Seohyun’s POV

I almost blurted out a cuss right after I found myself in luhan’s arms. We were both cosy sitting at the veranda. I tilted my head upwards seeing his face… which I found unlawfully cute… With his eyes closed and his lips slightly parted… I smiled as I tugged closer to him. I listened to the jagged rhythms of his heartbeat that made me smile for a moment… The setting was perfect… the stagnant water from the roof was now falling slowly to the ground as the crickets made their sound…

I can’t help but sigh, it felt so perfect… remembering the conversation we had earlier… we were done… or should I say, our days of pretension was over, but why is he doing this still? Why’d he put me in this situation wherein I can’t and I might not be able to let go of him… albeit the fact that this was just a set up… I’ll be forever thankful, for whoever made this happen…

“I felt like I was about to lose myself when I saw what you did with yoona out there…” not knowing that I am talking to the unconscious luhan… absurd, but its better this way… I guess.

“that same lips who claimed my first kiss was also the one I saw kissing hers…” I starred at his lips for a moment… and smiled… I’m fully aware of the cameras around me, but little did I care. My free hand crawled up to his face and placed my lips on his

My heart fluttered as I kissed him… it was no joke; I can feel my lips numb… but he kissed me back… he kissed me back; I felt his hand moved to support my back. Our kissed was sweet and shallow; there were also soft giggles in between of our kisses… I felt like I was in some of the fairy tales I used to fantasize about when I was younger… but now I felt that this thing happening between us is REAL…

For me… there was no yoona to intrigue us, no dad to convince me to join show business, no luhan’s mom to tell me “things” no others who complained about us no best friend to think off… tonight it’s just me and him in the beats of our hearts…

He stopped and looked at me, his eyes… they were as if telling me that I am the only one… that I’ll be the only one.

“did you think that you can sneak up on me?” he said with a wide smile, I cant help but smile… what  did was foolish, but at least— damn… this migraines, they come more often… my face went sour as I bit my lip. I went up from the sit and walked around to freshen up a bit.

I heard him stand and walked towards me, he hugged me from behind and rested his face in my shoulder. I swallowed a cold lump as I tried to get his hands off me. I’m having the worst migraine I ever had in my whole existence to the extent that I can barely breathe… oh god… why now?

“hey I was just joking…” his voice was soothing and calm but no words can ever help me right now… it’s like I’m having an asthma attack while my head spins like hell…

“I … ca… bre—athe… call, ka—I” he seemed puzzled, so instead he hugged me tighter and placed a kiss on my left cheek

“s-stop, c…call, ka—I, kai…. C-call him” I may not be able to see it, but my lips were turning violet as my breaths shortened… damn this life… damned this condition… damned this freakin tumour….

“what? Are you playing pranks on me seohyun? Well then, ill let you know that I’m not upset of what you did, in fact… I… I was happy that you did” I reached for my pocket and took my phone out, kai was on my speed dial… I wasn’t able to tell him what I wanted when he picked it up but he said he would be coming for me

“hey seohyun… stop it I said, it’s not funny” luhan said and for that I collapsed…

“seohyun! Seohyun, held on tightly… almost there… j-just hold on tightly” I was holding firmly at the edge of the cliff, I was wearing a harness… so is Luhan? I can see him at a lower depth. I looked up and saw that Kai was trying to pull me up

 

But when I looked down, luhan was helpless… if I were to be pulled up, he’ll be left behind… kai won’t be able to help us both…

 

The wind blew making the harness that luhan and I was sharing move…

 

“Just take my hand… seohyun please, I can’t lose you” I grasped for air and…

“you made me worry so much!” Kai hugged me tightly with his tears streaming down his face. I smiled and hugged him back… not noticing that luhan was actually at the same room with us.

“hey hey… take it easy ahahaha, sorry… cause I made you worry… but I’m alright now” luhan cleared his throat and made his way out of the room. Uhm… awkward?

“you’re going home with me, I already called your dad and my mom” he slowly let go of me… that was an ease, he’s almost choking me, he hugged me as if we weren’t able to meet for ages. We just sat at the room and talked for several things, I was happy that he didn’t brought up any topic about our relationship, instead we talked about… well their upcoming game… he was quite happy that he’ll be taking the major role in their team…

He was grinning while taking glimpses at the door. Okay… that’s weird of him. Until then , we heard cars outside the house, we both rushed down to the doors, it was quite… I don’t know… I found it odd, luhan was speaking to my dad, they were both so serious. They didn’t even felt our presence…

“dad.” I managed to say. Dad looked at me and smiled a half, he tucked me in his side and escorted me to the car. I looked back at luhan and smiled, he did the same though there’s something in his smile that made him look perky somehow. Kai was with her mom. We both managed to get home before dawn. Dad didn’t asked much about what had happened, I guess kai already explained things to him.

Kai… he’s been a life saver ever since the day we met…

*FLASHBACK*

 

It was a farewell party for mom’s friend, I was there… along with kai and another kid around our age. I can’t consider it as party… though that’s what I knew, because it was so different from the parties I knew… or maybe it’s just because, majority of the guests were older than us.

 

 

Mom introduced me to a boy… he had this genuine smile, which I think he’ll be using years from now to lure girls and break their hearts, well he’s been friendly… but we’re not friends… so what’s the use?

 

 

“now now joohyun, don’t be like that…” mom said, she took the boys hand and made mines shake it… I saw his expression changed. His smile changed into a grin. Tss…

 

 

“mom aren’t we going home yet? I want to play…” I said while taking my hand back. My eyes were fixated on him, and so was he… I really don’t like him…

 

 

“no dear, mommy we’ll be having some more talks with your future mom” in that moment, I felt like my heart was about to shatter… why does my mom want me to give me to someone else? I hugged her and buried by face in her dress. I heard echoes of laughter forming inside the hall that made me burst into tears

 

 

Mom went into her knees and held my face. She wiped my tears away and smile.

 

 

“I know what you’re thinking… but no, mommy will not give you to anyone… but one day you’ll understand… and this cute little boy here will be with you… but for the meantime, he’ll need to go somewhere else… okay?” she patted my head… I really don’t know what mom was talking about… but at least I’m not to be given away

 

“I love you mommy!”

 

 

“go along now… play with him” I just went off the room. And I heard footsteps behind me… if it isn’t him again… he’s just so annoying…

 

 

“hey joohyun… wait up!” I walked faster, and pretended that I never heard him.

 

 

“My Joohyun!” and with that I slowly turned… did he just… what?

 

 

“yours? Am I yours? Pfft? Are you serious? Hahahahaha” I was rolling in tears as I laughed at him.

 

 

“one day… mother said that one day… I’ll be marrying you” I was still laughing to the extent that I tripped over a vase… there was a sudden reign of terror inside me, the boy and I exchanged glances… until the door from the hall was wide open, mom saw us with her friends…

 

 

“m-mom…” we both stuttered as they looked at us and the broken vase. We were about to cry as they ran to us…

 

 

“joohyun… are you responsible for this?” I can see that there was something in mom’s eyes, my legs were shaking so hard….

 

 

“mom… I… I was—“ I wasn’t finished speaking when the other boy came from behind us, he had one serious face.

 

 

“we were playing when I suddenly tripped, I ran to the other hall because I thought the game was not over yet” mom and the others were pretty much convinced. All of us went back in the hall. I was sitting beside mom and the boy who covered up for me. I haven’t thanked him yet so now’s the right time.

 

 

“thank you… for what you did there” I planted a smile on my face, he smiled back though he was very timid. Guess he was raised to be as perfect as he can be.

 

 

“anytime… joohyun”

 

 

“so what’s your name?” I asked playfully.

 

 

“Jongin… it’s Kim Jongin”

It’s pretty weird… remembering how I was back then… I cant help but smile.. but then again… who was he, the other guy?

I went to school the next day… dad was with me, but he didn’t went with me class after class, I asked him what’s his whereabouts inside the campus, he just told me that he’ll be having a small chat with some old friend of mine.

I was with the SNSD the whole day, thought… the EXO, including Kai was not speaking with me, or rather should I say that they were ignoring me the whole time.

“what? Come again? Did you just told me that mr. seo… as in the super popular mr. seo is here again?!” I heard one of the girls shrieking. Seriously… my dad’s old enough to have an 18 year old daughter and yet… they still had the nerve to fangirl over him? -_-

“what is he doing here then?” one of the girls asked.

“I’ve heard that he was speaking with an EXO member to stay away from Joohyun of the SNSD” w-what? Of course that’s not true… dad wont do that.

“no! you’re telling it wrong, I heard their conversation, and mr. seo told the whole EXO team to stay away from Seohyun.” Well… that could be… uh…

“oh… but why? Luhan’s her boyfriend, plus Kai’s her best friend… and both of them are EXO members… it’s not possible… wait are you even sure that that was Mr seo?” the other said. Well she had the point. I ran over them looking for anyone… I mean any of the exo members

But they were nowhere to be found, or they were hiding really well… they’re avoiding me… which I cannot fathom why… seriously someone give me a damn reason. I just cant stand or sit without knowing what’s the real score behind all of this.

I was catching for my breath when I reached the music room… thank heavens! I found one of them!!

“what the heck… you guys… what’s your problem?” I asked him as I walked inside the room, I closed the door behind me and sat beside him by the piano seat.

“uhm… its nothing really… why?” he said as he pressed some keys… then suddenly everything went nostalgic. I think I’ve heard this song somewhere… I just can’t recall where or when… I just know… that I’ve heard this before.

“I don’t know…. i’ve been hearing things… you’re avoiding me… as well as the others.”

“really? Well… I don’t know with them… but me, I was all day here… I was uh, practicing for something… so… do you want to hear it?” I nodded gleefully and smiled at him. He started playing… it was a foreign song… I haven’t heard it yet.

The song ended… I was in awestruck, it was so… beautiful… it’s beyond words… I mean, beautiful was surely an understatement of the lovely piece. He placed his hand under my chin and maneuvered it up, closing my mouth. I blushed for a bit… gosh… that was so embarrassing…

“who composed it? I haven’t heard it yet…” I said with full honesty.

“Me… it’s actually for the girl I like…” I smiled at him… I wonder who the girl is… she must be really something for him to compose her wonderful piece.

“It’s really… beautiful” I managed to say

“So you like it?”

I really worked hard on this chapter...
