MasqueradeA/N: okay before moving onto the first chapter I just want to let everyone know that this story will be in Jessica's POV unless noted other wise^^. I'm experimenting with a new writing style, kinda.

“Daddy do I really have to go tonight?” I pouted at my father who is, for once, forcing me to go to some stupid business
party. As if I have nothing else better to do then attend a party filled with old aristocrats that have nothing better to do with
their lives.
“Sooyeon, I know you hate going to these things, since they bore you, but this masquerade ball is being held by our
company and many very important partners will be in attendance, so you have to come. Also, I want you to meet Ji-hoon's
son.”
“But daddy~~ I don't want to, can you just lie and say I'm sick? Besides, Krystal will be there, so I'm not needed. And, since
when did Uncle Ji-hoon have a son? I mean how is it even possible for Uncle Ji-hoon's son to hide from the media and
netizens, since Uncle Ji-hoon is the C.E.O of Im Corporations?” I whined.
“Sooyeon, your the heir to OUR company, so you must attend, even if your sister will be there. And yes, Im Ji-hoon, does
have a son, but Ji-hoon kept him out of the eyes of the public, so that he can live a quiet life. Ji-hoon was suppose to
introduce his son to the public when he turned 15, but his son asked him not to until he takes full control of their company.”
Daddy explained.
Well that guy is lucky. He didn't have to grow up showering people with fake smiles, so that they won't talk badly about the
company or our family names. I wish I had that too, a normal peaceful life.
“Daddy~~ can't Uncle Ji-hoon just bring him here for dinner or something? And besides why do you want me to meet him?”
I glared at my dad.
“Sooyeon, I just want you to meet him, don't worry I won't force you to marry him or anything if that's what you have in mind
as the reason why I am forcing you to come. You know full well that I give you full control of your life right? I want you to be
there, because you will graduate from university soon and will end up having to attend these boring parties, so why not
start now.” My dad explained and reasoned.
Aish~ there's no point in arguing now, since my dad gave his full explanation as well as a you-have-no-other-choice-since-
I'm-still-your-dad look.
“Okay fine, I'll go. But I'm bringing Hae with me too.” I obliged to my dad's request.
“If bringing that guy will make you feel better then fine. But Sooyeon you know how I feel about him right?” My dad frowned
and pouted.
Sometimes I really wonder how old my dad is, since he can be very childish.
“Daddy, you know that I love Hae, and you said it yourself that I have full control of my life.”
“I know but I'm still your dad, Sooyeon, so doesn't it matter to you that I don't approve of him?”
Aish~ here we go again. My dad and I always argue about my boyfriend Donghae, or Hae, because my dad knows that
Hae is a player and stuff, but that was in the past. Hae is different now. He no longer is a player or bad boy, he told me this
himself because when he confessed he told me that I was the one that changed his old attitude since he is really serious
about me, so I accepted him, even though I didn't really like him that much, but after a couple months, I ended up falling for
him, and now here we are still going strong for the last 2 years.
“Daddy you know your approval matters to me, but can't you just believe me when I say that Hae isn't like what he used to
be anymore.” I gave my dad a stern look.
“Okay fine, Sooyeon-ah, I'm done arguing about the boy anyways, so if he makes you happy and if you really love him,
then you got my approval.”
“Daddy, it's been 2 years and your only now telling me this?” I shook my head teasingly.
“I know, but I just don't like him. Anyways, Sooyeon, the party is in a couple hours so I suggest you prepare yourself and tell
that guy too.” My dad smiled and pointed at his wrist watch.
“Okay, I'll go get ready now.” I said and was about to walk out of my dad's study when he called out to me. Aish~ what
now?
“Oh and Sooyeon.” He said.
“Yes?” I turned around.
“Be very careful tonight, because you might find yourself falling in love with a stranger.” My dad joked.
“Daddy, falling in love with stranger at a masquerade ball only happens in the movies, besides I already have Hae.” I
chuckled at my dad's childishness.
Hae and I arrived at the masquerade ball a little after 7pm, so we were both fashionably late, since the party started at
6:30pm. And even though we were running late, I refused to rush or run, since I never do that. My motto is: Never run no
matter how late you are.
The venue my dad picked out was very nice and luxurious. The food was the best of the best, and so was the orchestra.
Hae and I walked around for a bit, until I spotted my family, since they decided to only cover half their faces, and we made
our way towards them.
“See daddy, I'm here, so please don't bombard my phone with text messages.” I lifted the mask off my face.
“I knew you would come, but I just wanted to make sure.” My dad smiled and put his phone away before he got a chance to
send out a text.
“Unnie~ I'm surprise you actually agreed to come and actually showed up.” My sister laughed
“Yeah, me too.” I laughed along with her.
My sister, Krystal, or Krys, is very special to me. We get along pretty well, but we also have our moments, when we bicker.
“Oh Donghae oppa is here too.” My sister said and gave a forced smile towards Hae.
“Ah, Hello, Krystal, Mr and Mrs. Jung.” Hae politely bowed to my parents.
“Hello there Donghae, how are you doing?” My mom asked half heartedly.
“Great, thank you for your concern.” Hae smiled, which my parents replied with fake smiles.
Confession time, my whole family doesn't like Hae, but I guess daddy talked to mom and Krys, so the two are being nicer
to him, also, Hae has no idea my family disapproves of him. He thinks that they are just cold like I am.
We stayed with my parents, until dad went on stage, dragging me along, and thanking everyone for coming and blah blah
blah~~
“Oh Ji-hoon, there you are, I was looking for you.” My dad smiled and patted uncle Ji-hoon's shoulder, after we got down
