Return

Can you keep a secret?

When first leaving Yixing's place, he actually had no idea on where he was going to go. He knew that there were people who now lived in the city, owing him for past deeds, he just didn't know exactly where they lived... what a brilliant start he had made!

By that evening, Yifan was beginning to worry that he was going to become homeless, run the risk of the police catching him so freaking easily after he went all of this time without so much as being seen or recognised by anyone.

How ironic that would be...

"Yi-Yifan? Yifan is that you?"

For one horrible moment, Yifan could not recognise the voice of the person it belonged to and thought for one more moment that he had fnally been caught out, slowly turning to finally face the person.

"Tao!" he exclaimed back, all too happily,
"Thank God I bumped into you!"

Having owed Yifan for a number of situations he had managed to get him out of after a summer in Guangzhou, Tao was willing to throw away the fact that the guy may have killed two people and agreed to hide him in his house for at least a day or two. He wasn't really phased by it, unlike Yixing, and was asking Yifan all sorts of questions; how he escaped, what jail was like, where Yifan had hidden beforehand. He looked just as excited to hear about Yifan's experiences as said guy had been explaining his master plan to Yixing previously!

"Hey Yifan" Tao called out, waiting for Yifan to enter the living room
"What did you say that guy's name was? The guy who hid you in his apartment" watching Yifan frown but nonetheless answer his question.

"Yixing... why?" as Tao pointed to the television and turned up the volume

Police in central Beijing are currently conducting an early search of missing person Zhang Yixing. A native of Hunan, Zhang was reported missing after neighbours found his apartment ransacked and discovered that the twenty three year old had not been seen since leaving for work earlier in the morning. Police are urging pe-

That was all Yifan had to hear before he had decided he was going back to search for Yixing himself. There was no way the police were ever going to find him! After all, they had no idea where to begin to look, or who their main suspect was for that matter.

That same day he was back to a city that had become so familiar to him over the past few years. First arriving, he wanted to see if the reports were true, he wanted to see for himself. Seeing the police cars parked outside the complex and the media circulating around the place, that was enough to prove to Yifan that the reports about Yixing's disappearance were true.

Now where did he go from there? There wasn't exactly anywhere else he could go besides... ah...

Very quickly he found himself running over to the bakery Yixing worked at. It would be around closing time and Yifan was right in believing that Luhan would be there closing up by himself... now it was just a matter of getting his attention so he would come out and speak to him.

~

"Are you going to open the door or leave me out here like this?"

Finally snapping out of his trance, Luhan quickly ran over to unlock the door of the bakery, pulling Yifan in before he slammed it shut and began pushing Yifan towards the back.

"What are you doing?"
"Just wait back there until I'm finished. We can't risk anybody seeing you" Luhan replied, rolling his eyes at how Yifan hadn't changed since the last time they saw each other and shoved him in the back of the shop so he could finish up with closing.

When Luhan eventually returned, Yifan was close to falling asleep. It was Luhan's prescence that roused him from his slumber

"What are you doing here?" was one of the first things Luhan asked him, taking a seat across from him
"Isn't it obvious" Yifan replied, stretching himself and groaning when a bone or two clicked.

"What makes you think you can help track down Yixing? Not even the highest of police here have any lead on where he could possibly be" as Yifan sighed and shook his head. Luhan was always quickly to jump to conclusions.

"I know who took him" he replied, watching as Luhan's eyes widened
"W-what?"
"I know who took him... and I possibly know where they would have taken Yixing" Yifan repeated and could see how Luhan was silently willing for him to carry on with his explanation.

"There's not enough time to explain to you how I know... we could be putting Yixing in more danger if we delay it for any longer. Just trust me on this" as he fished into his trouser pocket and pulled out a slip of paper and handed it to Luhan.

"I need you to go to the police station and tell the police you possibly know where Yixing is and give them the slip of paper" as Luhan had a look at what was written on it. Scribbled on the paper was three different locations; a hotel, some shop located about ten minutes down the road and an abandoned warehouse located on the outskirts of the city.

"The hotel is where the guy who kidnapped Yixing stayed upon first arriving here. The shop is no longer in use, I came across it upon escaping from the jail. The warehouse is, from my research, currently using to expand his business from Guangdong up here to Beijing. The first two are just diversions whilst I go to the third. It saves me time" Yifan explained, frowning when Luhan shook his head and attempted to give the slip of paper back.

"The police wont want to listen to me" he said
"Well then tell them about me. Tell them how I broke into the bakery, forced Yixing to hide me in his house, make them believe I kidnapped him to force transport back to my hometown for his safe return... they'll come running" Yifan replied as the two of them stood up and headed out of the door.

"Y-Yifan... about Yixing he... well..." Luhan began but couldn't finish it
"He what?" Yifan asked as Luhan shook his head and shot a shaky smile.

"You'll find out for yourself soon enough... just please, don't hurt him" and with that shot down the road towards the police station whilst Yifan stood in the spot and took a shaky breath, giving him time to compose himself before he shot off in the oposite direction and towards the warehouse, hoping that Yixing was still there and was still alive...

Of course it was Yifan! Who else was it going to be?

And I managed to throw in a Tao cameo! That makes all four of the China line appearing in the fic! Mission complete!

Ahh I'm quite excited for the next few chapters, especially becaue you guys will think I'm going to make things better oh so quickly... oh I'm so evil!

Until the next chapter!!
