(ix) disentangled ties
florilegium ✈i just wanted to try writing them if it was possible hihihihihihi
prompt: Imagine person B trying to tie a tie, but they keep failing so person A has to do it for them.
pairing: daestal
it’s nearly twenty minutes since daehyun got out of the shower, but soojung wonders why he still hasn’t come down.
on the other hand, there’s daehyun at their room, standing in front of the full-length body mirror and struggling with his tie. it’s only been a week since he first started working for a health insurance company, but even then, they were required to wear coat and tie. ties aren’t daehyun’s thing.
“why is this so complicated,” he mutters while draping the tie under the collar of his shirt. he attempts to tie it the normal way, in case it might actually work.
a couple of minutes later, it still doesn’t. he might as well ask soojung to buy a ready-to-wear tie.
“daehyun?”
he sighs sullenly. “i hate ties.”
approaching him, soojung laughs as she observes the messy work. she’s not surprised how daehyun still manages to look cute despite his failure to wear a tie. she walks in front of him and offers to help; he doesn’t hesitate, automatically lifting his chin up for her.
“what did the ties ever do to you?” she teases.
he purses his lips. “they make life hard for me.”
she coos, obviously having fun teasing him like this. “do you hear that, mr. tie? daehyun hates you.” she gives a light pat on the tie when she’s finished. “but i don’t hate you, so let’s be friends instead.”
laughing, she exits the room, leaving daehyun pouting like a little kid. she ignores his hey!, to which he responds with a pout but it’s worthless because she doesn’t see it anyway.
he turns back to the mirror and examines the tie again.
“well, mr. tie, i don’t appreciate your flirting with my wife and i am officially breaking your friendship.”
