let him stay here with you until you woke up... Guo Ling, h-he's turning everything around. He's saying that Yifan was the one who took you to the warehouse to draw him out and try to convince him to confess that he did the murders and not Yifan. He's saying that he held the knife up to your nec to stall Yifan because he needed you alive. Whilst some people and news agencies believe Yifan's side of the story others still think he's the bad guy" 

"W-where are you going with this?" Yixing asked as Luhan let out a shaky breath 
"Yifan's been re-arrested. Both he and Guo Ling are going on trial and if people believe Yifan is still the guilty party... well then he faces much worse consequences than what he faced last time. It's not looking good for him Xing" 

Yixing wanted to know the truth and Luhan gave it to him. He wasn't going to sugar coat the situation or anything like that because that would have served injustice to Yixing after everything he went through... it was just going to take some time for the news to sink in for Yixing that's all. 

"I-I... I cant lose him" he whispered as Luhan gently patted him on the back, knowing that no matter what he said it wouldn't be that much of a comfort for him

"Zhang Yixing" came a voice as the two looked up and saw two men, higher up in the police force by the looks of it, step into his room and shut the door behind them 

"We've been sent here from the station to come talk to you, ask you some questions" as Yixing shifted in his bed and they could sense his uneasiness 
"Don't worry, this wont take long. We're just here to question you about Wu Yifan and what had happened between him and Guo Ling in the warehouse"... 

You guys didn't really think that it would all be happily ever after did you? Oho my dears, that would have been too easy for them! 

And heads up, I feel this fic is going to end in about... three or four chapters time, so be prepared!!
