Another 2 months and 4 days have past and it's now April, which means my birthday is today^^. Hae and I are still

engaged, because we decided to wait until after we graduate and we also haven't publicly announced it since the wedding

is still far from now. Honestly, I don't even know why he proposed that early, I guess he just couldn't wait keke.

 

 

As for Yoong, well I'm sure he's doing well, since Im Corporations is still number 1. I haven't really texted him since

valentines day and he hasn't texted me back too, so yeah. Don't get me wrong he and I are still friends, it's just, our lives

got busier I guess.

 

 

Since today is my special day, daddy is throwing a huge party. But I got to choose the theme. Do you know what the theme

is? I bet you do~~ keke well it's a masquerade ball.

 

 

Daddy asked me why I chose that as a theme, but I just smiled and told him that I met a special friend at the last one I went

to.

 

 

But honestly, I know that somewhere deep in my heart, I chose to have a masquerade ball because I'm hoping and praying

that maybe just maybe, he will walk through those double doors and surprise me, maybe even run into me again, like the

last time. Keke.

 

 

God I must sound like such a bad fiancee right now, but it's because I miss my best friend, not anything else.

 

 

I was walking around the ball with Hae, when we spotted a familiar figure entering the hall.

 

 

“Tiff!” I yelled and walked over to my best friend, who is wearing a very lovely light pink dress.

 

 

“Hehe~ Happy Birthday Jessi~~” Tiffany gave me a hug.

 

 

“Thanks Tiff, but where's Tae? Don't tell me you guys argued about him sulking about Yoong again.” I groaned in

frustration.

 

 

Yep, ever since Yoong left, Tae has been a pouty sulky kid. He only lightens up when he and Tiffany are together on a

date or other things, I prefer not to know. But other than that, he's like a child that lost his mom, and it's actually really funny

to see Tiff jealous about that.

 

 

One time, she even threatened to break up with him because of it, but they made up that same day or should I say night.

 

 

“No~ TaeTae had to finish some work at the company, and I wanted to wait for him, but I just couldn't be late for your

birthday party, so TaeTae said I could go ahead since he still had to pick some things up along the way.” Tiffany explained.

 

 

“Ahh~ well, okay as long as that thing is my birthday present.” we both chuckled.

 

 

“Oh Jessi, nice bracelet by the way, I haven't seen you wear it before, where did you get it?” Tiffany asked noticing my

silver cartier love bracelet.

 

 

“Huh oh this? I got it from Yoong.” I smiled, remembering how giddy Krystal was while showing me the package from the

mail 2 months ago.

 

 

“Really? Omo~ why?” Tiffany asked.

 

 

“It was his christmas present.” I lied.

 

 

“Tch~ lucky~ he only gave me a Yves Saint Lauren purse.” Tiffany pouted.

 

 

“Haha Tiff you shouldn't be jealous of Jessi, I'm sure Taeng probably got you something even nicer.” Hae smiled.

 

 

“Yeah, he got us custom necklaces. Mine is a lock, and his is the key.” Tiffany smiled showing her necklace, which also

had their names engraved. Well the bracelet also something engraved in it. Keke. But that's my secret.

 

 

Hae, Tiff, and I talked for another half an hour or so, before I had to go up on stage.

 

 

“Hi everyone, thank you for attending my 23rd birthday. Honestly, I never was fond of these types of events, and I'm sure

many of you know that, but well now I quite enjoy these things. Why? Well that's my own little secret haha. But again, thank

you for coming and please enjoy the rest of the evening.” I smiled and got down the stage, while the orchestra began to

play, an all too familiar song.

 

 

“May I have this dance?” Hae asked, and I nodded my head while he led me to the dance floor.

 

 

“Are you enjoying your day?” He asked me while he wrapped his arms around my waist, and I encircled my arms around

his neck.

 

 

“Of course, it's my birthday.” I chuckled.

 

 

“I'm glad.” He smiled.

 

 

“Why? Did you think I wasn't?” I tilted my head to the side.

 

 

“No, it's just that, nothing, never mind just forget I said anything.” Hae smiled.

 

 

I was about to question him further, when we were suddenly interrupted.

 

 

“Um, is it okay if I have a quick dance with the birthday girl.” The guy with a plain white mask asked, but I knew who that

guy is, the minute I saw his doe-eyes.

 

 

“Of course, Jessi you don't mind right?” Hae asked.

 

 

“Um no, it would be rude of me to decline right?” I replied and Hae passed me on to his hand, before walking off the floor.

 

 

“Happy Bir-Ahhhhhh” He didn't get to finish since I pinched his arm, before wrapping my arms around his neck.

 

 

“Oww what was that for.” He pouted, but he still held onto my waist.

 

 

“Hmm well let's see. First, you lie and say you don't know anything about Y.S, 2nd, after revealing who you are, you just

disappear and don't contact me for 2 months, and 3rd you never contacted me again after that.” I listed out all his wrong

doings, while he avoided my gaze.

 

 

“I'm sorry Sica, I really am, I was busy because I wanted to finish all my work overseas so that I could come back here and

be with you..er I mean you guys again and also be back in time for your birthday.” Yoong smiled.

 

 

“Yeah, well a text every now and then would have been nice you know.”

 

 

“I know, but hey, you were busy too right? I mean I heard your President at Jung Corp. now.” Yoong smiled.

 

 

“Yeah well, I guess we both were busy.” I gave up in arguing. I don't know why, but I rarely win in arguments when it's

against this guy.

 

 

“Exactly, so let me say it this time okay?” Yoong asked and I nodded my head.

 

 

“Okay, well then Happy Birthday Sicachu, my lovely best friend.” Yoong gave me his playful smile that I missed.. a lot.

 

 

“Thank you Im Choding.” I stuck my tongue out at him.

 

 

“So Sica, how have you been? I saw you wearing the bracelet I gave you, but why not the necklace?” He pouted.

 

 

“Well, the necklace didn't go with my outfit.” I lied. In fact I really wanted to wear the necklace, but I never did. I haven't even

worn it once. I don't know why.

 

 

“Ah. I see.” Yoong gave an awkward smile.

 

 

“Tch~ are you really that upset about it?” I asked.

 

 

“No~” He sounded like a lost child.

 

 

“Alright then~~ But hey how did you get here in the first place?” I asked, I mean he literally just popped out of nowhere.

 

 

“Oh Taeng brought me here. I texted him yesterday about it.” He revealed.

 

 

That midget! Aish~ always hiding important things from me. Meh~ I'll let Tae off the hook this once since he brought me my

best friend.

 

 

“Ah~~” I answered.

 

 

We continued dancing, but when the song was about to end I dropped the bomb on him.

 

 

“I'm engaged.” I managed to smile at him, but for a split second there I thought that I saw sadness in his eyes.

 

 

“Oh really? Wow, um, congratulations. I-I-I'm really happy for you and Donghae.” He smiled, but I knew it was fake. Why

are you sad Yoong? Oh right......Aish~ idiot Jessi, but he had to know right?

 

 

“Yoong about what you said in your lett....”

 

 

“Jessi, don't worry about it. Just forget I wrote that okay? Because I already did.” Yoong replied.

 

 

Why did it feel like a thousand knives just stabbed my heart when he told me to forget his confession? Do you really not

love me anymore Yoong? But I shouldn't be upset about this, I mean I'm engaged. Yoong and I...we aren't just suppose to

happen. And still, a part of me wants us to happen. Aish~ Jessi! You promised yourself not to be confused anymore. You

already chose Hae. Your already ENGAGED to him so stop thinking about that. Yoong and me, it's just never going to

happen...........................

 

 

After dropping the news on him, Yoong and I just continued to dance, but after a minute, the song ended.

 

 

“Well that's my cue.” Yoong smiled once the song ended and led me back to Hae.

 

 

“Thank you for the dance Sica.” Yoong smiled and bowed like a gentleman.
