Then you felt your phone, vibrating in your pocket. You immediately picked up…

“Hello?”

“This is an international call.” The operator said in English.

“Hello? Am I connected? ------ah?” You heard your brother’s voice.

“Oppa!” You exclaimed.

Everybody looked at you…

“Your brother?” Yoochun asked.

You nodded in response.

“How are you doing? Is Mika hyung and Jay still there?”

“Yes, oppa. We’re doing great. My friends came over again.”

“Oh, that’s great.”

“Did you just arrive? Where are you right now, oppa?” You asked.

“Yeah. I’m in my hotel room, I’ll be meeting with dad and mom later.” Karam said.

“Oh, have some rest oppa, call me again later. Okay?”

“Okay. Have fun! Don’t worry about me, I’m good! Bye!” Your brother said before hanging up.

“Your international call just ended.” The operator said again.

“What did he say?” Mika came rushing to ask.

“He said, he’s good.” You replied, satisfied. You smiled.

…

“Father… how are you feeling?” Karam immediately asked.

“I’m okay now son, you didn’t actually have to come.” Your father said.

“I was so worried to death.”

“Don’t worry anymore, the doctor said I’m fine and healthy now. I can leave tomorrow.”

“Don’t you think you need to rest more, dad?” Karam asked.

“That’s what I’ve been telling him.” Your mother said, as she entered the room.

“Ommoni!” Karam approached her and hugged her.

“HyunChul-ah, thanks for coming. Did --------ah come too?” Your mother asked.

“Uh, no. She’s at home. Actually I didn’t tell her anything. I told her I need to attend something, that’s why.”

“She’s alone?” Your mother asked, worriedly.

“No, my friends are with her, and her friends too. My friends are like brothers to her now, so..”

“I see… you need to go back there soon, I’m afraid she must be sad.” Your mom said.

“Yes mom.” Karam replied.

“HyunChul-ah…” Your father called.

“Yes?”

“How is Korea?”

“Still good. Don’t worry dad, we’re doing fine. Worry about yourself more, look what happened to you.”

“What? Am I being scolded by my own son?” He said jokingly.

“If --------ah is here, she would say more that that!”

“Take care of your health more, father. Don’t overwork; I’m afraid your body will become weak.”

“I will, son. How is ---------ah?”

“She misses you a lot… she wanted to come too, but she knows she can’t. She doesn’t know you’re like this too. If she knew, she’ll be worried, that’s why I didn’t tell her.”

“Good that you didn’t, I don’t want her to worry about me.”

“Umma, she miss you a lot too.

“We want to see ---------ah too, actually your father and I misses her a lot too..” Your mother added.

“I want to hear her voice… can we call her HyunChul-ah?” Your father requested.

Karam dialed your number…

Its almost 12 midnight, and everyone went in the living room, but still alive and high.

You felt your phone vibrating again…

*Is it oppa?* You hurriedly answered it.

“Hello?” You said.

Everybody turned to you.

“Is it hyung?” Jay asked.

“---------ah?” Your father said in the other line.

“Appa?!” You exclaimed.

Everyone was shocked, they stayed still and listened…

“-----------ah, how are you?” Your father asked again.

Tears started to form in your eyes….

“I should be asking you that… how are you appa?”

“I’m great! Don’t worry about me. How is school?”

“Good. How’s work?” You asked.

“Good too.” Your father replied.

“How’s your health dad?” You asked again.

Mika and Jay exchanged glances.

“Don’t worry about my health, I’m perfect. You, don’t get sick, okay?”

“Yes father. Don’t over work… don’t be stubborn and listen to the doctors okay? You should get a check-up every month. Okay?”

“Arraso, arraso… your brother told me that already… Your mom’s here too…”

“Umma?” Tears escaped from your eyes.

“----------ah, we miss you, take care always okay?” Your mother said.

“You too umma… I can’t wait to see you.”

“Me too, honey. Don’t worry we’ll see each other soon.” You mother said.

“----------ah…” You heard your brother’s voice…

“Oppa…”

“We’ll be there Monday evening…. Take care okay?... I’ll hang up now.”

“Wait!” You said.

“Why?”

“Is he there?” You asked.

“Who?” Your brother asked, confused.

“You know… him…”

“Oh, yeah he’s here… wanna talk to him?”

“No, he must be busy…”

Everybody just looked at you, confused and curious…

“He’s not busy at all… he’s actually just standing here beside me…”

“Really?! But…”

“Oh, by the way… I have a surprise for you.. when we come back…”

“What surprise?” You asked.

“That’s why it is a surprise… need to go now… bye!”

With that your brother ended the call…

“Did he hang up?” Jay asked.

“Yeah…” You said.

“What did he say?” Mika asked.

“They’ll be back Monday evening.” You said.

“That’s great!” YoonJi said, then she hugged you.

“About the surprise thing… I think I know…” Mika said.

“What is it hyung?” Jay asked.

“It’s a person…” Mika said.

Everyone shot him confused looks, including you…

“Let’s just wait and see..” Mika said.

Everybody went back to playing and chatting.

“Are you happy?” Someone asked.

You turned around and saw Jaejoong sitting on the couch.

You smiled and nodded.

“Why are you sitting on the floor, it’s cold. Sit here.” He said.

You sat beside him. “Thanks.” You said.

“Aren’t you sleepy?” Jaejoong asked.

“Not yet.” You replied.

Then Jaejoong laughed when you yawned.

It is already 2 in the morning, and everybody seems tired…

“I guess we should sleep.” Mika said, yawning.

“Yeah… I’m done for today.” Jay said in agreement.

“Changmin already passed out on the couch.” Yoochun said.

“Should we sleep here?” YooRin asked.

“The temperature is warm, so it’s okay.” YoonJi said.

“You girls sleep on the couch; we’ll sleep on the carpet.” Mika said.

…Soon, all of you went into deep slumber…
