Hang-Pt.5
Cold Blood
“Daehyun?” The police man repeated, as he leaned back in his chair, and his thoughts drifting off. “It’s quite a story” The other said, leaning forward now, “I don’t think it’s something that I should be telling you or anyone else” he shook his head, allowing Youngjae to know, that he wasn’t willing to share the story of Daehyuns past. “The chief” Youngjae began, drawing the others attention and interest now “Said I should ask you…”. “He did?” The police man tilted his head, in somewhat a confusion, with Youngjae just nodding.
“Where should I start” he took a deep breath, and then cleared his throat “There was a report from school, that Daehyun missed a whole week of school and there wasn’t even a way to contact him by phone, or by visiting his house, as they said no-one answered. So when we got there to check out what happened…” He stopped for a moment, somewhat debating if he should continue or not, then began talking again “We found him in his parent’s room laying down besides his mum…”
Youngjae still couldn’t tell what was wrong with that, he had laid down in the same bed as his parents before and he didn’t see what was so wrong with that.
“There was blood all the floor and bed” he continued”. “Blood!?” Youngjae shouted out in shock. “She had cut the veins on her left hand wrist… but it wasn’t a death from over bleeding” he clarified “She had hanged herself and when Daehyun found her he just laid her down on the bed and stayed with her for a whole week” he said still somewhat shocked himself “for a whole week with a dead body, not even moving… and when we found him he was mumbling things” he said in disbelief “he was speaking to her all that time…” he highlighted, then his face turning somewhat in disgust “Oh and the room” He added “the room was filled with a horrible trench, and when we tried to remove Daehyun from her, he screamed and shouted so much, that he fainted quickly due to exhaustion”.
“Why did she do it?” Youngjae asked, still in shock. “That…” The policeman gave out sight “… isn’t something I can tell, and even if chief gave you the permission to know, you won’t find it out from me. Im sorry”.

Youngjae went out of the office, still in a daze.
“Sorry, could I look into the drowning case from 3 months ago” Youngjae asked one of the passing police man. “You can find it the evidence room” The officer pointed towards the door, “Do you need any help finding it?” he asked, but Youngjae quickly shook his head in reply. “No, its fine, I can find it myself”.
It took a while for Youngjae to find the right case, seeing how many cases there were, and barely even knowing which year it happened.

“This” Youngjae says, taking out a folder and scanning carefully over the cover “Hanging case, 2005”. He couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked through the pictures. All of the writing on the walls was in dark red blood reading “You monster” “You ruined this family” “You’re not my son”. Youngjae couldn’t grasp it, he couldn’t understand how a mother could do something like that to her own son, and just what was it that Daehyun did to make her do something like this to him and to herself.
“This…” Youngjae took a deep breath as he looked at the picture of the rope that was hanging from the ceiling. The rope was covered in smudges of blood as he thought of all the hanging bodies they had seen in the warehouse. “But why?” Youngjae mumbled as he continued to flip through the pages trying to find an answer, however there wasn’t an answer to such question or rather it was left out on purpose for no-one to find out.
No matter how much he wanted to know, he knew asking Daehyun himself would lead nowhere, there was no way Daehyun would willingly tell him anything…
