Case 10 - Stake-out
Cold Blood
He couldn’t help from having his leg bounce back and forth, and he franticly flipped through pages of some case, not registering a single word from it. Daehyun was sitting in front of him, and that look he was giving him scared him to an unbelievable level. Did Daehyun remember, or did he notice that damn hickey that Youngjae left on his side?.
“You-” Daehyun spoke up, startling Youngjae from his thoughts.
“I can explain!” he almost shouted, within seconds gaining attention of everyone in the office.
“You can?” Daehyun said, furrowing his eyebrows “But this is a new case” he said, setting the papers down on the table, and Youngjae stared at them blankly, feeling his hands shake uncontrollably from the nervousness he was feeling.
He didn’t know what was scarier at this point, Daehyun remembering what he did to him the other day, or the fact that he might just really like Daehyun, and not in a friend kind of way, judging from his own actions. Whichever it was, he was sure both of the options would lead to his early death.
“No. I mean” Youngjae said, now trying to explain “Yes, I don’t know that case” he shook his head, which was equal to admitting that he just acted like an idiot for no reason.
“So?” Daehyun said, giving him an expectant look.
“What?” Youngjae raised an eyebrow, unsure of what the other expected from him.
“Read” he said in that annoyed tone, shooting a look at the papers on his desk before getting up from his seat, “And write a report on it”.
There was definitely something going on with Daehyun, because it felt too much like he was being punished by him for something that he was not aware of, or rather too aware of.

The two of them sat in a car. It was a typical stake-out during the quite times. It should have been somewhat relaxing for once not having to use much of his brain power, or in fact use any muscles in his body, apart from those that kept his eye lids open. It should have been like that, but he couldn’t stop fidgeting and it was so clear and obvious, with only the two of them in the car in a complete silence.
“Just say what you want to say already” Daehyun said, his patience having clearly ran out at this point.
“Say what?” Youngjae said, somewhat uncertain of the others meaning.
“How long do you plan to do these things?” Daehyun said, giving out a sigh, as Youngjae continued to stare, his fidgeting having stopped now as he listening to the others words carefully.
“I really don’t know anymore” Daehyun acknowledged, turning his head towards him, “I’m not going to lie, I don’t remember everything, but it’s not like I don’t remember anything at all either”.
Youngjae could feel shivers going down his spine at the others words. Even if he wanted to fake ignorance at this point it was too late, and he knew it wouldn’t work this time around.
“I just don’t understand what you want from me” Daehyun continued, and there was a tint of agony in the others expression, which only confirmed the thing that he dreaded the most – Daehyun remembering his actions.
“I-” he began, almost looking past him now “ing bastard!” he suddenly shouted, and Youngjaes hands shot up in defence at the sudden change of tone from the other, - although Daehyun was not exactly known for patience, but this was a quite drastic change.
After few seconds he heard the car door open and slam. When he peeked through his fingers he could see Daehyun running down the street, and someone few metres ahead of him.
“Oh !” He swore, quickly getting out of the car and running after them.
By the time he reached them, Daehyun had already wrestled the guy to the floor, and proceeding to pull out a pair of handcuffs from the back of the pocket of his trousers.
“Freaking ” he swore. It was somewhat unusual to see Daehyun so emotionally invested, as he watched Daehyun drag the guy past him. He could only turn and follow quietly after them.
…well it was better the criminal getting all of Daehyuns anger then Youngjae himself.
