Several months passed by and everything was going very well. Daehyun has had several physiotherapy sessions and was able to walk perfectly again. Himchan had stayed away from all of us and Zelo’s parents had forgiven us for the incident that had happened during their son’s funeral.

Today was the day that Daehyun was going to be discharged from the hospital. I walked to his room, with a bunch of yellow balloons in my hand. Yellow, because he loved the colour.

I opened the door and walked in. He was too busy packing up his things to even notice me coming in.

“Hey, Daehyun,” I smiled.

His head jerked up and a smile appeared on his face, “Hey, you!” he said and came over to envelope me in a tight hug.

“Well, seems like someone’s excited today,” I teased.

“Hey! Of course I’m excited to leave this place! Can’t wait to get home and just lie down on my own bed and sleep.” He said.

“Is that all you’re gonna do when you go home? Sleep?” I pouted, “You don’t wanna hang out with me or anything?”

“Of course I wanna hang with you! I didn’t mean to-“ Daehyun said quickly.

I chuckled and said, “I was just kidding, Dae. You can sleep all you want.”

“Oh, you,” Daehyun replied, squinting his eyes at me.

One of the nurses walked in and told informed us that Daehyun’s discharged forms have been signed and he was free to leave.

We walked out of the hospital, hand in hand. Before heading home, Daehyun and I decided to drop by a small restaurant to get some lunch.

“You know what? I’ve missed this.” Daehyun told me as we took our seats at the small table.

“Missed what?” I asked.

“All of this, being able to go out with you, to hold hands with you. I miss seeing your happy face and your silly smiles. When I was in the hospital, you always looked like you were on the verge of crying, even after I assured you I was fine,” he said, “I miss spending time with you like this. I miss you.”

“I miss you, too,” I smiled, “And, you’re so cheesy.”

The both of us laughed and joked and ate through the afternoon.

Life is finally good.
