Second Chance at Love-29-
"Hyerinnie!" Dongwoo said cheerfully, but his smile soon turned into a frown when he saw the bandages around wrist, "Your hurt! What happened?" Dongwoo spoke in a panicked voice. He grabbed onto Hyerin's arm, pulling her close. Dongwoo started to study her arm closely, but could not figure out what happened to the poor girl. Why was she always getting hurt when he was not around?
"I burned myself while cooking. Woohyun ah took care of it for me." Hyerin said as she looked into Dongwoo's warm brown eyes. "You have nothing to worry about, I will heal in no time." Hyerin gave Dongwoo a fake smile and wondered what he was going to ask her before he got overly concerned about her. Every little thing distracted Dongwoo, and she wondered how he was becoming a psychologist if he gets distracted so easily? "You wanted to ask me something Dongwoo ah?"
"Right..." Dongwoo smile as he bit his lip. So she was with Woohyun for Volunteer Day. Dongwoo was happy that Woohyun took care of Hyerin's injury, but that does not change the fact that he does not like him, "Hyerin, would you be my dance partner for the Charity-Dance-A-Thon?"
Hyerin looked at Dongwoo and smiled. She knew he was going to enter the Charity-Dance-A-Thon. When every Dongwoo had the chance to dance, he would jump on the opportunity. He was really good at all types of dance, but this particular event was ballroom. "Sure, I would love to be your dance partner." Hyerin always had fun dancing with Dongwoo. She could imagine gliding across the dance floor with him at this very moment. Hyerin kept thinking about Belle in Beauty and the Beast, but Dongwoo was no beast. He was more like the comic relief character in a Disney movie. "Dongwoo ahhh..." Hyerin bit his lip as she looked at her best friend. She did not know how to explain her dispute with Woohyun to Dongwoo.
"You seem troubled?" Dongwoo asked, "Did something happen between you and Woohyun today?" He crossed his arms and wondered what that man did this time? If he hurt Hyerin in anyway, Dongwoo would not allow Woohyun to get away with it. The man deserved to be punched after what he did to Sunggyu. "You know you can tell me anything."
"I think I hurt him." Hyerin said as she looked at Dongwoo. Heyrin knew she hurt Woohyun, but she could not admit that to Dongwoo. Heyrin could not tell Dongwoo about Woohyun knowing about Sunggyu protecting her from those horrible men who tried to hurt her. She would have to tell Dongwoo the truth about Sunggyu's other persona. Hyerin was beginning to wonder if Woohyun knew about 'Rocker Gyu.' She looked into Dongwoo's eyes once more and knew that she could not show her concern for Woohyun. Hyerin knew that Woohyun made Dongwoo feel uncomfortable.
"You would not hurt a fly." Dongwoo said as he looked at his best friend. Hearing her talk like this worried Dongwoo. The last time she talked like this was a few weeks ago, when Hyerin almost ran into on-coming traffic.
"How could you be too sure? Aren't I always hurting you in some way? You cannot live your life how you want to because of me. You are always..." Hyerin paused when Dongwoo placed two hands Hyerin's cheeks, making the girl look at him.
"We talked about this..." Dongwoo sighed, "You are not and will never be a burden to me. If you ever hurt me I will just let it go." Dongwoo pulled Hyerin into a hug. "I really hate it when you talk like this."
"But what if I do something that is unforgiveable, something that would ruin our friendship?" Hyerin asked.
"You will never ruin our friendship." Dongwoo raised an eyebrow as he continued to hug her., "Song Hyerin, how long have we been friends?"
"Since we were one..." Hyerin bit her lip. She knew where this was going, and she now felt guilty for even opening .
"See...we are going to be friends no matter what. Nothing can break our friendship apart." Dongwoo sighed as he her hair.
Something did ruin our friendship...
A guy got in the way.
I got hurt. You tried to fix it, and in the end...
I broke you.
"I'm sorry..." Hyerin said as she suddenly hugged Dongwoo back. She loved that he was always so warm and caring. There are not many people like that anymore. Dongwoo was special, he was always special, but it took her so long to see that.
"There is no need for you to be sorry, Hyerin." Dongwoo sighed as he continued to hold his best friend in his arms. He did not want to release Hyerin from his embrace when she was upset like this. Dongwoo released her and reached down to her uninjured hand, "I know what you need." Dongwoo smiled.
"Cake!" Hyerin said as she looked up at Dongwoo.
"BINGOOOO!" Dongwoo said cheerfully as he started to drag Hyerin along. He knew that she needed ahjumma's famous cakes to cheer her up.
