This Is Us
I look at myself in the mirror and fixed my dress. I’m wearing a long dark blue satin dress and for the first time in years; I tied my hair up into a bun. My image of rebelling is totally destroyed. I sprayed some perfume before grabbing my 2 inch heels and walking into the living room.
“Kris?” I called out
He stepped out of his room and runs his fingers through his hair while I stood there like a statue staring at my gay best friend “Like what you see?” he smirked when he noticed
“My preference would be totally but this would do.” I grinned while he rolls his eyes “Let me just fix that hair of yours.” I walk towards him and he bent down so that I could reach him easier and I fixed it into a neater style which my parents would be ‘okay’ with “Good, now let’s go.”
“My car or yours?” he asks, I gave him a blunt look “Right.” he chuckles and grabs his keys

The worker opens the door for me once we arrived and I looked up to this huge lavish hotel which I never knew existed because I don’t care.
“Why are you nervous?” Kris whispered
“I’m not nervous.” I mumbled
“Then why do you keep playing with your fingers?” he motions and I look down to see that he’s right “It’s gonna be okay, trust me.” he grabs my hand and kisses it
“This way please.” the man leads the way
Okay, maybe I am nervous because the last time I saw my parents was more than a year ago. I KNOW! It’s like I don’t even have any despite of the money coming into my bank account each month; which is more than enough for me but I don’t mind. Who doesn’t love money?
The receptionist ticked out our name on the guest list and some other guy showed us to our table and I gave a huge sigh of relief to see that my parents haven’t arrived yet. Kris and I settled in our own seats and before I could even start to hope they won’t show up; two figures caught my eyes. Kris followed my eyes and stood up.
“Mr and Mrs.Park.” he bowed 90 degrees while I stood there like an idiot before standing up and doing the same
Not exactly 90 degrees but at least I bowed “Mom, dad.”
My mom had her eyes on Kris as the four of us sit “And you are?”
“My be…” I didn’t get to finish when Kris hold my hand which was on my lap
“I’m a friend of Kylie, pleased to meet you.” he flashes his smile
The old hag just smiled in a mocking way that I could’ve just smacked her if it wasn’t for Kris patting my hand telling me to calm down “I see.” dad nods
“And how exactly do you know each other?” she raises a brow “I hope you’re not her party clubbing friends without a future to look forward to, those kinds of people are such a waste. Their existence plays no part in this world; pathetic.” now do you know why I hate them? or at least her.
“We go to the same college.” Kris replies calmly
“Oh…” she seems a bit impressed considering our college is for people who can afford high fees, either that or scholarship “Scholarship or…?”
“I wasn’t planning to get a scholarship since it wasn’t really necessary but I received one when I took the entrance exam so instead of burdening my parents with the fees, why not take it yes?” he replied in a way that she would
“Of course.” she nods with a less-mocking smile
“We didn’t quite caught your name.” my dad spoke
“Pardon me for being rude, it’s Kris Wu.” he bows slightly
