The Misconceptions of Us
I don't know how long I've been crying. I wake up laying on the couch. My hair a mess.
I look at the clock at my center table. It's already 8 AM!!!
I need to be at the university in 30 minutes.
I shower as fast as possible and put on an oversized hoodie and skinny jeans.
I'm 25 minutes to late.
The professor just gives me a weird look and continues to talk about the exam we would write tomorrow.
Today is one of my shorter days at the university.
My last season ends at 2 PM. After that I go home not feeling too well.
I call my boss that I wouldn't come today. he says it would be okay as long as I'm back tomorrow.
All I want to do is sleep. And foget about the drama in my life right now.
I wake up from my phone ringing. I look at the caller ID.
Hyera.
I feel a bit disappointed. I hoped it would be Key.
"Hey" I reply my phone.
"What's wrong? Why weren't you at work today?" She asks.
Hyera is a good friend of mine. I got to know her from work.
"I don't feel good today."
"Are you sick?"
"No..."
"What's then?"
"Heartbroken..." I reply in a whisper.
"Oh honey... I will come"
"No, no you don't need to!"
"Don't be silly! I will see you in 10"
Before I can say something she hangs up. I look at the clock on my phone.
9 PM.
I go out of bed and walk to the kitchen to make myself and Hyera some tea.
Like Hyera said, she stands 10 minutes later in front of my door.
"Tell me what happened?!"
"Well, Hello to you too." I chuckle a bit.
She grins and I let her inside. We sit down at the couch where Key I were sitting minutes before our break up.
I put Hyera's teacup at the center table and sit down next to her.
"Wow... "
She says meaning the books and used tissues at the ground.
"Well, you can't keep everything clean when you're studying..."
"Yeah. Yeah. Of course" She winks.
"So tell me what happened?!" She asks with a caring but at the same time exiting voice.
"Well, Key and me broke up..."
"What?!?!?!? But... NOO!!! You were such a cute couple!!!"
I look down.
"What happened?" She asks now just a caring tone in her voice. The exiting tone is gone.
"He fell in love with his best friend..."
"What?! He is gay?!!"
I look at her weird.
"No. Nicole... She was his best friend when he lived in L.A and she came to seoul. some month ago..."
"Oh. Her... I think you told me about her once."
"Yeah. Could be possible..."
"So. He throw 2 years of happy relationship with you away? For his long lost friend?!"
"Yup."
"Are you still friends, or....?"
"No. I don't think so"
Silence.
"Well, see it from the good side" Hyera tries to cheer me up.
"Which good side?" I hiss at her.
"You are single again! New men new adventures!!!"
I sigh. "I'm not the type of girl who flirts with every single guy!"
"Maybe you are but you didn't get the chance to test it!!"
"It's nice from you to try and cheer me up but I think I want to be sad for a little bit longer..."
Hyera smiles a reassuring smile at me. "Okay... I will let you alone now... Don't do something stupid!!! It all goes better somewhen!!"
"Okay... " I smile.
"Thank you"
"Thank you for the tea." Hyera says.
"No problem"
"See you tomorrow?"
"Yup"
"Okay then,..... Bye"
"Bye"
I walk her to my front door. I close the door and lean against it.
After a while I make my way to my bedroom again not bothering to clean up the living room even if should do it.
