“what are you doing?”

“what you’re not doing,” kyungsoo answers, his tone shadowed with amusement, as he glances at soojung who’s too preoccupied with his phone. few weeks ago, they’ve both decided it was time for a vacation just the two of them—alone—anywhere but seoul.

they’ve reconsidered jeju island, maldives and bora bora, but casually skips on the last two because where the do they even get money. so, in the end, it’s jeju island once and for all.

they head off to the island tomorrow, and kyungsoo, responsible and punctual as always, decides to pack his things in advance so he will not have to worry about anything the next day. soojung, on the other hand, doesn’t really care because, one way or another, there’s still going to be enough time for her to pack. it’s not like there are a lot of things to bring anyway.

kyungsoo suffers the next few minutes hearing soojung’s string of profanities from because she still hasn’t beaten his top score in 2Fuse, and she wonders because who the hell scores one million plus in a game and she even declares her hatred towards the game, but all kyungsoo ever thinks is how cute denial soojung is.

when he’s finally done nearly an hour later, he plops right next to her and positions her so she’s sitting right between his legs, her back against his chest, while he watches her tapping her fingers furiously against the screen. he snakes his arms around his waist, leans in to take in the sweet aroma of her hair, and laughs every five seconds when soojung puts an end to the combination, reducing the chances of achieving a higher score.

later, soojung almost throws his phone across the room because she still doesn’t beat his high score.

it's one in the morning when kyungsoo wakes up soojung with black coffee (that once reflected her heart) and sweet kisses and morning greetings. the flight is scheduled at exactly 3 A.M. and soojung’s got less than two hours to prepare her suitcase.

one hour and fifty-seven minutes, to be exact.

but soojung begs for five minutes more please.

and it’s fifty-three minutes before the flight when finally soojung wakes up and she’s panicked and furious and annoyed because kyungsoo didn’t wake her up to pack her things.

she’s grabbing clothes from her closet and throwing it on the suitcase while kyungsoo makes sure all the appliance and important stuff are kept in mind. after he’s done, he peeks on a miserable soojung struggling in a haste to pack all the stuff she needs inside her duffel bag, an amused grin etching on his face.

he laughs at her once soojung’s got her clothes tangled from here and from there and soojung flashes him a grim look, and he can only kiss her on the lips to reassure her, and they both leave in a hurry because they don’t want to miss their flight.

it’ll be a worthwhile journey, after all.

(later, soojung realizes she hasn’t brought any extra underwear and bra so she screams and cries into kyungsoo’s neck; kyungsoo smirks because yes, what a good excuse for a holiday in bed.)
