The Silent Scream
“Report” Daehyun says as he yawns deeply looking at the run down shop before them. “This used to be a butcher shop, however five a years ago, during an inspection a dead girl’s body was found inside one of the fridges and soon after it got closed down. After that nobody wanted to buy property, till half a year ago it was purchased by some old man” Youngjae said, now looking away from his notebook “This month alone we already received 3 calls from the residents around the area about strange noises, but when police showed up absolutely nothing was found.”
“So why are we here for?” Daehyun remarked annoyed.
“Well we just need to check out this so called case and write up a report” Youngjae moaned in annoyance, now putting his notebook into his pocket “Let’s just question few residents and go”.

“Done” Youngjae gives out a moan, as he rests his head on the table. “What is it?” Himchan asks curious as he picks up the file that Youngjae been working on through the whole night. “Stupid case” Youngjae mumbles now in a daze. “Stupid case?” Himchan laughs flipping through pages and lousily skipping through the content. “Mystery screams” Youngjae says, slamming his hands onto his own desk, startling Himchan. “Coffee” Youngjae states, as he walks off.

Youngjae puts in a coin into the vending machine, as Daehyuns voice fills up the quite corridor.
“You” Daehyun shouted as he spotted the other “Who do you think you are digging up someone else’s past!?”.
“Wait, what!?” Youngjae began before getting pushed against the vending machine, with both of Daehyun’s hands entangled into the collar of his shirt.
“How much do you know!?” Daehyun shouted again, shaking the other firmly, with anger overflowing his entire body.
“Only that she killed herself” Youngjae said, with Daehyuns eyes widening for a second and coming back to normal, as he roughly let go of Youngjaes collar, disgust and anger mixed on his face.
“It’s because I was worried” Youngjae tried to explain himself, as he began to follow after the other, only with Daehyun turning back and gripping his shirt again “Mind your own business and worry about yourself. I don’t need to receive any worry or pity from someone like you” He spat out the words before pushing Youngjae back and walking off.

For the whole day, Daehyun didn’t even look at the other once, with the tension in the office rising almost to its limits, with a single call breaking it all down. “What?” Daehyun says firmly into the phone. “Again?” He questions annoyed, as he sets the phone down. “Another report” Daehyun said, in an angry voice, for Youngjae to just look up puzzled for a while, as he watched him leaving the office and soon after tagging along himself.

“I’m sorry” Youngjae says, taking his off the road for few seconds and looking at Daehyun, who still had firm expression on his face. “Don’t” Daehyun said “If you even think about telling this to anyone else I swear I will-”. Youngjae glanced once again at the other, who was looking through the side window. In any case Youngjae could guess how Daehyuns sentence would have ended anyway, without the other needing to spell it out for him. “I won’t” Youngjae assured the other “I told you, it’s because I was wo-”. “Don’t!” Daehyun shouted, with his whole face flustered, surprising Youngjae.
Youngjae drove the rest of the way with somewhat blank thoughts. Not being able to understand Daehyun was fine, not being able to get along with the other was also fine, however leaving things as they were didn’t feel good.

For 20 minutes they sat in a car with the windows rolled down listening to their surroundings, not even a single scream reaching their ears. Daehyun gave out a sigh “Waste of time”. Youngjae just nodded in quit agreement to others statement. He didn’t feel like he had much of the right to speak comfortably with the other, seeing how he made Daehyun that angry. “Drive” Daehyun said. “Eh?” Youngjae looked at Daehyun. “Just drive” Daehyun stated, “There are more serious cases out there that we need to deal with and this is just wasting that time”.
“Oh” Youngjae nodded in agreement, as he turned the keys of the car; switching the car’s engine on and driving off.

“Again” One of the Cha Seon said, setting the phone down. “Again!?” Youngjae repeated annoyed, with Daehyun catching their attention as he slammed the papers in his hands down in annoyance and glanced over to them “Get me the name and address of the owner”. “Right away” The Cha Seon answered, as she began searching through her computer.
