Like the leaves fell in autumn, Minhwa’s heart fell for a dancer starting college, it wasn’t romantic either nice, he just attended the dance club to substituted a friend who had the flu. The warming up was hard, Yunho was strict and everybody called him by another name, in the end, it was revealed that he wasn’t that person.

Yunho was mad at him for mock dance, still Hyukjae stepped in, helping him, saying Minhwan always made and effort because a friend, said friend who dropped school and never show to the dance team.

It was maybe cliché falling for the person who help you out, or maybe because since the first day, Minhwan put effort because admiration towards Hyukjae.

“What are you doing?”

Minhwan set his spectacles over the bridge of his nose, cringing it when he saw Kyuhyun.

“Himchan-ssi told me you were yesterday to the café”

Kyuhyun grinned sitting in the desk next to Minhwan.

“Reading the sheets, tomorrow will must sing these lirycs.”

Kyuhyun nodded taking the papers, reading them and grinning.

“Madame butterfly? Piece of cake, I sang it last year.”

Minhwan sighed taking back the sheets.

“I can’t reach the high note, I afraid to fail and tomorrow I have a date with Hyukjae, life .”

Kyuhyun beamed “I can go instead of you!”

“You must attend that class too, is the final exam.”

Kyuhyun face dropped, what to do?

Minhwan furrowed his lips “Why do you like Hyukjae?”

“Mn?” Kyuhyun was lost in his thoughts when he grinned “He is cool, cute, y, and nice.”

“That’s light, you don’t know him.”

“I want to know him, I think he is special, I don’t know how to explain it though.”

Minhwan didn’t say more, he couldn’t dare to say Kyuhyun he asked the same thing to Hyukjae two days ago, Hyukjae turned with a thin smile rubbing his chin while setting the cake he ordered.

“Because he is cute and I want to know him.”

Minhwan ate the piece of cake that day, he told Hyukjae Jiyong was cute and Yunho was handsome, still Hyukjae just nodded.

“Maybe because he has something special.”

It is sad, first love isn’t always nice and pretty, Minhwan knew today after talking with Kyuhyun. First love hurts because you can never forget it since is tattooed in the soul.

“I see… just,” Kyuhyun raised his eyes and Minhwan chuckled, eyes again over the sheets “study for tomorrow exam.”

Maybe if Minhwan told Hyukjae again he loves him, Hyukjae finally notice that love words were said as love itself and not friendship, anyhow, when Minhwan opened his eyes, Hyukjae glomped over him kissing his cheek.

“Kyuhyun walked me home yesterday, he is really cute.”

Minhwan forced his smile, hearing Hyukjae talking about yesterday and how the rain wasn’t the only one pounding in his ears but his heart as well.

“You have fun then.”

Hyukjae nodded at his friend, both walking to the dance club, Hyukjae opened the door, Jongin waltzing to him.

“I made a great job teaching them the steps.”

Taemin smiled nodding when he locked his eyes with Hyukjae who grinned.

“I memorized all the steps for my competition, Jongin help me though.”

Hyukjae ruffled Jongin’s hair who removed, he wasn’t used at all to be treated as a kid.

“I’ll go and watch you that day.”

“Everyone else, I must tell you principal told me about a competition next month, it’ll be different from the ones we have had, this is an international one, you must pack since will be held in U.S.A.”

The dancers looked at each other, then at Hyukjae who nodded with a wide grin and Minhwan who make a ‘v’ sing before everybody jumped hugging each other.

“We’re go to the States!!” Jongup beamed with a grin.

Hyukjae clapped his hands to gain attention.

“Don’t be so happy, is it true the school already got a sponsor for us thanks to Yunho recommendation, so we must train until pass out, got it?”

“Yes! Sunbae-nim!!”

Minhwan was always proud of Hyukjae, many people said Hyukjae was a dork and a loser, the true was Hyukjae was outstanding if you watch him dance, he maybe wasn’t the most handsome or beautiful, still he had charisma and the will to be his own self.

“I’m proud for you, your dream is be a dancer in Broadway.”

Hyukjae hugged Minhwan when Chanjgo broke the cheering.

“Hyung, what about your work, one month is few time to practice, less if you have to work five out of seven days.”

The mood went glum and Minhwan smiled.

“I will be his personal sponsor, you know I’m rich and I’m not flattering myself, Hyukjae agreed to quit his job meanwhile, after all, he will work hard and pay me back after being a recognized dancer.”

Hyukjae watched baffled his friend before a smile broke on his face with glowing eyes mouthing thanks.

It was maybe his first love that leaded him to say those words, or recognition about Hyukjae skills, what Minhwan heart couldn’t control was how Kyuhyun entered in the room beside a pissed Donghae who grabbed Hyukjae by the collar shirt.

“What did you do, huh?”

The celebration stopped as the freshman dancers watched Hyukjae blinking lost.

“Hi? I miss you too Donghae.”

Donghae scoffed shoving off Hyukjae.

“First Yunho sunbae choose you, now you’re mocking my life!”

Kyuhyun grabbed Donghae trying to calm him down.

“What’s wrong with you Hae?!”

Kyuhyun shouted out being shrugged off.

“What’s wrong with me? You just told me you love this loser and think I’ll accept it!?”

Hyukjae widened his eyes, and Kyuhyun watched the room alarmed, especially Hyukjae who was still swallowing the words.

“You… just don’t like but love… me?”

Kyuhyun slapped his face embarrassed and nodded coyly, if you can’t negate, just accept it.

All eyes were over Kyuhyun, Hyukjae and Donghae, the first red trying to explain this mess, the second feeling giddy and confused because Donghae behavior and the latter fuming in rage about his love being taken off him, all eyes on them and no one even glanced Minhwan for a second, it was not that he wanted attention, Minhwan’s heart just wanted Hyukjae, whom opened his lips to say words he didn’t hear because his ears were sealed by fear and his eyes just read the uttered expression.

“I-I like you too.”

Donghae almost punched Hyukjae, Minhwan was the one whom received the hit, feeling dizzy and his lip broken.

“Minhwan!”

Hyukjae grabbed his friend and Donghae fumed outside the room glaring at Hyukjae.

“Just wait, someday I’ll take everything back.”

Kyuhyun bit his lower lip, chase after Donghae or stay with Hyukjae, his mind told him to go after his friend, still his body stood in place bending to help Minhwan stand.

“Let’s go to the infirmary.”

Hyukjae eyes were grateful and Kyuhyun knew he made the right choice, his heart told him and Minhwan closed his eyes while walking.

“It hurts?”

Hyukjae asked, Minhwan nodded silently his head, b tears falling.

“I bet it hurts a lot, his lip is bleeing.”

Minhwan chuckled bitterly, his lip was sore but the real pain was in his chest, that was the one really bleeding right now.

First love , and still Minhwan yearned for it. Hyukjae was warm not matter if he was holding him while watching Kyuhyun and Kyuhyun was reassuring smiling to him.

To Minhwan, being Hyukjae’s friend, was enough.
