“ will you be alright little sister?” Jiyong ask as he could see seohyun’s worry expression.  

Seohyun could only nodded in response. Sometimes she wished her brothers did not worry about her so much specially since they have more important things to worry about. “ I’m fine, just a little tired” seohyun said with a smile.

“ Don’t get this tournament get to you seohyun. No matter what the outcome is, always remember that I will be there for you.” Jiyong said as he hugged her.

“I know” Seohyun said. “ I’m going to bed right now... I have an early day tomorrow” She said as she kissed his brother in the cheek and went to the living room to bit goodnight to her grandfather, and her father.

Author’s pov:

As seohyun walked slowly by school, she couldn’t help but to think whether it was a good idea for her to stay. Even at this point, she couldn’t help but to worry about his reaction. Will He hate her, as for lying to him about her identity?  Will they become enemies once he finds out that she’s a kwon? Certainly they’re bound to fight, not many people like the kwon family specially the Jung family. They have always been the second best compare to her family, and she has known how much but no matter how scared she is and even though yonghwa is one of the few friends she can truly trust, it will not change who she is. She is Kwon Seohyun, a descendent of the fire nation and as her duty to her people she cannot afford to lose this fight even if it means to lose yonghwa in the process. At the same time she cannot afford to lose yonghwa either and as much as it pained her, she will have to tell him the true.

“ A penny for your thoughts?” yonghwa said as he saw seohyun looking up to the sky in deep thoughts.

Seohyun turn around and face yonghwa.” I was just thinking of my math class...I have an exam coming up and I have to study” she lied.

“ awh seohyun, you are such a party pooper; you seriously need to go out more and have some fun” yonghwa said with a grin. “In fact, there’s a dance coming next week, will you like to go?”

“ what about yoona? Wouldn’t you want her to be your date?” Seohyun asked.

“ There’s a lot more parties I can go with her, and besides is it a crime to want to be with my best friend?” yonghwa smiled. “ Even though you seem to like jonghyun more than me...”

“ I don’t like jonghyun more than you...And besides, since when am I your best friend?” Seohyun teased but at the same time happy that yonghwa could be somehow jealous of jonghyun. She feels like she truly is a special person to yonghwa even though he only declares her as a friend.

“ But you seem to share a lot of secrets with him...You even left him take you home, and even though we have hang together too, you have never invited me to your home or let me drop you there!” He accused. At first yonghwa did not believe when people starting saying that seohyun was seeing with jonghyun but once he confronted jonghyun he did not deny taking seohyun home. Matter fact, jonghyun  even said it wasn’t a big deal since he has been a guest at seohyun’s house and knows her family very well. Yonghwa doesn’t understand why there’s so much mystery in her family or why will she never let him take her home.

Seohyun could only sigh” Guess you have heard the rumors then?”

“ The rumors about you dating jonghyun, yes I have heard but I don’t believe them...I know you won’t date a wind descendant.” Yonghwa said with confidence. “ People are dumb to believe that an earth descendant will date someone that is not with in our world.”

Seohyun stiffened at his words. It is true, that she hated those rumors, in fact it has only brought her trouble since jonghyun’s fan girls have started to harass her but hearing yonghwa talk as if he’s warning her not to date jonghyun just because he’s from a different region, she finds it irritating. “What makes you think I won’t date jonghyun huh? As far as I’m concerned, I’m free to date whoever I want!” She spat back.

Yonghwa could only laughed. “ You are not serious are you?” Yonghwa glared at her. “You are not allowed to date anyone you hear me!” yonghwa took her arm and pulled her close to him. “Even if jonghyun was a earth descendant, I will not allow you to date him!”

Seohyun scoffed. “ You’re not my father yonghwa, I can do whatever I want!” She glared at him and pulls her arm but yonghwa was not letting her go. His eyes were turning in to a golden brown, clearly he was getting mad at seohyun even though she didn’t knew why. Yonghwa has a girlfriend already, and even if they’re friends she doesn’t understand why he’s acting so overprotective of her.

“ Thank God for that because if I was, I will make sure no boys were allowed to be with you!” He growled.

“ Just because we’re friends doesn’t mean I belong to you yonghwa, nor can you dictate my friends or with who I go out with!” she exclaimed. “ Why will you even think you can have any holds on me anyway?”

Yonghwa stiffened at her question. He really doesn’t have any holds on her yet, he feels a pain in his chest just thinking about her being in another man’s arms. “ Because you are part of my people; you’re like a little sister to me and it has not never been heard of mix marriage among the four nations...You will not date, anyone other than your mate!” he said with finality. 

“ What if Jonghyun is my mate huh?” Seohyun snapped back clearly irritated by yonghwa.

“ Don’t be silly, your mate is going to be a wolf descendant!” yonghwa laughed at her comment. There’re no way she will marry someone outside their people. It has never heard before and its obvious, they will not match, a wolf descendant can only marry another wolf descendant.

“ You never know yonghwa...What if your mate was not a wolf descendant?” she asked.

Yonghwa could only glared at her. “ My mate will be a wolf descendant...I will not settle for less seohyun. My family takes our pure blood lineage seriously unlike those filthy fire region who some are mixed with humans.”

Seohyun felt like her heartache; yonghwa must have heard of her shameful roots and he was judging her without even giving her a chance. She tries very hard not to cry, even though his words strike like a needle in her heart. “ You shouldn’t be bad mouthing people if you don’t know them yonghwa...As far as I know the kwon family is very strong and they have never lost a match, even your family has not compared to them yet...” she said without thinking as she wriggle free from his hold.

“ I’m not judging them seohyun...My father is a good friend of the main head of the kwon household but I do find Mr. Kwon marriage very unusual and disgracing. He made a poor judgment to marry a mortal and having a kid with her. Its something it has never heard of...”

“ Just because it’s different doesn’t mean its bad yonghwa.” Seohyun said biting her lips and try not to say anything to give up her cover. She wanted so badly to slapped yonghwa for talking bad about her mom. She had to endure some of her aunts for respect, but certainly yonghwa had no right in talking like that about her mom. It wasn’t her idea to marry jaejoong in the first place. “ This conversation is getting nowhere, I’m going to class.” She said as she turns around.

“ Wait what about the dance?” Yonghwa asked feeling bad for making seohyun mad. She seemed hurt for his harsh words; and he was regretful for saying them. He really could care less whether a wolf descendant and a wind descendant or even a human was married to another blue blood. He wasn’t against at any of it, but if he were to voice down his thoughts, it may encourage seohyun into dating jonghyun and he didn’t want that. He doesn’t know why but he doesn’t want seohyun and jonghyun together.

“I have to help my father that day and I have to study too.” Seohyun said declining his offer into taking her. She should keep a safe distant from yonghwa, especially since he seemed so against marriage among other regions. Seohyun doesn’t want any heartbreaks, it’s enough with her own problems to add one more to it....
