Ryeowook woke up at the sound of the ringing phone. He quickly put his giraffe aside- he slept with the toy, hugging it all night- and went to the living room, to the phone. The light in the room was dim, painting everything in yellow-white colors.
“Hello?” He hesitantly said.
He looked around, searching for Kyuhyun, but the taller man was nowhere around.
“Hello? Wookie? It’s me Sora!” The woman greeted. “Is Kyuhyun somewhere next to you?” “Ah…no, I think he went to work.”
“I see…well anyway, I’m calling because I forgot yesterday. I have a party on Saturday and I want to invite Kyu and you. I hope you guys are free?”
“Thank you very much. I’m free, but I don’t know if Kyuhyun…” Ryeowook answered surprised.
He couldn’t believe someone invited him. He was invited to a party.
“It’s ok, I’m sure he will be free. It’s a baby shower, so don’t be surprised if a lot of kids and couples will be there.”
“I see, ok.” Ryeowook said, mind a little blurry from the schock.
“Yeah, so we have an appointment. Be in our restaurant at 6 pm, ok?”
“We will be.” Ryeowook assured.
“Good, so see you on Saturday, bye Ryeowookie!” She cheered and hung up.
Ryeowook looked around after it and spotted a note on the kitchen table, next to the meal, that Kyuhyun prepared for him. The shorter man sat at the kitchen table and read the note.
I’m at work. I have a lot to do, so don’t wait for me.
Kyuhyun
Ryeowook hummed understanding and started eating his breakfast. After this, he took a shower. He get used to Kyuhyun’s disappearing because of his job. He knew Kyuhyun was busy and devoted to his job like no one else. It wasn’t like Ryeowook was someone important to him. He was helping him stand up from the bottom of a dark hole.
Today was a really nice day, so Ryeowook thought about cleaning the windows and Kyuhyun’s whole apartment. He opened the balcony door and started cleaning the place. The wind was warm and gentle, making Ryeowook feel less exhausted, as he cleared every part of the apartment.
The first thing he had done was throw out the cigarette butts from the ashtray. After this, he went to his room and took a blanket outside to put it on the balcony railing. He did the same with Kyuhyun’s as well. Making the air go through it, so they both will sleep better. He cleared the living room and bedroom. He scrubbed the kitchen and bathroom to the perfection. The tiles shone, making Ryeowook almost blind. The floor shone as well, and was a little slippery, from the used paste. He arranged the shoes in the hall and swept the sand from the floor. He threw his old shoes out- not knowing why he hadn’t done it earlier.
When he ended cleaning all the windows, making them shine and perfectly transparent. Sunset went through them, coloring the living room, where Ryeowook was currently, in bright orange and yellow colors.
It was late in the evening, when Ryeowook finally ended all the chores. He sat with a sandwich and a cold drink on the sofa and started eating. It was a tiring day, but Ryeowook was satisfied. He was happy that he managed cleaning up the whole apartment. It was only a thing he could do to Kyuhyun. When he ate, he sank comfortably in the sofa, while watching TV, waiting for Kyuhyun’s return, even if he knew he didn’t have to. He didn’t even realize when exhaustion took over him and he fell asleep. He didn’t realize, as sleep took him, that the blankets were still outside. He hadn’t seen the dark clouds moving, promising an upcoming rain after this love
