Masquerade

I watched as Yoong drove off with that Yuri girl sleeping soundly in the passenger seat. *sigh*
I wonder what will happen when those two get back. I mean Yuri is definitely drunk and Yoong, I guess he probably is a
little tipsy since he drank a bit....
He'll probably carry her to her condo, then lay her down on the bed, then oh my gosh don't tell me that Yoong will take
advantage of Yuri?!?! Eyy~ what am I thinking, Yoong isn't that kind of guy, plus I don't think Yuri would be his
type...but...but what if Yuri wakes up while Yoong is laying her on her bed and the they stare into each other's eyes, letting
their gazes slowly pull them in closer and closer until they.....
“NOOOO!!” I screamed out.
“Holy cow Jessi, you scared me, what happened? Are you okay?” Hae asked quickly pulling the car to the side of the rode.
“What? Oh yeah, I-I just, nothing I'm fine.” I stuttered.
“Are you sure? I mean you've been zoned out ever since we left and then you just yell out.” Hae looked at me worriedly.
Yeah? Why am I even thinking about them. I mean so what if something happens, they're both adults, and neither are
attached so.. yeah I shouldn't be feeling like this, but I just can't help it....Because Yoong is my best friend.
“Hehe Hae you know that zoning out is my thing.” I joked, easing the mood a bit.
“Yeah, but why did you yell out all of a sudden?” He cupped my cheek.
“Oh well, I was thinking about what would happen if my greatest fear came true.” I lied.
“Don't tell me it's about that giant cucumber nightmare you had.” Hae chuckled, while I just nodded my head.
“Aigoo~ Jessi don't worry no giant cucumber will get you, I promise.” Hae smiled and kissed my forehead lovingly before
driving off once again.
*Sigh* but what if the thing chasing me wasn't a giant cucumber, but a person, who I slipped and fell for but yet no one is
there to catch me..will you still promise me that he won't get me? YAH! Jessica Jung Sooyeon! Stop thinking about that!
You moved on already! No more wandering thoughts!!
“Goodnight Jessi.” Hae smiled and gave me a chaste kiss, before I entered my house.
“Oh Sooyeon, your...”
“Daddy, I want to move out and get a condo.” I cut my dad off.
“What?! Why? Just move out when you marry with that guy okay?” My dad gave me a pleading look.
“No daddy, I need to move to Twin Trooper's Tower!” I demanded.
“Sooyeon why do you want to move out all of a sudden?”
“Because I'm already 23 years old, I need to start being independent.” I replied, yeah that's so the reason why.
“Really? You want to live away from the maids?” My dad asked, stifling a laugh.
“Daddy, I think it's time for me to spread my wings.” I chuckled at my cheesy line.
“Okay, Sooyeon, but what if you have weird or erted neighbors? I can't have that, if you move out, I'll be getting you a
bodyguard.”
“Daddy I'm too old for a bodyguard, plus Yoong lives there, so we might be neighbors.” I replied.
“Really?! Im Yoong lives there, well that's great! I've always liked that child, I mean he is my godchild. I know I can trust
Yoong. But wait, Sooyeon how do you know Yoong?” My dad gave me a questioning/teasing look.
“Oh, well I didn't know he was an Im before...”
“Ah, you met him as Stephen then.” My dad cut me off.
“Mhm, we actually met at the masquerade ball I was forced to go to.” I pouted, remembering the argument I had with my
dad about that stupid party, but now I am forever thankful to daddy for making me go.
“AH! So he was the guy you danced with at that time.” My dad beamed.
“Y-you saw us?” I asked.
“Of course, I had my eyes on you the whole time, since that other guy left your side to do whatever.” My dad sounded
annoyed.
“Daddy, Hae just went to find Tiff since he begged her to come for me.” I defended my fiancee.
“Tch~ sure okay. But Sooyeon, you know that even though I approved off you two, I'm still having doubts about this whole
you spending the rest of your life with him.” My dad gave me his I-still-don't-like-him look.
Yep, dad did give us his blessing and everything, but he still doesn't like Hae. I honestly don't know why, I mean Hae has
been very kind and respectful towards my parents. And he and Krys, get along pretty well.
“Daddy, we've talked about this.” I held my dad's hand.
“I know Sooyeon, I just hope that you aren't going to regret this in the end.” My dad gave me a sad smile.
Why is everyone telling me that I might regret this? I won't regret it, I mean I love Hae right?
“Don't worry dad, I don't think I'll regret this, I mean marriage is about love right? And I wouldn't marry him if I didn't love
him.” I assured my dad.
“Alright then Sooyeon, I won't bring this up anymore, but I just wished it was Yoong you're marrying..” my dad mumbled the
last part, but I heard him perfectly.
“Daddy, Yoong and I are just friends. Nothing more okay.” I replied, my dad looking surprised that I heard him.
“Okay, Sooyeon, but I just hoped that my advice to you came true that night when I saw you two dance.” My dad replied,
before heading to his study, probably to do work or something.
Going to bed, I couldn't help but try to remember what advice my dad was talking about earlier. Hmmmm, what did he tell
me that night before the masquerade ball....Ah he told me to be careful, because I might end up falling for a stranger..haha
funny, how I told him that that only happens in the movies, but only now do I know, that I undeniably fell in love with a
stranger that night.. The sad part is that we weren't meant to be from the start...
Aigoo~ Jessica stop thinking about this, it's not meant to be, because your meant to be with Hae. Yup, so just let sleep take
over, and forget about life just for a bit.

Yoong's POV
I woke up at 8am today, because I had a feeling that Yul might have a major hangover after all the shots she had last night.
So, I quickly got ready for the day, and went over to her unit, so I can prepare her breakfast.
I entered her unit, and the first thing I did was rearrange some things, well not much had to be done since the unit was
already organized when I took her home last night.
After cleaning up a bit, I slowly made my way inside's Yuri's room. I chuckled a bit seeing how she still sleeps with her
tongue sticking out, and of course being the choding prankster that I am. I didn't forget to take a selca of me and her. So
using that later on. Keke.
I watched her sleep for a bit, and then I was reminded of the time Jessica got sick right at the start of winter.
Flashback
“And you said that you don't get sick because your an ice princess.” I chuckled at the now glaring sick girl in front of me.
“Yeah, coming from the guy that also said that he won't get sick from a little rain.” She mocked.
“Haha okay okay, we're even.” I laughed before making sure she's nice and comfy in her king size bed.
“I know.” She replied, before going into a coughing fit.
“Here, have some water.” I gave her the glass.
“Alright, now you better get some sleep okay?” I ordered her, and was about to make her some porridge when she
suddenly held onto my wrist.
“Stay..please” She asked sounding so frail.
“Okay, okay.” I agreed, I can never refuse her requests.
I was about to sit back down on the chair, I moved next to her bed, when she shook her head no, and patted the spot next
to her.
“Stay here.” She demanded.
“I'm starting to think you want to get me sick too.” I chuckled while she pouted.
“Aigoo~ arraso.” I think, actually scratch that, I know that I'm whipped, by my own best friend.
Laying down next to her, she automatically snuggled closer to me and by reflex, I wrapped my arms around her.
“Comfy?” I asked after she snuggled up.
“Mhm, thanks Stephen” She smiled but she still looked so weak and sick.
“Don't worry about it, I'll always be here for you.” I replied, letting her fall into a deep slumber before slowly getting up to
prepare her meal and medicine.
I quickly went into their kitchen and prepared Sica's meal. Coming back into her room, I was greeted by a pouting and
sulking girl, who had tears streaming down her face. A huge wave of worry came over me and in a flash, I managed to put
the tray on the side table, and quickly hugged the sulking princess.
“Sica, hey what's the matter.” I asked rubbing her back to help calm her down. This isn't good, her fever is getting really
bad, she's burning up.
“I-I-I thought you left. You said you were going to stay.” She cried.
“Sica, I just went down to get you some food and medicine. Your really really hot.” I replied.
“I know I am.” She nonchalantly replied, before letting go and showing me her smile, that never fails to make my heart race.
Her weird mood swings also, keep me on a roller coaster ride.
“That's not what I meant you dork.” I playfully pinched her cheek.
“Yeah, but you know it's true.” She chuckled.
“Haha okay fine, now come here and eat your porridge before it gets cold then you need to drink your medicine.”
“Yes sir.” She playfully saluted.
“Aigoo~ how old are you? I feel like I'm a dad taking care of his sick daughter I chuckled.”
“Hmm, more like a husband taking care of his wife.” She chuckled.
But she didn't know how I wish that was the case.
“Okay okay enough jokes, and eat.” I sternly said.
“I don't want to.” She shook her head, crossed her arms, and looked away.
