The two of you are complete opposites, as Kyungsoo discovers.


Whilst he walks fairly briskly, your heels linger on every step.

He orders Taro Milk Tea with full sugar at the street vendor. You opt for Green Tea with 10% sweetness. (I want to taste tea, not sugar, you explained).

He likes R & B, soul. You prefer your music Rock and Alternative.

Pororo on Saturday mornings. You don't wake up in time for mornings.

White. Blue.

Dogs. Cats.

Yes. No.


The only thing in common is gender.

And even that is a facade.

However, he also realizes, as the differences stretch on with every exchange, the conversation gets deeper, the laughter lighter.

Your smile under the moonlight dazzles and captures a little more of a throbbing muscle in his chest. 

He blames it on the concoction at the party.


"You should be getting home."

He doesn't want it to end though.

"I live at the dorm next to our school."

He offers to send you back.


"Shouldn't I be sending you back instead?"

He reminds you his power is Super Strength.



As he bids you farewell at your dorm, he wishes he isn't a girl right now.

"Bye Soo Jin!"

Because he wonders how his real name sounds like coming from your mouth.


"Wait!"

He's almost surprised you turned back.

"Yes?"

He hesitates.

You bounce towards him.


"I almost forgot."

He stares as you tug at his hand, whipping a pen from your side pocket.

"This is my number..."

It's a little itchy where the nib scratches onto his palm. He doesn't mind though.


"There, be safe on the way home! Bye, Kyung Soo Jin! Message me when you get home!"

That's close enough, he thinks as he watches you skip down the pavement into the building.


He repeats the number under his breath until he reaches his dorm.

"Tell me."

A familiar voice intrudes your dream.


"Wh-- ?"

You sense that your lips are moving too realistically for it to be an illusion.


"Where did you go last night?"

Amber.

"What are y-- ... humpphhhh..."

You sigh and pry a single eyelid open.


"You're alive."

You rub absentmindedly at your eyes.

"I'm touched by your enthusiasm at your best friend's continued existence." Amber huffs as she squeezes next to you on the bed. "Something happened last night."


You give a non-committal snort.

"Kris asked me out."


Your eyes flick open.

"What?"


"To a movie. A freaking movie."

The two of you catch each other's frenzied glance before you open your mouth in a soundless cry and rains haphazard slaps on her. She does the same. It lasts for a few seconds before you break the silent euphoria.


"That's great!"

"Yeah! But you gotta come with me."

"What? Why? I'm not interested in becoming a blooming lightbulb!"

"Look, he didn't even say it's a date and I just wanna make sure I'm not jumping to conclusions here. Plus, he did order extra tickets, so technically I can bring another two people along."


"That... Doesn't sound exactly like a date."

"I know... But he said he made a mistake while ordering online and if I'm not bringing anyone it'd just go to waste cos Chanyeol and Minseok are due for a mock test the next day and can't make it."

"Another two tickets eh? I think I have a person in mind."

You grin.
