It's been a week since Jessica left. Taeyeon was doing well, especially Taeng. Though she and Taeng don't want to admit it out loud, they did understand Jessica's importance in their daily activities. With Jessica away, Taeng has been escaping in his heist so easily that he even got bored doing his job. For Taeyeon, Jessica had always been around so without her now, it's kind of unsettling. But it's not only the two of them that was missing the Jung.

Tiffany would never admit it as well. Just like Taeng and Taeyeon, she missed the Jung's presence. She would often find herself staring at the Jung's desk in the classroom. Sometimes, she would space out in class.

"Ms. Hwang. Hello? Ms. Hwang." Her teacher called. She turned to her teacher as her focus returned.

"Oh, I'm sorry, sir."

"Pay attention, Ms. Hwang." He returned back to the lesson.

Sunny, on the other hand, was not feeling very sentimental for the Jung. Unlike the three, she was rather a bit angry at the Jung. Why? Because when the Jung left, her best friend was nowhere near the best friend she knew. Tiffany didn't smile as often and was often spacing out. Not like the one she knew, the Tiffany who smiled brightly and always focused.

"She's been like that since Jessica left. I've never seen this side of Tiffany before." Taeyeon said. Sunny was seated next to her. They were eating in the cafeteria right now. Tiffany was spacing out again. Even when they moved, the girl didn't budge.

"Well, I've only seen this once. And that was when Tiffany couldn't find her Totoro stuffed toy." Sunny and Taeyeon were trying to think of an idea. Then, Sunny remembered a certain thief.

"No... That's not good but..." She wanted to dismiss the idea but it could work.

"What's the matter?" The minute those words left , Taeyeon immediately thought that she wasn't going to enjoy this.

That weekend, Kim Residence

"I'm sorry, Sunny. But I can't make it." Taeyeon was standing in front of a mirror as she said those words. Someone was smirking before her, his reflected smile was seen through the mirror.

"Eh? Why?" She couldn’t help but notice a bit of sadness and disappointment in her voice.

"I'm sorry. I just can't."

"...okay. See you next time then." Taeyeon hanged up.

“Well, you handled that pretty well. I’ll be sure to have a good time.” Taeng said. Taeyeon didn’t say anything but she was clearly sad and upset. She recalled the conversation earlier that morning.

Earlier, Shi Dae high school

"Do you want to hear the plan?" Sunny asked, her eyes staring intensely at Taeyeon, as if boring a hole to her soul. Taeyeon gulped, clearly nervous, and nodded.

"We'll go take her out. The three of us. We can go to that amusement park."

"Amusement park? I want to go~”  Taeyeon and Sunny turned to see Yuri.

"Oh, Yuri."

"What's with that welcome? Anyway, can I go with you guys? It won't be fun if I go by myself." Sunny thought for it a bit. Taeyeon wasn't too concerned and before she could answer, Sunny already finalized the decision.

"Okay. Let's all go." Sunny said smiling.

"Great! So what's the plan?"

"Fany has been depressed and out of it since Jessica left. So we're going to cheer her up by taking her to the amusement park." Sunny explained.

"Sunny." Taeyeon called.

"Hm?"

"You said that something isn't good. What exactly isn't good about that?" Taeyeon felt uneasiness when Sunny scooted closer and started whispering.

"I will see if I can talk to that phantom thief. I need him in the plan." Sunny whispered.

"WHAT?!"

Taeyeon shouted a little too loud. Everyone in the cafeteria looked at her. She sat down after apologizing.

"What do you need him for?" She asked quietly.

“I’ve seen him around. And he’s good at his job. There was one time that he pretended to be Jessica on the spot while she was supposed to be guarding the Fallen Angel’s Pendant.” Yuri looked at Sunny unbelievingly.

“How would you know that? That wasn’t even publicized!”

“My dad’s on the case. He keeps complaining at home.”

Present, Kim Residence

Taeyeon just sighed. She quickly changed to Taeng.

“It’s good to have some fun in a while. Even our shenanigans seem to boring without the Sergeant.” Taeng commented.

“Yeah…”

“Oh, come on. Cheer up. You’ll be going on a date.”

“Not on the date I wanted…” Taeyeon whispered.

“I can hear you, you know. What’s not to like about dates?”

“It’s not Sunny we’re going on a date with…” Taeng looked at her reflection in the mirror and had an “Eh?” expression. Taeyeon sighed.

“We’re going there to cheer Tiffany. Your use is pretty much to disguise as Jessica as Sunny and Yuri cheer her up.”

“WHAT?!”

“Exactly my reaction. Weren’t you listening in school?”

“Well, you were talking about the Sergeant so I wasn’t listening.”

“Hurry up! They’ll be there soon.”

“Alright, let’s do this.” Taeng said as he went to the closet to pick out some clothes and another set to bring. In his mind, a lot of thoughts were being processed. One of them was about Taeyeon’s feelings but his thoughts were hidden from Taeyeon.

Lee Residence

Sunny plopped down her bed after the phone call. She was clearly disappointed that Taeyeon wasn’t coming. She was hoping that she could hang out with Taeyeon while Tiffany is being cheered up by the thief.

She shook her head at the thought.

‘What am I thinking? I don’t care about that. Tiffany has to be first.’ She repeated this for a while in her head. She took her bag with her and left her house. She got to Tiffany’s house after a few.

“Tiffany?” Sunny called Tiffany who was lying at her bed. Tiffany looked at her. Smiling for a bit, she got up and got ready.

‘It won’t help if I just stay here and wish that she’ll be there the next morning. I’ll go out today.’ This was in Tiffany’s mind as she got ready. And she was also thankful that Sunny was trying to cheer her up. She was really a good friend.

“Who’s coming?” Tiffany asked while getting ready.

“Well, it’s just me and Yuri with you.”

“How about Taeyeon?” Tiffany couldn’t help but inquire.

“Eh? What about Taeyeon?” Sunny’s voice was higher than usual. Tiffany deduced that Sunny was thinking of Taeyeon at that time.

“Well, usually she comes with Yuri so I thought she’ll be there.” Tiffany stated as her answer to Taeyeon’s question. She heard Sunny laugh at her own self but it died down quickly.

“She said she couldn’t make it…” Tiffany stopped when she heard Sunny’s tone. She approached Sunny and hugged her.

“Don’t worry about Taeyeon. I’m sure she’d rather come with you than whatever she planned for today.” Tiffany was cheering her up. Sunny couldn’t help but laugh.

“I should be cheering you up! Come on!”

At the Amusement Park

Sunny was dressed in a yellow T-shirt paired with some black jeans. Its sleeves reached half before her elbows. Her brown hair was held together by a ribbon. Tiffany was wearing a beige loose shirt paired with a gray, somewhat pleated skirt. Its sleeves had reached just before her shoulders and her hair was down. Yuri had a black sleeveless shirt paired to a red and black checkered skirt. She had a light olive-colored jacket and her hair was also down. They walked in the park and started deciding what to ride first.

Sunny’s phone rang.

“Excuse me for a bit.” She went away, leaving Tiffany and Yuri to decide about the rides. Yuri was the really excited one. She listed all the rides that would really pump adrenaline in their bloods. It ranged from the roller coasters to the haunted houses.

“Hm… Then for last, we could go to the Ferris wheel to rest and then, go home.” Tiffany chuckled at Yuri’s enthusiasm.

With Sunny, she answered her phone.

“Hello? Sunny speaking.” She said.

“Ms. Lee, Inspector Lee’s daughter?” A man’s voice answered.

“Yes. Who is this?” She heard the male’s voice feign hurt.

“Oh… I’m hurt. Did you already forget about me? I thought you needed my help…” At this, Sunny froze.

“… Hello?” The voice broke the silence.

“Are you… by chance… Taeng, the phantom thief?” Sunny asked the last part while whispering.

“No. I’m Inspector Lee, your father. Who do you think this is?” Sunny scoffed at the thief’s sarcasm.

“How am I supposed to remember who you are if we only met once?”

“Don’t say that you haven’t been learning about me from your father. He sure can talk a lot.”

“How did you- anyway, yes. I do need your help. Wait… How did you get my number?”

“Art works aren’t the only things that I steal, you know.” Sunny could hear something at the thief’s suggestive tone but she decided to ignore it. She looked at her phone. It was a random number. ‘He must be using a payphone or something.’

“So what do you need my services for?” Taeng asked.

“Can you meet me in the amusement park today?”

“Ho~ Are you asking me out?” Again, there was something suggestive.

“Very funny… Can you?”

“Well, you look decent so why not.” Those words made Sunny crease her eyebrows.

“What?” She asked. Then there were a pair of arms that embraced her. She didn’t know who it was but she just froze.

“Nice to see you in my arms again, Sunny-ah~” At this, Sunny turned her head to see a handsome face. She froze once again.

The thief’s face was close to hers. His red eyes… they were bright and mirthful but she couldn’t help but notice a brown shade, both of which were expressing… sadness or was it nervousness? Sunny stepped back to look at the thief’s appearance.

Taeng had a white, button-up shirt. He had a black jacket that fits just perfectly over the shirt. He had blue jeans with some running shoes. On his head was a gray, French Connection Prince of Wales cap.

“Sunny-ah?” He asked as he waved a hand in front of her face.

“I told you if you had just shown up as Jessica, then this wouldn’t happen. What did you do?” Taeng heard Taeyeon scold him.

“Our first impression wasn’t really nice so I dressed up like this. Besides, I can still run if I have to with this disguise.” He answered back.

Sunny snapped out of her somewhat- like a trance state. She stepped back again to put some space between them.

“Were you following me?” She asked.

“No.” But Taeng was smiling. Sunny quickly deduced that he probably did.

“Well, my friend was really depressed because her… friend left without saying anything.” Sunny wasn’t sure what to label Jessica as. Those two have a pretty one-sided competency relationship. She didn’t know if they were enemies or friends. She decided with the latter.

“I know the plan already. But I’ll be doing this my way. If I cheer her up, then you have to go out with me.”

“What?!” A voice in his head exclaimed at about the same time.

 “What?!” Shock was evident on Sunny’s face. Taeng, on the other hand, felt like he was going deaf. From both the outside and inside, there was a loud exclamation. But he quickly regained his composure, ignoring the voice that was almost tempted to curse at him.

“So is that a yes?”

“Fine. But she can’t know that you’re you. If she does, the deal is off.”

“Deal.” Taeng said, giving Sunny a smirk and a wink before going somewhere. Soon after, someone tapped Sunny’s back once again.

“Jessica?! Er- Taeng?” Sunny composed herself at the sight of an actual copy of the Jung but the eyes were still red.

“Yup, it’s me.” Even the voice was the same. And surprisingly, the height was exact as well. Sunny was really impressed.

“Wow. You’re really good.”

“I’m an expert. A pro, so… I’m the best.” He sang the last part. Sunny laughed at him.

“Okay, I’m off, my bunny.” Sunny shuddered a bit after hearing Jessica’s voice say those to her. It wasn’t creepy, just unnatural.

“Don’t say that with Jessica’s voice.” She said before Taeng disappeared.

Sooner later, Yuri came to Sunny.

“Sunny! Jessica is- Jessica Jung- Tiffany-”

“Yuri. Slow down. What’s wrong?” Sunny asked the tired Yuri.

“She’s with Tiffany right now.” The two of them went to the direction from where Yuri came.

There was another person looking at them. She followed the two which led her to her target. She watched behind the scene as her target played around the place with who she assumed as someone important to her. When the four girls got on a big wheel, she waited on the ground, watching them closely. She radiated a dark aura unseen by normal human beings. Her doe-like eyes had two colors at the moment. One was brown, the other looked like white ash.

Tiffany wasn’t entirely happy but she was a bit happier than she had been for the past several days. The person in front of her is not Jessica Jung. But she decided to play along. After all, the one in front looks exactly like Jessica but it wasn’t her. They rode around the rides that Yuri listed just a while ago. It was like a real date with Jessica but she knows that Jessica wasn’t there with her. When they rode at the rides, she felt two pairs of eyes watching them. “Jessica” told her to ignore them. She later found out that it was Sunny and Yuri so she ended up smiling more often.

The person in front of her was wearing a cream button up with a black sweater over it. She was a pair of jeans. She looked exactly like Jessica.

“You really do have a beautiful eye smile.” “Jessica” said. Tiffany blushed lightly when she heard Jessica’s voice say those words. This person was really trying hard.

They stopped at the Ferris wheel. They sat next to each other. Taeng felt as if he failed.

“Thanks for trying to cheer me up, whoever you are.”

“What are you talking about? I’m Jessica.” Taeng looked at Tiffany straight to the eyes. Then he realized that she knows.

“How did you know?” Taeng asked.

“Well, Jessica didn’t address me as her princess. She never addressed me as anything. And she’s always cold to me. She gives me vague and short answers. But I could hear something in her voice every time she speaks and that’s what makes her different from you. There’s something in her voice which I only hear when she speaks to me. On the other hand, you’re kind of a flirt. You talk too much.”

“Do you know who I am?”

“Well, I think you’ll get in trouble if I know who you are. So I won’t ask. But I hope that we meet again. It would be nice to have a friend like you. Just like Sunny, Taeyeon, and Yuri.” There was silence for a bit.

“Taeyeon, could you handle this for a bit?” With that, red eyes turned brown.

“Tiffany…” Tiffany turned to the person beside her again. Taeng was no longer using Jessica’s voice because he wasn’t him anymore. Taeyeon was out.

“Taeyeon?! So it was you?” Tiffany looked at the girl beside her. 

“I’m really sorry for tricking you.” Taeyeon was shocked to feel Tiffany hug her for a bit.

“Don’t worry. I’m very happy that you did this to cheer me up. Did Sunny think of it?” Taeyeon nodded. Tiffany gave Taeyeon a bright smile.

“I am really thankful that I have friends like you guys. And you’re pretty good. I didn’t know that you have such a way with words.”

“Believe me; I didn’t know I could say those words either.” Taeyeon said quietly as she had a look that said, ‘it wasn’t me.’ Tiffany and Taeyeon just laughed.

On another cart, Sunny and Yuri were watching them. Yuri was fangirling over the two. She didn’t know that it was Taeyeon or Taeng. Sunny was very upset though. First, she was lying to her best friend. Second, it was Taeng up there. And lastly, she didn’t know why but seeing them and knowing that it was them, she felt an uneasy feeling.

Yuri looked at Sunny and saw her face. She smiled teasingly.

“I didn’t know you like Jessica, too!”

“What?”

“Don’t deny it. The look on your face totally says that you’re b with jealousy right now.”
“It’s not that, pabo!” Sunny hit Yuri lightly.

“So do you have like two personalities inside of you?” Tiffany asked jokingly.

“Kind of…” Taeyeon said nervously.

“Then can I talk to the other one again? Just until this ride ends.” Tiffany requested.

“She’s requesting for you.”

“Okay. You requested.”

“Wow. That was a complete 360 character change.”

“Well, you know how weird people are. We are just weirder than they are.” They laughed a bit.

“Are we actually telling her about it?” Taeyeon asked Taeng.

“It doesn’t apply if she knew about it before. And I don’t even think that she’s taking us seriously.” Taeng answered.

“So who is the Sergeant to you?”  Taeng asked.

“The Sergeant? Oh, you mean Jessica?” Tiffany laughed again, her eye smile was bright.

“For me, she’s my-”

Creanck~ The Ferris wheel stopped. The lights in the amusement park went off. Darkness surrounded the place. Some emergency lights opened around the park. They were the lights that were tied to the flags in the park.

“What’s going on?” Tiffany asked as she looked around. She stood up while Taeng sat still. She was trying to locate the source of a strong power. There was a strong wind that caused the Ferris wheel to creak once again.

“Tiffany, stay down.” Tiffany didn’t question the sudden change in voice. It was not exactly Taeyeon’s voice that she is hearing now but it was what seemed like a deeper tone. She saw Taeyeon stood up and in her hand was a black feather.

“Taeyeon… You’re…” Tiffany saw Taeyeon look back at her with one of her brown eyes and the other was a familiar shade of red.

“Taeng?” As those words left , Taeng was out.

A/N: Hey guys. This is a bit of a late update so I apologize for that. I’m also apologizing in advance. I can’t update for the next two weeks. I have something due on the 15^th, if I want extra credit, on the 13^th. And I have a lot of things on my hands right now so I can’t update. But on the bright side, we have a guest that will be more involved in the next chapter. Did you notice who it was?
