“Princess…”

No answer.

“Krystal…”

At least I earned a glare. Much better than being ignored again and again, right?

“Soojung…”

She slammed her fists on the table. Now I’m scared.

“What do you want?”

Angry Jung is a sight to see. I could feel my entire body shiver with the coldness in her voice.

“Uhm, I said would you like me to give you a massage?”

I gave her a small smile.

She just shrugged her shoulders and went back to reading a cookbook at the dining table.

“Please let me, princess. You seem so stressed these past few days and I just want to help. By giving you a massage?”

My puppy eyes met cold air as she’s ignoring me again.

I’m not giving up so easily though. So I dragged the chair I’m sitting to get closer to her side and reached out to place my palms on her shoulders but the moment my hand touched her skin, she instantly jolted and pushed me away.

“CAN’T YOU SEE THAT I’M BUSY? WILL YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!”

She shouted as she turned her head to the opposite side as not to face me.

I felt my chest tighten at the way she reacted. It has always been like this for the past weeks, and I’m sick and tired of it.

I thought I finally am earning a space in her life other than being her servant after that day at the mall when I took her hand and she held on it firmly. But ever since that day she’s slowly drifting away from me again.

Even though I still serve her like a princess, she does not seem to treat me like her servant anymore.

I should be glad that it seems that she’s freeing me but I feel the opposite.

Is she getting tired of me? For I sure am getting tired of this set-up.

I don’t think I could hold it in any longer because I’m afraid of my emotions getting over me. I might have a sudden mad outburst right now and I might end up grabbing her forcefully towards me and kiss the breath out of her.

So I stood up. She’s still looking away.

“I’ll… go then, princess. I’m. Goodnight.”

I was about to walk away when I heard her sigh and say,

“Amber.”

I felt hope light up the instant she softly uttered my name, so I immediately turned around and waited for her to say what she’s going to say.

“l… I just… Just, lock the door when you leave.”

My heart felt heavier with each step I took as I left and locked her door.

‘I think I should really just unlock what I feel for you and let it go from my heart or it will end up killing me inside.’

That night I wasn’t excited on starting my second week at work anymore and just cried myself to sleep.

“I beg your pardon?”

She replied, a bit too loud for my liking.

Yes you heard me right, Miss.

I’m the type of person who grabs hold of what I want the moment it catches my eye. The moment I saw him at the mall while capturing a girl in his arms to keep her from falling, I already wanted him.

And the fact that ‘he’ turned out to be a girl and my newly-hired assistant at that, did not even bother me a bit.

It only made me want her more.

And I’m the type of person who goes after what I want without wasting any time. So I made sure to track down where’s this home that she keeps leaving work early for.

I looked at her straight in the eye and said again,

“Like I said, Miss Jung, I would like to rent one of your apartment units and I don’t want any of your vacancies.”

“I would like to share the unit with Amber Josephine Liu.”
