I dragged Kris to my mothers house, he complained the entire way about not wanting to see his step father, but it needed to be done because we couldn't start a new life together with hatred.

I knocked on the door softly, she opened the door and practically screamed in excitement. "Mei!.. I'm so glad you're here! come in.."

She pulled me in, Kris followed us slowly.

She sat me down on the sofa, Kris next to me. "I'm so glad you came to see me!... oh.. Kris, sorry I didn't see you!"

I cough awkwardly. "Mom, I have something to tell you"

"What is it?" She looks at me worried.

I hold my hand out to show her my engagement ring. "I'm getting married."

I forced her to sit back down again. "Mom"

I look at Kris beside me, and grab his hand firmly, I turn to look back at her. "Me and Kris are going to get married"

Kris runs a thumb over the back of my hand. "I'm sorry we sprung this on you, but I love your daughter, and we planned to get married soon"
