“Where are you going?” Kylie asks Kris who’s putting on his coat

“To get some money from the bank for a client who wants to withdraw 5% of his shares.” he mumbled

“You’re sick.” Kylie looks at him in disbelief

“And I have something to do.”

“You’re not well, do it some other time.”

“I can’t, I promised.” he curtly replies and opens the door

“I’ll come with you.”

Kylie walked first before Kris because she didn’t feel comfortable walking near him and she had a lot in mind. She wanted to cross the road and she wasn’t even thinking; a car was speeding up towards her but she didn’t even realize it. It wasn’t until the car was honking loudly did Kylie turn her head and noticed it was too late for her to move.

“Kylie!” Kris shouted and pulled her wrist. She was spun around due to the sudden pull and crashed against his chest hard; resulting in him falling onto the grass and holding onto her “Are you okay?” he asks and was worried as ever

She was definitely shocked, just a split second ago; she could’ve been run over and had her soul taken away from her body and die just like that. It was spontaneous because she hugged him back, her body reacted to how she felt and she felt scared, she felt grateful, happy, loved… Her heart was beating fast inside her, maybe it was because of what just happened, maybe it was because she just felt too happy but still wasn’t able to show but it hadn’t occur to her that maybe she just liked him. Maybe she always has.

She sobbed silently in his embrace and Kris finally noticed she was actually crying “Kylie…” he wanted to look at her but she stood still; with her arms wrapped around him securely and her face against his chest. He softens “It’s okay, you’re okay, you’re safe.” he kept cradling her back and forth. It didn’t matter how many eyes were watching them because he wanted her safe and other’s opinions or thoughts was definitely not something Kylie would consider. He hugged her until she finally stopped sobbing. Kylie stood up and brushes the dirt on her pants

“We need to get going, you have someone to meet remember.” she said quietly without looking at him

“Kylie.” Kris called out softly

“Come on.” she said without looking at him and carefully crossed the road

Kris was angry at himself for still not being able to make Kylie trust him again “Stupid Kris.” he sighs

“I’m sorry I’m late.” Kris apologized when he enters the room “We had a bit of a problem.”

“We?” the male stood up and saw another walking behind Kris
