“Are you seriously going to keep a calendar?” Chen asked Aileen as they were at the coffee shop about to meet with their wedding planner
“What? Do you want to plan one of the most important days of our lives by ear? Really Chen Chen,” she rolled her eyes
“I just thought we would go to the court house and then have a huge party,”
“Don’t make me come across this table and smack you,” he smiled as he looked at the door to find Nicole, his cousin standing there, “You’re the wedding planner,”
“NIKKI!” the girls hugged each other, “Don’t be rude Chen. Hug your cousin,”
“She knows how I feel about her. Air five,” he raised his hand as he was going to high five her
“You are so childish. I can’t believe you are marrying him,” she rolled her eyes
“I know I wonder too,”
“Hey don’t be like that,” he kissed her cheek
“So let’s get to business. We have a lot of work to do,”
“Yes we do. I brought the checklist,”
“That’s great,” said Nikki as she opened her planner
Chen looked at both girls with a confused look on his face. He had no idea all of this went into planning a wedding. He didn’t want to be rude and excuse himself from the process though. Aileen noticed Chen’s face.
“Honey you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to,”
“No I do,” he sat up straight
“You do?” Nikki was surprised
“Yes I want to be involved in the whole process. It’s my wedding too,” he smiled
“Ok so what are some of your ideas then Chen?” asked Nikki
“Um well how about a rodeo,”
The girls burst out laughing. Aileen looked at Chen’s sad face and instantly stopped. She calmed herself down before she spoke.
“I’m sorry baby but we aren’t country kids. We are very much city ones. Was that the first idea that just popped in your head?”
Chen chuckled at Aileen, “Yea it was. I have never really thought about wedding ideas. I thought the court house would be an option,”
“Well we are crushing that option right now ok. What about you Aileen?” asked Nikki
“To be honest I never really thought about wedding ideas either. I never thought I would get married actually, that is until I meant this knucklehead,” she smiled
“You two are too cute it’s making me nauseous. Well this is my job. I’m here to help,” she smiled at the two.
Later that afternoon they all had finally decided on a nice venue at a winery. All the perks came with the winery and the price was reasonable. They planned a budget of 15,000 with some wiggle room and they made a 200 guest list of close relatives and friends.
10 months til D-Day
Aileen, her mother, her older sister Ashley, her mother in law Eun Bi and Chen’s grandmother went wedding dress shopping today at Kleinfield in New York City. They had the best selections of wedding dresses stemming from Vera Wang to Lazaro to Monique Lhuillier. Aileen already had a dress in mind but she was willing to try on some options these ladies picked out for her. They all sat the in waiting room until their stylist came out to help them shop. Her name was Candice Roz and she smiled lovely at Aileen as she took her in the back to ask her some questions on styles she wanted to try.
“I want strapless…”
“No, no, no you can’t have strapless. Must be conservative,” said Yu-ri who was Chen’s grandmother
“Oh Granny I want to be y that day,” she turned to Candice, “Lots of lace and some ruffles. I like A-line with a sweetheart neckline but I’m open to suggestion,”
“No strapless,” Yu-ri was persistent
“Well I think she should try some on. Maybe you’ll like one,” Candice smiled at the older lady. She was trying to please both women
Aileen pouted at Yu-ri who smiled at her, “Ok you can try one on,”

Everyone seemed to like a different style but Aileen wasn’t getting that feeling yet until she saw this gorgeous lace Paloma Blanca dress. She tried it on and then got “jacked up” by the stylist so her family would love it to. Everyone was in tears when Aileen came out of the dressing room.
“So are you saying yes to the dress?” Candice asked
Aileen felt like a million bucks as she glowed in the mirror. She knew Chen would love it, “Yes I’m saying yes to the dress,”
