ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

startled at the ear-splitting scream, myungsoo wakes up annoyed and confused. he turns around to scrutinize his surroundings, and he doesn’t find soojung anywhere so he deduces that the scream from earlier might have belonged from her.

getting up from the bed, he sluggishly walks towards where the voice came from, only to crash into his girlfriend in a disheveled state.

“myungsoo!”

“uh, what,” myungsoo deadpans, rubbing his eyes. “soojung, was that you? what on earth are you doing”—he slightly turns to check the time—“at one in the morning?”

whining, soojung wraps her arms around myungsoo, her body rather shivering. “myungsoo, there’s something in the bathroom!”

“what is it,” myungsoo asks drowsily, making circles around her back.

“i don’t know!” soojung shrieks. “it’s something big and hairy and dark—it’s scary! it was going to eat me but i was quick to run out of the room before it got to me. oh god, oh god, oh god! kill it please or else i’m going to pee on the floor!” she pushes him towards the bathroom.

“okay, okay.”

myungsoo wonders what kind of something was in the bathroom because soojung’s description seemed strange. last time he checked, there were no ghosts inhibiting the room or any news of an alien invasion. grabbing a bat from their closet, he approaches the bathroom, warily turns the light on and… is met with a spider loitering by the toilet.

a chuckle escapes from his lips.

of course, leave it to soojung to exaggerate things like tiny spiders as monsters.

from outside of the bathroom, soojung’s head pops out and carefully scans the room for any more traces of spiders. “myungsoo, are you alive?” she asks in a tiny voice which he finds utterly cute.

a little awake now, he ruffles her messy hair affectionately and pecks her on the nose. “yeah, we’re safe,” he teases. “the monster’s gone now. apparently, you scared it away so it’s gone before i could even show it my awesome moves.”

“no, but seriously!” soojung pouts, grabbing the edge of myungsoo’s shirt. “i was like ah, spider!!! and then the spider was like ah, soojung!!! and i don’t know—it seemed like he was about to come at me!”

“so you knew it was a spider.”

“well, i-”

myungsoo laughs but soojung pouts even more because he finds her ridiculous (even though all he did was just laugh). draping his arm around her shoulder, he pulls her back to bed and embraces her, offering soothing words to make her forget about that damn spider.

the next morning, myungsoo wakes up to soojung in a creased apron and to his favorite chocolate chip pancakes with a carton of fresh milk all set on the table. standing awkwardly by the table is soojung with her hands behind her back.

“good morning,” she greets shyly, her eyes on the floor. “so i made you your favorite pancakes as a… uh, you know, thanks. for last night.”

myungsoo chuckles. “thanks, babe. you could’ve just given me a kiss and i wouldn’t mind.”

“uh, right.”

“or thank you .” he smirks. “thank you doesn’t sound so bad.”
