Chapter 19

Dara clutched her hands together in nervousness as she waited outside Jiyong's house door. It's been a week since she found out about being pregnant and for a week she hid it away from everyone. But every time she was with Jiyong, she felt extremely uneasy and was frightened he will find out on his own, therefore leading to Dara saying the news to Jiyong herself. She hoped everything turned out well. She didn't even know how he will react. She knocked on his door twice waiting. She felt like it was the longest minute in her life.

"Dara? What are you doing here?" Jiyong opened the door wide letting his girlfriend enter his home. Dara stopped midway seeing two middle aged people sat in his living room.

"You must be busy. I'll come back later." Dara bowed at the couple before turning around but Jiyong held her back.

"Stupid it's my parents." Her eyes enlarged hearing him. She wasn't ready to face his parents, not yet. She bowed again politely not knowing what to do.

"We're going to head back now but please think over what we told you. We need you right now." His mother touched his cheek as she hugged Jiyong but he didn't respond. Dara watched them leave and throughout that time Jiyong had a stoic expression.

"Anyways babes what's up? You didn't call before coming. Is everything okay?" She gulped as he helped her into the living room but she wanted to stand incase Jiyong exploded she could rush off from fear.

"I need to tell you something." She said quickly but that just got Jiyong worried. He stood up reaching her level. "Please don't freak out." She mumbled next.

"Say it Dara." Jiyong prompted her.

Dara took a big breath before speaking the next words. "Jiyong....I'm pregnant."

“What?” Jiyong stood there not knowing what else to say. “Did I hear right? Did you say you’re pregnant?” He waited for her to respond, a nod from her confirmed everything. He shook his head in disbelief; he didn’t want to believe it. He didn’t want a baby. He never did. How did this happen? He stepped back a bit as the words hit him continuously, which Dara noticed. Her heart was already hurting from seeing his reaction and now that he stepped back totally shattered it. She knew what was coming.

“Dara it’s impossible…I don’t get it.” He rushed his fingers through his hair in frustration. He was still young. He wasn’t prepared. He knew it was his entire fault. How could he forget protection?

“Jiyong…” Tears were already streaming down her face as she witnessed his reaction. This is not what she expected. She wanted Jiyong to be supportive.

“I can’t Dara. I can’t do it. I’m not ready. I’m sorry.” He kept mumbling but Dara heard him clearly. She held onto to prevent herself from making any sobbing sound. Jiyong wasn’t even staring at her. He was looking anywhere else but her. She knew this was a big step, having a baby. Her and Jiyong haven’t even dated for a year. They were both clueless.

“What are we going to do?” Dara finally questioned knowing Jiyong wasn’t going to say anything else but that. She bit into her lip as the tears constantly fell down her cheek.

“I don’t know. I need to think. I need to be alone.” Dara gulped as she heard him speak. She waited for a few seconds, and when she knew he was actually being serious, she left his house without any words and decided to walk back to her
