Beware of wolves

It’s been over two months now that ChanYeol and Daeya had begun dating and everything was going smoothly.

Well… Almost everything was going smoothly. Daeya didn’t know how to say this to her boyfriend but she didn’t feel that everything was right. She was scared by what she was experimenting. Since the beginning, the feeling of hate she had felt for ChanYeol had never really left her and she didn’t understand what was going on: she loved the boy but at the same time a force pushed a part of her to hate him.

Was she schizophrenic? For months now she had been hiding this truth deep inside. Thankfully, she never lost control in his presence or else she would probably have slapped him without any reason or even do worse. It was a bit as if there were two people inside of her. A voice kept telling her that this boy liked her and that she liked him too but at the same time there was this other voice, a voice that was telling her to go away from this guy. She was much better than him and she deserved someone who was “a real man”.

Daeya had never understood that sentence that kept playing in her head each time she met ChanYeol’s eyes. She had never been able to be truly and fully happy because this voice in her head was spoiling the moment. She had never been able to be truly and fully happy because this voice was taking over her body to repel ChanYeol’s one. Each time that it had happened, she had just lied, arguing that she wasn’t ready to do skin ship or PDA all the time and it seemed that ChanYeol had always believed her.

How could she hate the most wonderful man she had ever met? She couldn’t help but ask herself as she saw him coming from afar to the place they had decided to meet.

ChanYeol breathed heavily. SuHo had tried to talk to him once again and he was now in a state of high anger. He tried to control his breath but the wolf woke up as he realized Daeya was already at the meeting place.

Usually he was quite good at hiding the wolf when Daeya and he met. The proof was that the girl had no idea about his real nature. Though, the wolf was half part of him and he couldn’t deny that a part of him only dreamt of bite and hurt the girl as much as he could.

He clenched his fist as he felt his eyes changing color. It wasn’t the time to grow fur. Not when he had a date planned with the love of his life. He scolded himself and hid in a street. He knew that the girl had recognized him since she had waved at him but he didn’t want to go there yet.

He just couldn’t.

He had to calm himself first and try to shut the wolf in a mind cell. It wasn’t easy. Not at all and he was becoming more and more exhausted each time they met. Lately, his wolf side had been tougher and tougher and he had understood some of the things that SuHo had told him. But Daeya was his love and he couldn’t let her go away. He liked, no, he loved her too much for that.

Love and hate are just two sides of the same feeling, his wolf-self kept repeating him. And we do kill what threaten us. Wolves are the strongest because they don’t let the enemy be strong and kill it before anything happen; you are already in danger, just attack already.

I won’t. I’m not a beast, said it’s human side.

You are, at least I am, answered his wolf-side.

The young man held his head in his hands as he collapsed on a bench nearby, trying to calm down.

“Channie?”

“Go away Daeya…”

“Is there something wrong?”

“I said GO AWAY” he shouted as the girl as he looked at her with both anger and pain in his stare. One of his eyes was red and the other one had his original brown color.

Daeya jumped in surprise as she realized the boy wasn’t totally the one she knew.

“Channie I know I can help you just tell me what this is about…”

“No you can’t. You need to go away. I don’t want to hurt you.” The young man was losing control and could feel his claw grow instead of his usual nails. He had still just enough control not to grow fur and fully transform into a beast that would kill her. He grunted.

A grunt that looked like a wolf growl.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Lay and Chen appeared next to the couple. The girl couldn’t help but realize they both had golden eyes. As the first one run to be near his brother, Chen tried to pull the girl away from the street.

“Stop it Chen. I won’t follow you. I want to know what’s happening. Right now.”

“I’ll tell you as soon as we would have left this street.”

“I won’t leave until ChanYeol and Lay come with us.”

“I think there is going to be a problem then. Because they are not coming with us.”

“Then I’m not leaving. I’ll sta with my boyfriend until I know he is fine.”

Lay butted in the conversation: “believe me Daeya, he will if you go away.”

“Are you saying that I’m his problem?” Daeya couldn’t believe it. The two guys here were her friends. They were two of the people that had been supportive of ChanYeol and her since the beginning of the relationship and now they were telling her she was a nuisance to her boyfriend…

“So you’ve been on SuHo’s side all this time… You were just waiting for the right time to tell me I’m noxious to Channie, right?”

“It’s not what we are saying please believe us…”

But as Lay was trying to argue for Daeya to leave he wasn’t paying as much attention in calming his friend and ChanYeol’s wolf side took over as he pushed forcefully his friend, making him crash against the wall. An unscrupulous smirk made its way to its lips as the beast looked at his prey. It didn’t really matter that Chen was here, he was fully and entirely focused on the girl and jumped on her. The smile grew even more as he felt his claws scratch out the girl’s body.

So... Here is today/this week chapter. 

I have quite a bad news. No it's not how it ends (I promise) but I probably won't be able to update next week since my brother is getting engaged not in my hometown so I'll be out of town and won't probably have neither time nor internet access... :/

(Gosh It really feel great to be able to write: I haven't been able to talk for four days because of a cold and it's not the greatest thing when you're a teacher especially when your students are too young to be able to read by themselves! XD)

anyway, I'll try to update during the week or the week after the engagement but I can't promise anything, sonce I'm having a really heavy year in term of schedule...

Also (sorry for making this "author words" so long but...) I realised that two more people have upvoted this story. I know that It may sound ridiculous when you see the number of upvotes that some people's stories got but it's really heartwarming and amazing to me to see such things. I don't know for how long there had been there but I really feel blessed: thank you!
