-Prologue-

"Hyerin sangjangnim!"

Hyerin looked up and noticed her assistant looking at her, "What is it Soojung ah? I have a lot of work to do!"

"It's Christmas Eve shouldn't you be spending it with your love ones?"  Soojung asked and she knew the moment she asked the question she was going to get yelled at, but Hyerin did not yell.

"I do not have any loved ones. I gave up on love when I was twenty." Hyerin said, "But that is the past and that is not important."

"Hyerin Sangjangnim you are still young. I am sure you can find love." Soojung said with a sweet smile.

I remember when I was like that. Young and naive, thinking love will bring me happiness. Love does not bring any happiness. It only brings heartache

"I am going to be thirty soon. I think it is too late for me to find love." Hyerin said as she looked at her employee.

"I believe that you can still find love!" Soojung said with a smile.

I would have found love if I did not push them away.

"Life isn't like that Soojung.  I am just not meant to be loved by anyone. Please go home." Hyerin said.

"Ok sangjangnim. I hope you have a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year." Soojung said with a smile.

Hyerin sighed and continued to do her work.  The deadline was tomorrow and it had to be done.  Whoever had a deadline on Christmas really had no heart, but Hyerin could understand why because she felt like she did not have a heart.
